As the busiest year for me yet draws to and end I took the time to record this for fun.
It's no secret Queen are my favourite band and I've been listening to this track for as long as I can remember.
Classic Roger Taylor drum parts - his sound and technique is one of a kind and very fun to emulate. Without Roger, I wouldn't be playing now!

For such a successful band like Queen, you don't see an awful lot of Roger Taylor drum covers on You Tube - I wonder if the reason is that he was a phenomenal drummer back in the day, came up with inventive and technically challenging parts that when studied are actually very tricky to emulate? I doubt there's a better drum cover of this song here on You Tube - Chris, you nail every part from Roger's hi-hat lift on each snare beat, to his snare rolls, cymbal grabs, fills etc. etc, just awesome playing. I'm a huge fan of Queen and Roger's playing, and this cover is an enormous tribute to your abilities, Roger's and Queens, bravo.

Thanks so much for your comment. I agree, there aren’t many covers, especially of the older/deep cuts. Roger was my first big influence and I still love everything about his playing and unique sound. Glad you enjoyed this

@@chrisallandrums I am nowhere near your level Chris, but he was also one of my earliest influences too, along with Bonham, of which there exists myriad covers and lessons etc. They were certainly contemporaries of each other and I'd be surprised if Bonham didn't admire his playing in the same way that Roger did his. I appreciate my previous comment was gushing with praise, but it's so nice to see a drum groove laid bare and appreciate how Roger did what he did after wondering all these years (love his snare solo in Dragon Attack btw). Keep up the great work!

I've listen to this song probably 20,000 times since my first listen in 1975 and I gotta say...love the way you "mixed" Brian's playing here. I reckon you did this to highlight the drumming but instead picked out lots of juicy guitar parts. Great playing, BTW. I always play it with twice the base pedal during the fast bits...twice the bass pedal between the snare hits. Try it!
