One of the most famous guitar solos in Rock history. And Brian still incorporates it into the extended solo he performs in concert. Saw him perform it last summer & he's still amazing. Now you need to watch this from Wembley.💙

I think it totally sucks that first of all Queen never won a Grammy award and second of all Brian May isn't listed in the top 10 of the best male guitarists of all time!!!! Rodger Taylor is number 5 on the top 10 of the lead singing drummers. Phil Collins is number one but I personally believe that Rodger is a better vocalist than Phil.. they are both awesome drummer but Roger has a special place in my heart.. John Bonham has a special place in my heart and John probably would have been number one had John been a singer also. John Deacon was listed number 9 on the top rock and roll bass players and Freddie Mercury was listed number two as the top man frontman lead vocalist and yet what's up one's Robert Plant was number one??? Noo way! Robert Plant do you have a good voice and he was an awesome performer on couldn't picture anybody else being the frontman for Led Zeppelin but Freddie Mercury was a package deal with a cherry on top.

Thanks, Faith - Sooooo Brian - Listen to that guitar! - Some people don't realize that "Brighton Rock" is also the name of a very common "hard candy" that was sold at Brighton Beach -- and also that there was a book (made into a movie) by the same name -(Graham Greene) -- Brighton Beach was a very popular summer destination for "lower-class" people... sort of "Coney Island" type place back in the day...

During the live performance the solo from Brian was long enough that Freddie could go off stage and change into another costume. Really just an opportunity for Brian to show his skills.

This album was all over the place! This is the opening track, Killer Queen is next and then it really gets weird! LOL! Bring Back That Leroy Brown is a freaking vaudeville song, for gosh sakes!

Oh the quintessential EPIC guitar from Brian and overall magnificent instrumentalisation 🤩 you should check the Live Killers version! It's extended to 12 minutes with some extra guitar and Roger's timpani solo. I just love this song so so much. What an opening to yet another amazing album.

I was angry because I was Googling and looking up the top 10 lead rock and roll guitarists of all time and Brian May got honorable mention and that's BS!! I can understand them putting Jimi Hendrix at number one and I can understand having Jimmy Page in there as well as even the damn guitar player from the freaking Beatles but I can't believe they don't even have Brian May in the top 10. I just hope and pray that he is happy and feel successful with his life even though the band ever won a Grammy that they definitely deserved and that he knows he is just as good of a guitar player than anybody else and definitely better than the guitar player for the Beatles & Slash. I'm not docking on Slash, Jimmy Page or Hendricks at all because they are all good but Brian May is superb also. Slash said in the early 1990s that Brian May and bands like Queen and Led Zeppelin were what they strived to be like as performers.

Whenever I hear Brighton Rock, Brian's intense guitar work makes me think of the infamous riots between the Mods and the Rockers at Brighton Beach in the 60's - as musically dramatized in the Quadrophenia rock opera by The Who.

Is it a coincidence that Brian's son is named Jimmy? I think not. One of my favourite Queen songs and a classic guitar solo that is the staple of Queen concerts. Freddie's falsetto for Jenny is brilliant. Love your air drumming!

You should listen to its 1969 version "Blag" by Smile Smile was the band before Queen The solo in that song is similar to this one it was an early demo for Brighton Rock

You need to listen to this track with headphones on. Brian is double-teaming with himself, and you will hear the switching between left and right "speakers". The timing and precision were masterful - he has few equals, even today.

When this was recorded, Brian May was sick, so the rest of the guys recorded their part, and Brian came in a few months later to lay down the guitar track.
