Arsema saying Agatha's real love story is with Charlotte is so sweet, I love how the series highlighted female friendship between the women in the present and the past

This scene demonstrates Queen Charlotte’s understanding of her power that Lady Danbury pointed to in that earlier scene between them…”You are the first of your kind…” And it’s a beautiful nod the Queen Charlotte gives Lady Danbury. Not only does is show the crown’s protection, but more importantly, Queen Charlotte is letting Danbury know she SEES her and her power (in refusing Adolphus) and Queen Charlotte co-signs Lady Danbury’s power. 👏🏾👏🏾It was a moment where Lady Danbury could see the Queen was coming into her own which Lady Danbury actually had a hand in. Beautifully written and executed scene!

I think that there’s much more to lady Danbury’s story, there’s a lot of time between this story and when we see her in s1, this is just her beginning and this story was more for QC, I’m hoping that they can continue to give us more of Agatha’s story, and I hope that she had more than this brief interlude with Lord ledger!, that would be sad indeed.

Lady Danbury wields great power. She is bosom buddies with the most powerful woman in the kingdom. She doesn't want a husband and happily ever after that young girls dream of. She has been to the rodeo and decided the life she wants. She didn't have a one night stand. She and Lord Ledger fell in love with each other over time and chose Violet over their relationship. Violet was the only good thing in Lord Ledger's marriage and he wanted her to continue to be untraumatized so she could find the kind of love she found with Edmund. They sacrificed their happiness to ensure hers.
@denorwhi
@denorwhi Год назад
@@AnaisKarim I mean that's a beautiful analysis. To me, I found it quite sad. To be so young and promised to an old crusty man. Having to endure intercourse with him and have 4 of his kids. The next best step was also an old man and Violets daddy? I feel like Lord Ledger took advantage of her during a fragile time. He knew it was improper to be with her like that. He knew he wasn't leaving his wife. He knew he wasn't marrying Agatha. He was giving her false hope. He broke her heart. After that, the next best thing that came her way was more life of duty with Charlotte’s brother. So she never found love and anyone to spend her life with? She's a single mom of 4 during those times? It's a no for me. I was hoping Charlotte’s brother would be the total opposite and she could have her happy ending for a little while. She's alone for 30+ years??? No, I totally think she deserved better.

Absolutely! People are giving them lots of attention too though. And it's well deserved. In my opinion though, Corey's performance is the best of the show because he's basically playing 2 versions of a character. Watching the emotions of him having fits, the torture scenes, the embarrassment from the illness etc. The range of emotions he had to go through is crazy and he performs them so well. Every part seems believable and for this to be his first big role and for it to come out this way ....wow! So I 100% believe he deserves all the praise he's getting. He's a fantastic actor. So are India and Arsema.

I love everything about your visions. You all don't shy away from difficult topics. But, Agatha's husband was laughably ugly... shockingly ugly. When he pulled out his teeth, I died. He was so condescending to her. His attitude is point on about many attitudes of black men to black women. I love the subtle power and strength the women assert.

I get what you are saying but she had to go through all that to be the fabulous, remarkable, powerhouse woman she is in Bridgerton. Her hubby was yuk...and she was groomed for him so when he died, it was a huge relief...in regards to her lover, I think thats what she needed at the time, a bit of fun. Lady Agatha had to mature into the confidence that Charlotte really was the Queen. So stop asking Princess Augusta for stuff. Once Princess Augusta realized that Agatha didn't feel comfortable asking Charlotte and George, she got really ugly with her and that's when she broke down and cried. You have a strong friendship with the most powerful woman in the kingdom, stop playing Charlotte short. She is your friend and her position is above Augusta, so why are you even dealing with Augusta? She wasn't in the delivery room being asked for her thoughts, you were. Believe in the power you mentored in Queen Charlotte, because she stepped into it and she can handle the weight of that crown.
@thelionness20
@thelionness20 Год назад
This is an interesting take because I don't think Charlotte came into her own without Agatha though.. She had to come into her power and that happened at the moment Agatha reminds Charlotte who she is when Charlotte had given up and wanted to move in with Agatha...
@AnaisKarim
@AnaisKarim Год назад
@@thelionness20 That's why I said Charlotte stepped into the power Agatha mentored in her. Agatha was the bomb. Agatha was a grown woman with 4 children and Charlotte was a teenager. Agatha mentored her and taught her about womanly things. Then she helped her to see what they could accomplish as POC with Charlotte as their leader. Agatha saw the vision, but she didn't fully believe that she didn't need Augusta and her advisors. That was the message she got at the end when Charlotte told her she should have come to her about her title and land. George would show Agatha favor because he respects her as Charlotte's trusted friend. Plus he does what Charlotte wants anyway. 🤗❤️ Agatha had the vision that truly integrated the society because she pushed for true equality and wasn't satisfied with crumbs.
@thelionness20
@thelionness20 Год назад
@@AnaisKarim so true!! I think after that ball at Agatha's George really saw that he could trust Charlotte( except with the truth of his ilness..lol) but no doubt he did whatever she asked cuz he loved him some Charlotte!! This series had so much depth to it compared to Bridgerton IMO.. just really well done.

Can we just say how beautiful this woman is! How she captured young Lady Danbury and communicate to the audience that she is a work in progress that resulted in the older character we are familiar with
