I just had the joy of seeing Queen + Adam Lambert here in Denver this past 11/5/20203. I was super sick, and it still couldn't stop me... I'm still feeling tough but this song really, really, hit me in a great way! I'd never heard before, and this is a phenomenal cover. I too, am a subscriber... Thank you!

Queen and Freddie simply can't be replicated. Despite that, this is an incredible cover of one of my fave Queen songs. Cheers to you all, job well done!
the thing that really kills me about this song is that it was written by Brian May. Like, it's rare that you can speak of a band that has a single legendary songwriter, let alone two. And that's not to sell the other boys short, '39 was written, in part, as a joke, when Brian May asked the bassist, John Deacon, to learn double bass for a song he was writing. Brian May comes in a couple of days later and John Deacon's already learned the instrument, and that's why the bass on '39 is different to other Queen songs. To give you an idea of Deacon's skill with music, he was an electronics engineer, who designed and made the Deacy Amp, the amp that Queen used to write most of their music, and he also composed, with primary songwriting credit, I Want To Break Free, Another One Bites The Dust, and You're My Best Friend, though he contributed significantly on Under Pressure and One Vision. This song hits doubly hard, because Brian May admitted when asked about this song, that words to the effect of "Everyone writes songs with double meaning. The first is for everyone else, and the second meaning is for themselves." and it's very obvious that Brian wrote this about abandoning his Astrophysics Ph.D, since the song talks about brave volunteers who journey out, never looking back, and adventure through the stars (literally celebrity status) and then he comes back home, where he abandoned his (rather modest in comparison to rock stardom) life as an astrophysicist, and is torn between the uncomfortable realization that he has probably left behind his normal life as a normal person forever, and now he's among the stars.
You all did a beautiful job with this especially one of my favoritequeen songs. As freddie mercury said " when im dead do what you want with my songs, just dont make them boring darling." And you all did not disappoint 😁.
Perfect. This is my favorite Queen song, I've listened to the original over 100 times, so I don't say this lightly : it's just as beautiful as the one on ANATO. I've always loved that bridge in the middle, and you nailed it. You also captured the intoxicating paradox of the sombre lyrics and the joyful delivery; I love when you're all bopping to it. Epic rendition! I have known this song for 30 years and this is the best interpretation of '39 I have heard so far. Also, nice video and great atmosphere. Finally, and most importantly, it seems you have had a lot of fun in making it! It would be great if you can perform another Queen 's song from the 70s! (for ex. Good company , Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy or Leaving Home Ain't Easy, or from previous albums)
