Queen Elizabeth II Laid to Rest at St George’s Chapel 

He may be the King, but he is also a son who has lost his mother. My sincerest condolences to His Majesty the King and to all the members of the Royal family for the loss of a beloved queen, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Broke my heart to see him cry. And to the citizens of the UK and the commonwealth, the rest of the world grieves with you. May she rest in peace. ❤❤

The sound of the scottish bagpipe touched my soul, as if it was the last farewell to a loved one. Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth.

Many years ago, my best friend (who is sadly no longer with us), got to talking with an old man in his late 90's and asked him 'what, in his long life was the thing that stands out most'? The old fellow tearfully replied *_"I miss my Mother..."_* That just goes to show that it does not matter how old you are the pain of losing a loved one never really goes away. You can see that same pain in the King's face. 😪

Regardless of your age, there is no pain more terrible than saying the last goodbye to our mothers. The King's face says it all. Broke my heart. Lots of strength for him. 😢

It all still feels so surreal, the fact that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is gone from the country, this world, our lives. The removal of the instruments of state, the piper playing the lament and of course the lowering of the Queen's coffin absolutely shattered me. It felt all too real that the Queen is being taken away from us but the symbolism of returning the instruments to God, from whom her duty was bestowed was so beautiful. This last journey of the queen, and again I am not from the UK or any Commonwealth countries, and not really a fan of monarchies, but I am an adult daughter with 70+ year old parents and this right here served as reminder to me that life is short and my parents are now old, and no matter how old we become, losing our parents, especially the kind of parents that have been good to us, could be the most painful moment in our lives. No matter how rich or poor, or young or old anyone is, the pain of losing a parent is equal for everyone. RIP HRH Queen.

And vice versa when our president, Michael D. Higgins, visited the UK three years later. I was deeply saddened when hearing the passing of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth. The whole world stopped unwilling and not wanting to believe our precious Queen has gone. Everyone is truly thankful for her seven decades of duty and service that always stood for values of decency, integrity, loyalty and compassion.
