We're privileged to live in an unheralded era of back to back superstar's with Black Caviar and now Winx. Full credit to Hugh Bowman for the masterful way he rides Winx, it's a very special relationship. Although it's impossible to compare horses of different era's I would have loved to seen a show down between Winx and Frankel. Queens of the turf: Winx, Black Caviar and Makybe Diva.
There are a few very good distaffers you could throw in there. Atlantic Jewel, Miss Andretti, More Joyous. You've picked the three best I think but what an era. Frankel v Winx would be interesting. I don't think Waller has reached the bottom of her yet. I don't think she's run to her absolute peak yet. I really hope they take her OS while she's still near her best.
Actually, Hartnell was recently ranked number 3 in the world ratings, and Winx has beaten him convincingly 6 or 7 times, so I'm not sure where you get your information from!!! Did Frankel beat the 3rd highest ranked horse in the world, I don't believe so?
Your assessment of Hartnell is based on your opinion and not fact. Hartnell was gelded before he left the UK and has improved significantly. His peak RPR is 121, and it was absolutely not in a 2 mile race. While I agree that 3rd best in the world excludes anything racing in Europe, last year he was in the top 10. We get some moderately performed horses who come here and perform very well. If it were just a question of UK horses being better, horses like Reliable Man would have been much better than they were here and Highland Reel wouldn't have been beaten a mile by Winx in the Cox Plate. Sorry, but it is ignorance. The reason formlines around Almanzoor are more exposed is that there are half a dozen horses at a similar level to Hartnell he can be compared with. I don't doubt how good he is... it's just that there's nothing here able to press Winx.
It's a fair assessment. My opinion though is that Winx is better than anything Frankel faced in his career at 8-10F. The best horse getting around in Frankel's era that he didn't race was So You Think... she is better than him.
Can someone tell me how many times she's run against, and won, against the boys? I know it's multiple times, but I'm not familiar with Australian races to know which ones are open.
11 of Winx's 12 Grp1 wins have been against the boys and only 2 of her 12 Grp1 wins were age restricted. So her last 10 Grp1 wins have been against all comers
Thank you. Wow. I know there are problems comparing dirt to turf horses, but after you tell me that, I'd find it laughable for any American to rank any of our females over Winx. Zenyatta was babied, and won 1 of of 2 races in open competition. Ruffian did not win (did not have the chance to win, unfortunately) against either males or older mares. Undefeated Personal Ensign ran against males once. But some or many of my compatriots will look at Winx's record, see the 6 losses, and say, but she wasn't undefeated (or almost undefeated). Phooey. Being undefeated is always a matter of luck as well as talent. And these days, of having a gaudy win/loss ratio carefully guarded. Congrats to Winx. She is awesome.
Yes Winx certainly is awesome. Horses mature at different rates, just as humans do. The fact is Winx has only ever been beaten at 2yo and 3yo. As an older horse she is unbeaten. First Seal beat Winx twice in the spring of their 3yo seasons. Look at them now. First Seal has won 2 races in the last 2 years whereas Winx has won her last 17 straight in that period. First Seal was obviously more precocious but as they have both caught up physically and mentally Winx has gone on to become a champion and all time great.
Flemington is a perfectly flat artificial track. The adjective ; artificial, means manmade or made by men ! An adjective is a word that modifies a noun Mr Fastnet. In this case, the noun we can use is "racecourse". Flemington is an artificial racecourse(subject + verb to be + article + adjective +noun). Is it so difficult Mr Fastnet ?

There were four or five mentions of Caravaggio, not one ! You are angry because you mentioned Caravaggio every day , only for the odds on favourite to finish fourth. Deary me some garbage is written here. Apparently Excelebration was 4th in the Breeders Cup when he was 2nd beaten a neck after a long season on ground too quick for him. Hartnell should be rated about 118 after he cant even beat an average European handicapper in the MC and its a shame really that Winx is racing such poor opposistion.Frankel beat 5 of the top 6 rated horses in the world by just as far yet apparently some Aussies think shes better. Laughable really but I hope she goes to Royal Ascot over 1m 2f's and not 1m.The opposition would be far better as the older milers in Europe at the moment aren't up to the usual standard and if she beats the best 1m 2f horses here there will be no debate who the best turf horse in the world is. At the momnent though she is at least 5lb below Arrogate and 10-12lb off Frankel.

Winx is dominant because she is a CHAMPION. She would be just as dominant in Europe don't you worry about that. I was absent for a day Mr Fastnet ! Don`t panic !! I went to Goodwood. I wrote on youtube on Monday : " am going to Goodwood on Wednesday to see Monarchs Glen and Frankuus". We also exchanged words about Barry Browne(2 wins from 2). I get 40 -100 messages a day ! Calm down and be nicer to women ! Insulting them will not help you find one.
