I had not heard of Queen, but when I was at university in Manchester, I heard there was to be a really good band playing at the students union. I went along with my boyfriend on 20 March 1974 and have been a Queen fan ever since. A couple of years ago my 8 year old grandson came over and started doing a very recognisable "clap, clap, stomp" that he had heard from a friend in school. I introduced him to Freddie et al and now he is a huge Queen fan too.

I Love this song. Brian said he wrote it for Freddie who liked ladies and gentlemen with a little junk in the trunk. I went to a Queen Concert in 1977 at the Forum in Los Angeles. Favorite song??? There is no such thing, they are all your favorites when you are at a live show. I just remember that it was a full on performance, lights, smoke and music. My head was spinning for days.

You're so right about them all being so talented. I believe they're the only rock band in history where every member wrote number 1 hits. John Deacon, the quiet one, on the bass wrote two of their biggest songs, Another one Bites the Dust and I want to Break Free. His bass in "Dust and the David Bowie collaboration, Under Pressure are iconic.

Eventually, you should make your way to the beautiful songs he sang with the famous opera soprano, Monserat Caballe.. Especially, "Barcelona" and "How Can I go On". He loved her voice and dreamed of singing with her.. and she said YES! They became very close friends until his death. His talent was absolutely endless.

I just turned 60 last month and was so fortunate to grow up with the most incredible music from the 60's and 70's! I saw so many amazing concerts. On Spring Break in 1981, I saw Queen at the San Diego Sports Arena, 10th row, in front of Brian May. No cell phones, digital backdrops, video screens. Just an amazing light show and one of the most incredible guitarists and vocalists in Rock history! One of the top 10 concerts that I've been to, and I've been to a lot! Rock on!

I saw Queen in 1977 in Vancouver on the Day At The Races Tour. It was the best concert I've seen still to this day. You were pulled in by Freddie's charm and charisma and joy. The difference at a Queen concert is that they truly loved the fans and wanted you to have fun! Songs that stood out were '39 when all 4 came to the front of the stage for Brian's time travelling folk song. Bohemian Rhapsody followed by Stone Cold Crazy was incredible. The encore Big Spender/Jailhouse Rock Freddie threw flowers into the audience and encouraged everyone to dance and sing along. The crowd didn't need anymore encouraging - we were totally into it. The other 3 never seemed to care that Freddie wasn't heterosexual. That in itself makes them extraordinary in the 70s/80s when rock bands were very macho. The press were horrible to Freddie which only made the other 3 more protective of him. They were all incredibly talented and stuck together through thick and thin.

In the 1970's the only openly gay rock star was Elton John. David Bowie said in an interview that he was bisexual and later wished he hadn't because it hurt his career in America. Freddie wasn't recognized during his career as a gay icon, but he has become one in today's more open society.

Talented and smart. Each member of Queen is a college graduate. Brian May Dr of Astrophysics, Roger Taylor studied Dentistry (hence the band name Smile...before Freddie) , John Deacon Electrical Engineering, and Freddie studied Graphic Art and Fashion design (which aided him in creating the Queen logo !) Never got to see Freddie with Queen they came to Baltimore one time. I was 10 or 12 and my Dad agreed to take me, except (now these were the days before the internet....you had to listen to the radio to get news of concerts) the show sold out in less than two hours, They had two seats left. The last row in the upper balcony, and I said no. I wanted front row seats. (This was when seats cost 25 - 30 bucks...sooo yeah) never got to see Freddie.🥺 My second chance came in 1985 at Live aid. Had my tickets, air fare, a place to stay and became deathly ill. Wound up in surgery for 8 hours. 😭 Years later I did get to see the Brian May band in a very small venue and was like three rows back from the stage on the right side...which is actually stage left...Brian always plays on that side.. I was a very happy girl that night ! And for my birthday one year my sisters and brother bought me tickets to see Queen in DC with.Paul Rogers ! 🤗 cheers !

With a powerful voice and charismatic presence, stands out as the greatest frontman in Rock and Roll history. Once he stepped on the stage, the audience knew that they were a part of something special. Having over a four-octave vocal range coupled with a flamboyant personality, Mercury kept his concerts alive every second.

I’m 48 years old and my older brother saw them when I was just 2 going on 3 here in Fort Wayne, IN back in early 1975, the year he was graduating high school. He then saw them again in later that year in Indianapolis (I think he said). I’m freaking jealous because I absolutely love Queen and Freddie-So much so that I’m an artist and planning to do up a Queen tribute illustration). He said seeing Queen live was one of the best shows he’d ever seen.

While Montreal 1981, Live Aid 1985, and Wembley 86 were absolute epic performances, I saw Queen in Denver in McNichols Arena on August 30, 1982 and they were no where near as good as you what you see here. I understand that they could not be expected to have a classic performance every time and so I get it that it would be hard for them to get too psyched for a Monday night concert in Denver in the middle of a long tour. I am still glad that I got to see them in what was a very good - although not spectacular show, but as you can see from all their live videos, they were capable of absolute brilliance if they chose to. I believe they did the best job on Under Pressure
