Fun fact: he wrote this song about his boyfriend at the time * don't come at me saying he's singing about himself. he had to make it sound like he was singing about himself because everyone was extremely homophobic
This song seems just simple, light and short, but it has great lyrics, is sung by the whole group perfectly, and has some tricky guitar work. I love it, especially when the vocals blend together such as the "there he goes again" part. Absolutely brilliant.

Played this song to my 4 year old son yesterday. He said it was a stupid song, and that he didn't like it. But when he was playing by himself afterwards, I heard him humming "Ooh love..." I think there is still hope for the future generation.
Good. I am 14 and I am my dads favorite child because I am the only one out of his 3 daughters, who listens to music like this. I don't even listen to pop music anymore.
+Alex J. I usually say that as long as he doesn't grow up to be a social democrat or a drug addict, I am OK with anything he turns out to be (it has alliteration in our native language, so it sounds a lot better).
Whenever I'm asked why I still love Queen, I play them three songs: Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy, Fat Bottomed Girls (or Killer Queen, if I think they can handle the weird), and Don't Stop Me Now. Once I finish, I point out: "One for every mood." Even if it doesn't convert them, it at least gets them to respect the pure power of Queen.
Pretty much my three favourites (counting Killer queen) right now! I knew of Queen for a long time but never really listened to more than just a couple sonfs. Now, for the several days I've been listening to them extensively and I am soooooo ashamed I haven't done that much earlier!
I love the fact that I've seem so many comments along the line of "this is such a classy/sweet/etc love song" and I just here it as "I'll wine and dine, then we bang" Seriously I can't here this as anything other than an account of all his various forms of foreplay
Warphorn Dude, the song literally has the lines "we can do the tango just for two" and "sit on my hot-seat of love" I'm pretty sure sex is at least an underlying theme in the song
Danielle Royer Yeah but I think the point was that today it's obvious, I don't wanna be that guy and say "MUSIC TODAY SUCS AND ALL OLD MUSIC IS GODS GRACIOUS GIFT OF LIFE" But most music today or at least the majority of mainstream music are more explicit about sex. On the other hand, these lyrics were indeed amorous but not so much bold as today's lyrics.
1tsM4gic I started listening to queen because my math teacher had a record player and I couldn’t get “Dont stop me now” out of my head for days and then my dad told me about how he loved Queen growing up so I looked into more songs and found “we are the champions” , “another one bites the dust” and a few others and for Christmas I got a record player and I really wanted a queen vinyl so I searched one up and saw the songs it had so that when I bought it I would know the lyrics, but on Christmas my parents had already gotten me the queen vinyl so I found many new songs like “somebody to love”, “good old fashion lover boy” as well As some I already knew like bohemian rhapsody, killer queen, we will rock you, and bicycle race but the one that caught most of my attention was crazy little thing called love because for many years when I was like 5 or 7 In Mexico I would always wake up to someone playing that song outside and I never knew who was playing it but I really liked it. so thank you to my dad, my math teacher, and random person from Mexico for introducing queen to me
If he was born now everything would have been completely different he wouldn't have been the same at all!! See how music has changed if artists nowdays would've been born in same generation as freddie they might have made good music sure it depends on the person but also on when they were born
this song makes me feel like a gay guy in the summer in the 1970s writing letters to my bf that lives hours away with homophobic parents so no one can know were lovers idk why
HenKaya Exactly, which is why I said 'then again, that's my opinion' anyone is entitled to like whatever music they want. I don't care what music other people like really. As long as they don't insult the music I like, I'll just ignore them really.
I love the fact the good omens community has claimed this song in honor of our ineffable husbands. I think Freddie would have loved the fact that his song would be used for Crowley and Aziraphale as it sounds like the song was made for them!
Just reminds me of one of the happiest times of my life. Let me set the scene. I'm sitting in the passenger seat of my dad's 2 door Camaro, slipping in my queen Platinum edition CD into the player. Skipping ahead to this favorite song of mine, I start singing right in the car, my father gathering his things to come bring me to my final day of school at 8:20 in the morning. It's warm. For the first time in a while, it's warm. And I'm looking up. I'm looking forward to moving on from being bullied, from experiencing all of the pain for 4 years straight. June 20th, 2019.
@@kadeisstuck8802 yes, you're absolutely right. The fact is that when I commented little did I Know about ancient Greek culture. Thanks for correcting though 🥰
@@saml.4464 Uhhh cool thanks it was less of a correction and more of just kinda awkwardly interjecting in a conversation that wasnt mine to share a fun fact yaknow
I know that some people already pointed it out, but this is the perfect song for our ineffable husbands. It fits Aziraphale and Crowley so bad! This song is the only thing that's keeping me from losing my sanity after the end of season 2. I hope that they confirm the release of season 3 soon🤞
@@riversong4997 I will explode too if they don't get a happy ending, if they don't all the fans will probably start a riot😅. But I believe in Neil and his extraordinary writing ability so I'm sure he will create a perfect ending for them
some other bops that are similar to this one from queen are you and I, somebody to love, you’re my best friend, and seaside rendezvous if you’re interested in listening to more from them✨🖤🖤🖤
I always whistle this as I'm getting ready to take my girlfriend out. If I'm meeting her after work, you can find me dancing, and whistling this as I mow people's lawns. Probably looks pretty damn goofy, but who cares.
alan ho jesus christ man, if you're just going to pretend that you're smart at least, get your math right 2:56min=176sec*808=142,208sec*1min/60sec=2370.133min (which is around 2,370min:8sec) *1hr/60min=39.5022hrs (39hrs:30min:8sec) which is still virtually impossible to accomplish within one day btw
My little brother and I used to dance together to this song, and "I miss those long, hot summer nights" makes me think of the time when Queen was first introduced to us and that was all we would play. I really miss those days. :(
I'm sure Crowley wrote it in the 80's when he had a huge crush on Aziraphale but he was too embarraseed to keep it for him so he gave it to his friend Freddie and told him to do like if it was one of his songs.
They were the inspiration for Romeo and Juliet in the show's canon and I refuse to believe anything else. Also Crowley and Freddie were definitely friends.
Me: I mean I kinda get why the fandom associates this song so much with Aziraphale and Crowley because of Crowley's love of Queen and just Aziraphale in general. Me after hearing the "dining at the Ritz" line: Oh. Nevermind. That's why.
@@ariameeks549 they're characters from a book by Terry Pratchet and Neil Gaiman titled "Good omens", which has been adapted into a mini series and it's awesome you should check it out
when I was about 9 years old, my mom had a cassete tape with something like 30 Queen songs recorded. This one was my favorite out of all, but it was the last song, and for some reason the tape would stop playing at about 2:00 into the song, so I was never able to listen the last minute. Today I suddenly remembered about this song, and after a long search in the Queen channel I found it, and I was finally able to listen to the last minute. Also this version is so much better than the other one on Queen Official Channel
@@blayneraml1901 hey. why dont you just leave the internet if youre gonna be treating other people like that, hm? they did nothing to you on here and in real life. what theyre saying effects nor includes you in any way, so leave them alone.
@@blayneraml1901 1. Is not a movie, it's a series inspired on a book with the same name, you should cheak it out is really good. 2. Don't compare a band (which in my opinion is the best band in history) with a tv show, they are different things xd 3. Many people comment about Good Omens becuase all the soundtrack of the show is basically Queen songs, and this one in particulary fits perfect with the (love) story of Aziraphale and Crowley
So, I'm really not much of a Queen fan at all, but I am absolutely in love with this song. It gives such a warm, hopeless romantic kind of vibe. It just makes me feel some type of way yk LMAO (this also reminds me of Attack On Titan so yk, currently crying 🥲✋)
