I’ve listen to this song thousands and thousands of times and it stills brings a tear to my eye. One of Freddie and Brian’s most poignant songs. Great reaction…
This was fantastic! Haven't heard this song in 30 plus years. "The Works" LP was one of QUEENS' best IMO. It featured "Radio GaGa", "I Want To Break Free", "Hammer To Fall", and "Machines" among other great songs. I agree, It's quite an emotional song that really makes one think about what the hell is going on in the world, and why we can't seem to get it right! THANKS SO MUCH.☮☮☮
It's usually Roger who is the political one in queen and this was a great song from Brian and Freddie. It's disgraceful how slow we are at improving things. There are steps gone forward compared to the past but it needs more of us to pull up the backsliders and keep pushing for more changes. Sadly the song just confirms our anger but hopefully someone or a few more let it change some views they may have had.
Thanks for reacting to Is This The World We created I can see that it had the same sweet sorrowful effect on you as me. I heard it on a 1992: "Various Artists" compilation album called "Earthrise! "Save The Rainforests" lots of other great tracks on it including an amazing song by Shane Mc Gowan, of "The Pogues;" called "Silent scream!" I would recommend watching Queen at Live aid when he sang the song with Brian May! He didn't sing it with Queen but later on with Brian May in front of 80,000 people. Beautiful. If you ever heard the song: "When The Music's Over, by The Doors 1968. They refer to the planet being pillaged etc! The native American Indians had some shared beliefs that we are only the custodians of Mother Earth and we should leave her better than how we found her! If they hunted an animal or fish, it was to eeat or make clothes. They always give thanks to the spirit of the animal or fish! The future generations are far more worldly and in tune and conciencous (cant spell it) Their prowess with the internet etc may be a reason. Then there's the respiratory illnesses and the weather patterns etc. I don't think that all is lost yet. Many young minds come up with many new ideas! That's enough of my waffleonology. At home in Ireland young volunteers are tidying up around beaches, rivers and canals gahering all the litter that was dumped in them. Some farmers are designating parts of their land to the wild! Take care!
Amazing collaboration by Brian & Freddie. The performance from live aid is a must watch. Possible live aid work around. Don’t put live aid in your title or use their pic for the thumbnail. Lol. It is an amazing performance & illustrates how Freddie seemed to absorb the love from the audience. “Why do those in power screw over the people?” Bc it works for THEM. And long term….pfffft they only seem concerned with right now.
I am a new viewer, and just subscribed to your channel today. I am really enjoying your channel alot and your reactions to the new wave 80's stuff. I have watched most all of the 80's new wave videos now. It was great to hear such bands as China Crisis. Depeche Mode, and others. I would really like to hear you react to the band Skafish. The song "Disgracing the Family Name" would be great to see your reaction on. Also, Skafish's song "Joan Fan Club" with the "Introduction". It's a song about the lead signer (Jim Skafish) himself. Thank you for doing the 80's new wave songs, and I will continue to watch in anticipation. In case you haven't heard of the band Skafish before. It is pronounced Skay-Fish.
