Yes! I remember since I was like 15 I told everyone how they're missing out if they only listen to Queen's hits. There are a lot of hidden gems that were not released as singles.

A brillant voice, a lovely song, a perfect arrangement and a masterpiece! I don't think Freddie could sing this song this emotive, because he would sing powerfully, but this song needs a soft and sensitive singing style, and Brian has done it that way amazingly! I've always been amazed how could Brian May's sooo simple songs be that beautiful!

@@nermineismail972 I don't agree with you, sorry :) Brian didn't have a voice as powerful as Freddie, so he sang this song this "soft" by kinda technical obligation. I do know "Don't try so hard", Freddie sang that song with a soft voice in his falsettos mostly, but still not as emotional as Brian's soft voice.

Wow what a lovely song!! Freddie had that dynamic voice that no one could match but Brian was amazingly gifted with his soft, yet powerful & passionate voice. I love the songs where he sings lead vocals, like Sail Away Sweet Sister and '39. :)

Amazing song, about the reality of life, it's sentimental, but not in a "woaz me" kind of way, just that life goes on, children leave home and pursue their own lives, it is, initially tough, "On the one you're leaving home", but in families were true love was given there's always the hope of tomorrow, when "Johnny" comes home (with his bride, with a bride "with a child", etc.) . Really poignant story, but not mired down in overly sentimental laments, Bria in's songwriting is unique and though his voice is certainly not the ocatve range of Freddies, is certainly a fine tone to this and other of Queen's songs.

I've always thought that Mr. May wrote this song about his parents not supporting his musical career, and therefore, they stopped talking to each other for a couple of years. Whatever it is, it's a really good song; Mr. May is incredibly virtuous.

Amazing album.....released in 1978 the year I graduated high school and just turned 18. Happy bday to me !!!!! Spent hours and hours trying to keep up with Dead on Time. My 28 year old son listened to the album on a drive to Orlando last October and was so impressed. Then I played The Game and News of the World. . . Now, please correct that one lyric before I go nuts LOL
