You are quickly becoming one of my favorite reactors. It's clear you are here for the music and you know what you are talking about. Thanks for that! It's fun to watch you on this Queen journey. At some point you need to check out Barcelona. Freddie collaborated with Montserrat Caballe a famous opera singer. Barcelona was the song he wrote and performed with her. Incredible vocals from both.

I'm still not the one yet? Haha. Thank you for your kind comment. It has always been about the music. I am happy you could feel that. If it's in your heart and you really want to express it. It will flow. 1st time listens are difficult and nerve wreaking. The Queen fans are looking and the world is too. I hope to continue to explore their music whilst listening to other genres at the same time. This channel embraces that. Thank you for your suggestions they have been noted. Really is a shame Freddie passed the way he did.

@@HAP3SPEAKZ I have always been a Queen fan, but after the movie came out(which I have a love/hate relationship with) I started really delving back into the Queen catalog and found a new appreciation for them and fell in love with Freddie all over again. I didn't really appreciate his and their mastery until recently. You are doing a great job! Although, I love Queen, I am also a lover of most music and finding intelligent , genuine reactions is a difficult thing to do these days.

stormy081464 Same here. I was a fan during my teenage years but then I got married and had children and I lost touch with Queen. The movie reignited my interest and I’ve listened to all their albums, I’ve got the DVDs of their concerts and I’m such a huge fan now. Now that I know more of their back story, the movie irritates me because so much of it is not true. At the same time I’m grateful to the movie for bringing them back into my life, and that it has exposed a whole new generation to their music, a new generation of fans have been born

Leona that describes me 100% I just finished the book "Somebody to Love" and that made me realize all the inaccuracies in the movie. Plus the movie made Freddie look mean and petty in part of it and he wasnt. But it started me back on this journey so I'm grateful also.

About Barcelona, not just the song, but a whole album. The liner notes for the second version of the album have some interesting things to say. I'll share a little bit in case anyone is interested. The first album was recorded in 1987 & released in 1988. It was done entirely in studios, with minimal accompaniment, just piano, synthesizers, drum machine, a few strings, a small gospel chorus, and John Deacon on bass for one song. One critic called it the weirdest album of the year. How it came to be is interesting. The short version is that Freddie heard Montserrat sing, fell in love with her voice, & let it be known that he wanted to meet her. She got wind of it & they set up a meeting. Meanwhile, Freddie made a tape of himself vocalizing in falsetto, with the idea that she could sing it. It became Exercises in Free Love. He played it, she loved it & asked if she could sing it at her upcoming Covent Garden recital. He was thrilled. She put words to it in Spanish, & called it Ensueno. She asked him to write a song about her home town, Barcelona. He did. Then she asked how many songs were usually in a rock album. Oh, about 10. "So you write 10 songs and we'll make an album together." What a challenge, but he was up to it, and we got that first album. Then in 2012, for the 25th anniversary, someone decided to remake the whole thing, with full orchestra and no synthesizers. They kept John in, and Rufus Tiger Taylor, Roger's son, replaced the drum machine. This second release is the one that is most often recommended.

Cool reaction! It is nice how you notice the bass as well. John was such a quiet member of the band that a lot of people don't notice him (yet he is often voted as one of the top 10 best rock bass players). In fact John was actually hired because he was so quiet, the rest of the band didn't want someone to interfere with their style and limelight. Roger's falsetto was pretty amazing in the 70's. Yes, a lot of Queen's music is really timeless! Not all of us are that old, some of us just like Queen's music! lol I know Ben Ben is still pretty young. You have to see some heavy metal Queen that is something you have not done yet, this is an awesome one, Son & Daughter and Modern Times Rock and Roll live at the Rainbowm1974 mashed together: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6feQipHx3Xg.html. Freddie wrote In The Lap Of The Gods, the song actually has a sequel, In The Lap Of The Gods Revisited (I personally like the revisited version slightly more). This should be interesting, both songs were originally from 1974, but for some reason Queen decided to start performing this song again in 1986. It is like young Queen against much older Queen. In The Lap Of The Gods Revisited live at Budapest 1986 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PNV8vITiojM.html.

You will have no problem with doing the One Vision documentary with regards to spoilers because you’ve already listened to the song, I’d love to see your react to it from a sound engineers point of view. But try and get around to the Wembley live version one day. Like all Queen songs, it’s even better live. Actually, on that note, there is one song I don’t prefer live. Death On Two Legs. The lyric video of that one is imperative. Queen’s first manager was robbing them blind and the song was written by Freddie who was really, really pissed off. It’ll make your hair curl

It was rewritten as Queen's first foray into an audience participation song, which they perfected later with We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions. YES. Thanks for this fantastic reaction :D This is Roger's famous falsetto. (a Falsetto is the Voice that you make when you are in Head voice BUT Even HIGHER than Head voice.) I swear if you show this Song someone without saying anything they would believe it's from last week 😂 7:13 you just reached a C5 that is nothing compared to what Roger did (I know you edited it but still that was the Note C5 😂) Roger hit an A5 which is REALLY High. At least for me because I have a deeper Voice than Freddie and Roger. I can still reach that note tho. (my highest note is D6 at the moment) You never heard Roger doing that but that was a part of Queen that they ALWAYS Had in the Beginning when they Started. Roger always did High notes in the beginning of Queen but in 1979 He kinda stopped. He did do some High notes after 1979 but just not as much as he did from 1971 to 1978. So he had done some more but he didn't do it frequently anymore. Until 1981 He had his Falsetto. But in 1982 he lost them :( hehe I'm making this so dramatic. Well he has a High Voice in general so everything he does is actually a High note 😂😂 He did some E5's F5's and G5's after 1982 and those are still pretty high notes. I want to talk more but I would spoiler some songs and i'll not explain that stuff until you get to those songs. So yea basically Roger's Falsetto in this one is one of his most recognizable. Just as in Bohemian Rhapsody Opera part every high note (girl voice) you could hear was Roger. I request *_Queen - My Fairy King (Official Lyric Video)_* because as I said in their early days Roger would do High notes frequently which is why he could have them so Long. (when you stop training your Falsetto it gets lost of course and since as I said Roger stopped doing them frequently and didn't train it, he lost them) BUT Freddie could sing just as high as Roger and even a Note Higher AND Till the end of Queen. So we Have a Roger that had done ANGELIC High notes in the beginning and after Roger stopped Freddie would do them. Either way they both are fantastic. This In The Lap Of The Gods is the First Version of the song, they had done another song thats named In The Lap of the Gods... Revisited. But it's just not as good as this one imo (so that means if you will get any requests to check out another In The Lap of the Gods it won't be this one, this is the only time they had recorded the Video to this Original Version while they performed this song.) 4:58 this is known as _Roger's Angelic Falsetto._ Thanks that you said my comments are a pleasure to read :D The last thing I have to say is that in the song that I requested now ( *_Queen - My Fairy King (Official Lyric Video)._* ) You will instantly get shocked in the beginning of the song AND IT IS NOT A GUITAR , PEOPLE SWITCH THAT UP TO A GUITAR WTF. But I'm sure you'll instantly notice what it actually was 😉 (Random useless fact: _My Fairy King_ was in their First Album)

No problem Ben! Thanks for this suggestion. And I want to make sure I give all those that take the time to comment, a proper shout out. It`s the least I can do while I am on this journey, right? Hope you enjoy. Yep as I said, I hope some people after the video play this song to somebody and don`t tell them its Queen. I can bet you any money they will think its a modern day song. Never would they think its from 1974. All 4 were exceptional musicians, I expect nothing less from here on out. I am having fun with these reactions, and that`s what they are. Real, raw and honest reactions. I go, where ever the music takes me. I am sure you feel the same way, in fact I think everyone does. But to capture that on camera, and share to the public is really hard to do. So with that said, yep I do enjoy your insight and history. And as I said before, I am sure you are a trusted voice. Stay well.

@@HAP3SPEAKZ Yes :D I wanted to add a thing to my Comment, As you can see in this Performance Freddie plays the Piano so well. He is so damn good at Piano and people should see that too instead of saying he is just a good performer with Voice. Sadly Freddie himself said he didn't think he was that good BUT I'LL NEVER UNDERSTAND IT😂😂 I MEAN LOOK, how is that ''not good'' 😂 I also wanted to say that your reactions always make a big smile on my Face every time. Queen is really fantastic. I grew up with different kind of stuff and EDM isn't really my thing, but I found some really cool EDM songs that are like no other and I really love them. Music is really special. And I would say to myself too that I'm a trusted Voice. (if you mean it in the way that I think you do) I think you mean that I speak out true facts and great info's and that I'm a nice guy right? well thanks and I think that too. I would say for my age I'm really mature in many ways.

Well whomever is saying those things, should be addressed promptly. I'm sure you inform them of his ability outside of just being a performer. @ben1ben
@ben1ben 4 года назад
@@HAP3SPEAKZ *Yes we laugh together,* I don't laugh at you. Your laugh makes me laugh and it is not that I laugh ''at'' you. So, we laugh together. And I think Queen wouldn't have ventured into EDM, I mean they were almost everywhere but still I don't think so. The reason for that is, Probably a year ago or so Brian May released a new Solo Album and it was just the typical rock that you expect from a Queen member. Maybe if Freddie was around he would try it Solo. But In the Group name of ''Queen'' I don't think EDM would've been a thing there. But who knows, I just speculate from how I know them 🤷‍♂️

Their is another, completely different version of this song “In the Lap of the Gods Revisited” and I suggest live at Wembley or Hammersmith if you want to check it out, but I love this version. Roger’s falsetto is hair raising isn’t it? That’s Roger doing the high Galileos in Bohemian Rhapsody. Queen did 6 or 7 shows back to back in Tokyo once. By the last show Freddie’s voice was so shattered that he couldn’t reach the high notes so Roger would fill in. Freddie said he would just open his mouth and Roger would sing it, or Brian could even fudge it with his guitar. There a video of it, I’ll give you the link. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VCP0wrsWYwg.html. You don’t have to react to it, but you might enjoy it for the insight it gives.
