What's so amazing here is the people in Rio don't speak English as their first language. Yet, they are singing the entire song word for word. Freddie had the best showmanship and connection with his audience. Great reactions here!
I saw Freddy and Queen on several different uk tours in the late 1970' until 1986 at Wembley. This song is a favourite of the crowd and is sung word for word with Freddy and Brian May by the crowd. Its always a very very special moment as it shows Freddies command over the crowd and the love everyone is feeling.Freddie was the greatest frontman ever and this song demonstrates that to perfection . I have been in crowds of 70,000 when this has been sung by a largely English audience so for this song to be sung word perfect by 300,000+ by a largely South American audience who first languages are either Spanish or Portuguese demonstrates Freddie talent, personality and character and the world wide success story that Queen was and are
This was the legacy Queen left behind. The interaction between Freddie and the crowd was truly amazing. So much love is overflowing in that concert. No words can describe the happiness I'm feeling right now. This was one of the most beautiful moments in rock history. Huge Queen fan here.
This song was & remains a very special one to Queen fans. It’s simple yet beautiful & Freddie & Brian’s charisma captivated audiences everywhere it was played.
Watch Somebody to Love Montreal 1981... mind blowing. And Roger Taylor's vocals while drumming will astound. Oh, and no other band has had each member write a #1 Hit.
You should absolutely check out "Green Day Crowd Singing Bohemian Rhapsody [Live in Hyde Park 2017]". The crowd is insane!! I promise it will blow your mind how cool it is
I second this suggestion!!!!! You have a crowd who paid good money 💵 to watch a Green Day performance and while they are waiting for the band to come on stage the filler music played to keep the audience entertained until the performance starts the crowd starts the party early to a Queen song. Epic is all I can say!!!!! It just shows the POWER of Queen!!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!!!😎🍸
I was 12 years old and I lived very close to where Rock in Rio was, and I went to 3 days of the event with my parents, and among these days, there was the day of this Queen presentation! Unforgettable!
The thing with Freddie, was not just that the crowd worshipped him, but that he reciprocated their feelings, which in turn drew their best response. A true entertainer. One of the very best in history. I have been a massive fan since I first heard Queen back in 1973. That they named their '75 and 76 albums after Marx Brothers movies was pure genius and are probably my favourite Queen albums.
If you haven’t yet, watch the July 1986 Wembley concert. 2 hours of magic! I wish I would have been able to see them in concert 💛 love your reactions!!
Queen in a league of their own really although there were a plethora of fabulous bands with such great musicians, singers and showmen. As this is about Queen, perhaps you would check the video of 13 year old Karolina Protsenko with 'Don't stop me now'. No vocals but a charismatic street performance with panache and such showgirlship!
I love your reaction to this. I have to say that this is also my favourite Queen song. I think it's just the purity of a voice and a guitar - stunning performance by Freddie, Brian, and Brazil.
You 're so right insane connection with his crowd his voice is outstanding I've heard it so many times and I feel chills all over you have to do more queen freddie mercury he was aged music musical genius you have alot to hear this band is the best ever existed his voice is just not human keep going good reaction thanks ❤ 💙 ♥
The band faced themselves with the biggest audience ever, there were around 250 000 - 300 000 people singing along and Freddie himself was surprised about their reaction. Pls, check out Somebody To Love at Montreal 81. you will love it.
Saw Queen with Adam Lambert last year and they were brilliant. Freddie would have been proud of how brilliantly Adam sang his songs. Brain May sang this as a tribute to Freddie you could hear a pin drop.
What a beautiful moment , i wanna cry so bad everytime while i'm llistening this song ❤❤❤ Freddie looks so iconic while controling the crowd of 1,5 million people in front of him while singing main lyrics of this beautiful song ❤❤❤ it's so so heartbreaking and so sad that 6 years later from this huge live performance , entire musical world lost king Freddie 💔💔💔 there won't be another Freddie , who rocked the in a recording studios , clubs , and stadiums , i call him - the best musical entertainer of all time 💔💔💔🖤🖤🖤 thank you so much Bisscute for sharing with us , this pure magic of joy and love ❤❤❤
In London waren etwa 72.000 Zuschauer, in Philadelphia knapp 90.000. Das komplette Live Aid Konzert haben weltweit ca. 1,5 Milliarden (!) Menschen am TV gesehen. Ich auch.
I hasten to say it, but, there will Never be another Front Man like Freddie Mercury! He was Rock-n-Roll's ultimate performer! Thank you for recognizing this!
This was about his wife and life long friend Mary Austin, who stood by him after he came out as bi-sexual. He still loved her but she got with another guy and had kids, and he did his own thing.
Rock in Rio 1985 Back in these days there were not much English talking people in South America AND the knew each single word of the song! This song is the sound of succes 🤞🏾 🤞🏾
Would you Please consider reacting to the amazing voice of George Michael singing 'Somebody to Love' Sadly, George has passed away, but he left us with this Brilliant rendition of an amazing Queen song.
I don't think it could beat it, but probably the only other live performance of theirs that can equal it comes from their Wembley slot fromthe Magic Tour, when they played Radio Gaga to a packed croud of several thousands. Once again the audience interaction was very powerful, but in a different way to a very different kind of track. You have to see it to believe it.
Remember he's singing about a man he's in love with...the world thought he was singing about their own life..but it was a sad song about his own life. And because of the world..he couldn't have his love.
In an interview, Freddy declared that this was the best performance of Love of my Life in the band's history! This moment is considered a legend in Rock in Rio until today by Brazilians.
I disagree with him. His best live performance ever of this song in my opinion was their 'Queen at Wembley' gig in 1986.. Totally amazing! But I understand why, The Rock in Rio gigs were some o the biggest in the world and the crowds were wild and that is a pinnacle for rock bands, But their performance at Wembley was far better.
Estimates for the audience range from 325,000 to 400,000. You can almost imagine that promoter saying "it's a tough audience tonight" Freddie "hold my beer", he then proceeds to command every single person with a movement of his hand. He was an exceptionally gifted performer, in my opinion he is the greatest showman of them all, his voice could blow anyone away. He was a complete one off and so sadly missed
