Annalena Wagenblass no, it is freddie lyrics messing with john curious when chicken feet babe the focus goes to Brian, sex position the focus shifted to roger. inside joke?
Michael Belperio That’s not what I meant. Of course I know about Disco Deaky, everyone in this fandom does. But what I mean is: John isn’t just ”the dancer,” he’s the one who plays the bass,he’s a precious soul,he’s kind and shy,he’s more than just a underrated member, just getting real deep right here.
Was scrolling, reading comments last week and stumbled upon a person whose user name was "That Rotter Freddie" Cracked me up! I love the line AND the way Roger says it. SO FUNNY!
thats actually how good musicians work together very often, you often have an idea but dont know how to bring those words out to describe it so you just..try to describe it. if the other bandmates still understand what youre trying to do, these are good bandmates i think and you work perfectly together. dont know if that makes sense the way i wrote it right now but yeah.
And on 6:08 Roger tries to tell Brian how to play guitar. Guitarists must find it funny too. Bottom line they listens to inputs from their band mates. I think that what make them lasts.
Seo Jun as a drummer I wouldn't say he's the best I mean at the time he was great but you had Keith moon and later to come carter beauford but still he is a fantastic drummer.
+scott sailer They did use drum machines occasionally on a few songs in the 80s though. But yeah, this is the best example we ever got of how they worked together and it's great.
There is an Oberheim DX sitting on the bench at the beginning of the video if I'm not mistaken. What's wrong with drum machines? Queen used them from time to time.
They did, and also synth bass. And most of those songs just aren't their best - Hot Space album (apart from Under Pressure) and several other songs throughout the 80s. Roger Taylor and John Deacon were so good at what they originally did that once they started to experiment with other means of recording, the output turned out inferior in my honest opinion. Not that there's anything wrong with various tools, it's just that Queen strong side is surely live instruments and creativity that comes with live playing and improvising. Makes me wish Freddie had played more piano in the 80s records.
Joe Fury Look, this has gotten out of hand, I didn't mean it. Let's just back up a few steps and think this through. It's gone to far, no-one was mean't to get hurt!!
Elevenstrings V Though he already had HIV here...and you can see the muscle wasting already starting in the temples of his head....the skin dips in deeply in his temple area. He did not know he was infected yet at this point but had most likely already been infected, initially, six years prior to when this video was recorded in 1986.
These guys had a language they all understand, because it's hard to put musical passages into words. They also have a lot a respect for each other, they were very close friends. They were the kings of overdubs, crating choruses of voices and guitars. This is a very interesting video, warms my heart to see & hear them playing.
There is something pleasing and robust about Deacon's bass playing. I dunno if it's the way his right hand is positioned or something, but it's brilliant. That guy is just fantastic.
It's mostly about using his thumb there and for the most part of a line staying on the same string. And then you get idiot teachers saying that "using your thumb on your fingering hand is incorrect and you shouldn't do it because you'll get bad habits"
This is how real genius work. In harmony. Creating masterpiece. Not like these kids nowadays who let other people write the songs for them. Anyway roger face at 12:33 when freddie was explaining something (we will always wonder what😂😂) his face was like "what the hell is talking about?" Then "y-yeah...😐"😂😂😂
I nearly watched this a million times... I still love it... especially the "one sex position" freaks me out everytime... LOL at 17:20 the fun begins ;-) LMFAO!!! ;-)
Well a vast majority don't even write or even make their work anymore, they pay others too. They just sing the song then boom, in the charts. No soul in the song, no personality of the singer is in the song, it loses a quality.
Thank you for uploading this kind of material. Is very useful for producers and musicians, all over the world, to see how the best bands, engineer, process work togheter. Hugs from Argentina!
One Man one goal one true religion, One dump one turd to fit John Deacon, yeahyyeahyeah Chicken feed me. One heart, one soul, one sex position. One flash, one light one god that one religion One shrimp one frog one clam one Chicken yeahyeahyeahy ha! One Man one goal one Vivivivivivivivivi Vision :D I kinda think these lyrics are even better than the original :P :D
I love how everybody is just chillax and out and laughing and doing who knows and Brian the only one in the studio being all serious with the guitar and piano
Did you notice that at 17:55 Freddie is wearing a shirt and John a white t-shirt, but suddenly, at 18:16 they have exchanged their clothes while freddie is still singing and the others playing? they were simply the best!! Regards from Catalunya!!
I absolutely love this. Seeing the four of them bicker and talk and change lyrics and add lyrics and seeing Freddie searching for absolute perfection in every aspect of the song is wonderful.
I find this a very fascinating video. Not only do you get to see them in the studio and looking at how things work, you get to see 4 incredibly gifted individuals working together to make the song One Vision sound right
what a nice video. What a pity that at that time those making of stuff were not so usual as nowadays, so they would have filmed much more behind the scenes cool stuff like this. It's lovely to see them creating. 14:53 - Roger: "REAL decision"; Freddie: "No, it won't fit". Yes, it dit fit ;-)
17.30 I really love Roger's reaction when Freddie and Brian make fun of him couldnt make the lyric get along with the rhythm. He just beong sooooooo cute!!!!
Wow... what a rare behind the scene's look at the creative forces of one of the all time greatest bands in Rock n Roll!! Awesome song! People think that laying down tracks for a record is so easy. Nothing good ever comes easy! How cool is it that the lyrics morph completely. Poor Roger... Freddy changed up your lyric's. LOL
My band mates wanted to fight after I changed some lyrics around. :D It was too rough (profane) and not girl friendly. So, in the end, they trusted my vision of which direction the song should travel. Roger seems to have relented and trusted Freddy's gift and talent for lyrics.
Yeah, I've been a fan since the 70's. Listen boy.....anybody can make a mistake. So, what if I misspelled his named. Go take your anger out on your little sister, punk.
What in the bloody hell are you two going on about? Can't anybody just sit back and appreciate the damned music. My comment about Freddy changing up Roger's lyric's was not inteded to start Rock and Roll WWI. I thought Roger handled it graciously. But for the life of me I cannot figure out how you two bozo's managed to turn this around and make it all about you and your feelers. Grow up.
What the heck is John doing at 7:14 ? Hahah! oww...they were wonderful together, intelegent, perfeccionist and so much tension, to me if there's no tension in the room, there's no chemistry...
That little smile Freddy gets when someone nails the music he imagines is so uplifting. Imagine being Roger Taylor coming out of that and seeing Freddy so happy with what you've done.
***** Okay.....i do care about the music, and if your not blind you can notice Deacon is not the most handsome fella but i find him cute and there's nothing wrong about finding a band member cute is quite damn normal...
Say, I like The Beatles more than Queen. But watching the former and the latter in the studio is like two different worlds. Musically, I align with The Beatles, but oh my word Queen's process is just pure art. They think about everything. They craft their songs. Sure, The Beatles did too, but a lot of credit for that goes to George Martin I think. He had to force them to re-track at times. Freddie and the gang are just hard working and unstoppable, and then multiply it by talent... Incredible.
Oh my God!! Freddie Mercury!! The BEST voice ever. Amazing. SIMPLY IRREPLACEABLE. Fantastic talent. I mean, Bohemian Rhapsody....come on! Sheer genius! Lyrics and music! Jeeze...he died so young, so unfairly. :0( How do you miss someone you didn't even know?!
I often wonder who Freddie was closest to in the band. I think him and Brian clashed a lot, but that's to be expected in a band. But I think it was Roger who Freddie got on with the best.
michelle88960 Roger always said that Freddie was his best friend. They were friends before Queen was formed. They had that flea market stall in Kensington, and I believe, were roommates for a time.
For those who think that success comes overnight. This is fkng hard work. Folks. Queen dint just happened. It’s busting your fkng brain to get it right.
Perfectionist for all of us! The making of a song with Freddie is golden. Shall never see him again in this role-relish his presence of someone who really cared about his fans and wanted everything perfect! He really did us justice.........
This footage is awsome!!!, they always did a painstakingly job to make each song...first they look wandering on diferent aproaches...and slowly move to the right direction...I love to see Freddie taking care on the drum process, the way Roger share ideas with Brian...and honest John giving the credit of the creation to the rest of the band!!!
The part where Freddie talks about videos sometimes creating a different image of the song than what the listener wanted is so spot on and the main reason I never liked to watch videos.
