Malcolm, something you would no doubt cherish in years to come, proud memories indeed sir. As an Australian with Scottish heritage, I find myself repeatedly coming back to watch the massed pipes and drums tribute to the Queen Mum at her funeral. Absolutely stirring stuff. Kind regards.
When the Queen mother died in 2002, I was a boy and I saw in the news that "Queen Elizabeth of England died", so I thought it was Queen Elizabeth II that passed away. And when I saw the British monarch alive I thought "hadn't she died? Did the queen resurrected? Is she a ghost? (after all, I was just a little boy at the time) and only later I realised it was her mother that died (I'm not from England or the UK so I didn't know about her family).
@@thingsicantfind9545 I had a good look at Harry and saw no sign of trying not to laugh .how hard it must be for royals who are grieving, but cannot show it when the eyes of the world are on them.
2billion tuned in for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridges wedding can you imagine the viewing figures for HM the Queens funeral. I certainly will be in mourning when HM passes away.
I didn't bother tuning in for that travesty of a 'union'. But I was most certainly in front and centre at Westminster to pay my last respects and final farewell to this very great lady! God rest your soul, Dear Elizabeth, Queen and Queen Mother.
@@MrSEANDEERE the CW countries will send their military PDs if that is requested, as the Queen is the Commander in Chief of all her Royal Military Forces far and wide.
I have always had a very deep respect for her Royal Highness the Queen mother... She remained with her subjects even after Buckingham Palace was bombed by the Luftwaffe...
Very moving farewell. Nothing like the skirl of the pipes to move the British soul on occasions such as these. A very appropriate farewell to the Queen who stayed with her people when the German bombs were falling on London.
God Bless the Queen Mother! I remember well when she passed away and was very saddened by that event. I watched the funeral and the people conducting the funeral paid great respect to this wonderful lady. May God continue to comfort, Bless and Protect the Royal family!
@@Mancunianblue u pay 60p a year to them... more money falls out of ur pocket a year , stop whining , at least look up how much you pay and where it goes , they produce £500million for the economy in tourism alone.
@@onekie5787 l'd like a say in whether l'd like to contribute 60p a year to an unemployed family living a life of luxury and rubbing it my face. Also that old,old argument that these parasites bring millions (500 exaggerated) into the country, do you mean London? GET RID.
@@Mancunianblue actually just googled it , estimates range between 400million and 1.8 billion.(tbf i think its more on the lower end of that i think about 500-700) so u dont want money to come into the uk if it comes into london? it would be better off without the money at all? ok. plus money gets distributed around the country , people move. if ur life is so great ur biggest problem is losing 60p then i congragulate you sir for achieving a perfect life.
@@Mancunianblue another point , most of the money the taxpayers pay doesnt actually go to there "life of luxury" it goes to the running of the houses/palaces , salary of the workers , and large events such as coronations , trooping the colour etc aswell as state trips and such
You now have your family back together once again. Your Elizabeth has come home. Queen Elizabeth was a gift and we (I) thank you for her we watched her do amazing things in her 96 years.
Eternal glory to our beloved Queen. Always in our hearts, with a wide sense of thanksgiving to God for her long, brave and happy life. May God bless UK
The pipes play the somber "Oft In The Stilly Night". "Oft in the stilly night ere slumber's chain has bound me, sad memories bring the light of other days around me".

Sad that Newsreels are not shown in theaters anymore. British Pathe and British Movietone produced great Newsreels covering world events. All the earlier Royal funerals on RU-vid before this one were done by Movietone & Pathe. Movietone was bought by the Associated Press and Pathe is an Archive. I saw a few Newsreels in theaters before they stopped showing them. End of an Era as it was killed by television! Not as many theaters too as in years past.
I feature this recording in my book "Scottish Music Yearbook". The book takes the reader on a year long journey through the music of Scottish composers.
Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth the Queen mother. The only part of this funeral that wasn't filmed was the laying of the funeral wreath at the tomb of the unknown warrior the next day. Laid by our monarch HM QUEEN ELIZABETH II at the Queen mother's request. God save the Queen.
For those who might be interested the Crown on HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother's Casket is Queen Mary's Crown, it's the Queen Consorts Crown that will be used by the new Queen Consort, Queen Camilla, now that HRH King Charles has been Crowned, many people have forgotten that the Queen Mother's Husband, King George VI served abroad a Battleship at the Battle of Jutland during WW1, the Queen Mother's brothers were killed in France during WW1 and she helped train Nurses for Field Hospitals while Queen Mary helped fund raising for the Veterans with disabilities, Field Hospitals and requested that members of the House of Lords open their Houses to recovering Soldiers who had been wounded in the Fighting, which included several Castles across the British Isles, Prince Philip served in WW2 as a Lieutenant and Lieutenant Commander abroad a Destroyer in the Mediterranean, while Queen Elizabeth served in the Army Axillary as a Military Driver and could strip down a Truck Engine and repair it if necessary, RIP King George VI, the Queen Mother, Prince Philip, and Queen Elizabeth II
In her case longer than for most actually and what a way to go. When i saw this funeral coudnt help but think about thevmass graves i saw recently in New York where people who died of covid19 are being buried. We may not be equal in this life but i sure hope we are equal in the after life.
What beautiful piping. Stirring. I wish I'd been there to see it. In the footage shown I saw a shot of Prince Harry with his head lowered. I wonder if on that day he was reminded of the funeral of his mother. I bet he was.
Why don’t the makers of hearses design a higher backed hearse so that there can be a raised deck , this would allow the coffin drape to hang over the edges and not be trapped beneath the coffin
in 2022 There is something strange and interesting at the same time Has anyone but me noticed that Queen Elizabeth II died at the same age that she became Queen of Britain in 1952, if we start counting the years from the year Princess Diana was murdered in 1997 to 2022.. It's really interesting and weird
The death of Queen Elizabeth II.... 25 years after the death of Princess Diana, Princess of Hearts and Minds in 1997... This news is the most widely circulated in this century... It came true today and became true on September 8, the ninth month of 2022 AD....

2002. Charles couldn't marry his ho till she'd gone, as it was no secret that Q.M. despised CPB. I bet she rolls in her grave every time CPB wears her favourite tiara, which was the Boucheron Honeycomb Tiara and is also known as the Greville Tiara. CPB has snavelled it along with the Delhi Durbar Tiara from the Crown Jewels .. probably the two largest and most diamond-encrusted tiaras in the entire Royal collection. But I don't know how QEII can possibly allow her to foul her Mum 's tiara!!! Perhaps seeing her wear it makes her hate her even more!
Not so late to be honours a queen mother in this decade 2022.be God give a pleasant world at back of this world-paradise if you a once of belive and believed a soul of God. Amin. (Idah jason wife) 2022 Jun.
