Is this live? OMG his voice is absolutely flawless! Absolutely perfection! Everything is flawless! It’s beyond comprehension. I can’t think of anyone else who even comes close to this! I am blown away!!!
angela and this was in '75 when they were really finding their way in the live shows, they played like they had been together for years an not just 3!! as you rightly say just perfection 👑✊🇬🇧
Too bad some people can’t get serious about the energy and mood of this performance. An artist like these guys can get there. As an artist. This piece of music is magic! It’s like your back in that era. His emotional state is awe strucked. Probably hard for some guys or girls to feel this. These guys didn’t get it. What’s new. . .the world is full of ??
Not Yes... or Who.... just Queen!!! Brian’s guitar, Roger’s drum, John’s bass and the amazing Freddie’s vocals and the piano..!!! They wrote in history music with their talent, quality, creativity and diversity One writer said: not progressive or metal, not blues or gospel, not pop or rock; Queen found their own sound.. and no matter what music styles was, you can recognize it was Queen!!
Brian wtote this. This about a girl he like in college but was to shy to approach her. The solo between Freddie's piano and Brian's guitar is soul reaching.
Queen II is my favorite early Queen (like, pre-'80s) album. Taken as a whole it almost feels like a Dungeons & Dragons quest. White Queen, Ogre Battle, Fairy Feller's Master Stroke, March of the Black Queen, Seven Seas of Rhye are some of the songs that evoke that kind of poetic, fantastical lyricism.
Perhaps my very favorite Queen song...the guitar and piano in this is so hauntingly beautiful. Album Queen II 1974, though Brian wrote this song in like 1968 or 1969.
This is soul food. The music is so pure, Freddie's voice is perfection. This better be playing at the Pearly Gates or I am turning round and heading downstairs !
paula johnson ... like always... your words are so right!!! “This is soul food”... I couldn't say it better!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Big hugs and kisses to you, dear friend!!!
Some people complain that there is no footage of Brian's solo or Roger's drums during their jam on this video. I guess the camera guy fell in love with Freddie right there...
I saw them twice in 74 and 75. Just amazing. They did most of this album. Various costume changes. Amazing performances. Don't know of anyone like them anymore.
It is weird how good they were at so young of an age. It is almost like they were visionaries transmitting these awesome sounds or sonic waves we now know as "classic rock".
White Queen was from there second album Queen II, the album in my opinion is underrated such a great album, I love this song love seeing Freddie on the piano
Awesome reaction guys! I am glad you guys reacted to this song. This is from the Queen II album (1974). The album does have a lot of progressive rock, it had a black side and a white side. More examples from this album are Ogre Battle (this song is also considered as one of the first thrash metal songs) and the Fairy Feller's Masterstroke. The most progressive song on this album is The March Of The Black Queen, the song has 11 different sections, it is very complex, therefore they never performed it live in full, but it is a great song. Their most progressive albums were Queen II (1974) and Innuendo (1991). They surprisingly went back to their heavier progressive sound for their last two albums. For something a bit different please react to Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow 1974 and Ogre Battle live at Hammersmith Odeon 1975. These songs are considered to be the first thrash metal songs. It is proto thrash. Stone Cold Crazy live: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T8Rfb1Jtmic.html Ogre Battle live: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-551gRH3dGEE.html (This is from Queen II) For something with that more heavier Black Sabbath sound, you guys need to check out Son and Daughter and Modern Times rock and Roll, this from their first album Queen I (1973): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6feQipHx3Xg.html (They were known as a very heavy band).
Yes!! So glad you finally reacted to my personal favorite Queen performance! I love this whole concert at the Hammersmith and Queen II is my favorite Queen album. You just don’t hear music like this any more. The lyrics and the instrumental moves your soul.
Such a great song, it is falling in love put into music. I love their 70's era and Freddie's 70s look. May I suggest you some of their lyrics video : March of the black queen, The prophet's song, Flick of the wrist and Death on two legs, too complicated to do live but so good. I am glad you are diving into Queen's catalogue, we are in for many more great reactions, thank you guys.
This sound is unmatched by anyone - it simply can't be duplicated. Freddie's vocals and his passion, along with Brian's guitar work. This is an amazing live performance by the entire band - period. Brian and his father built his guitar. The wood came from the mantle of a fireplace from an old English castle. It is a one of a kind, but his sound comes primarily from the Deacy Amp. John Deacon, the bass player was an electronics major at the University and he built a special amp, also one of a kind. He use to use it, but gave it to Brian very early on in the band's formation. Brian used this little amp to create many of the sounds. Listen to "Good Company" from The Night at the Opera album and all of those sounds like trumpets and trombones and the entire roaring 20s jazz sounds are all Brian on the guitar with the Deacy Amp. Brilliant work. There is no argument, he is one of the greatest guitar players of all time.
Love this song. It's from Queen II, their second album, 1974. Freddie wrote The March of The Black Queen. The album had "white side" and a "black side". Black Queen has lot of transitions and tempo changes. I don't think it was ever performed live, but it is definitely worth listening to.
This was off their second album Queen 2. This is Brian Mays favorite album. I have to agree with him. A lot of great songs that I can bet you’ve never heard. Orge battle is one song on this album that’s great. Be warned, this album is very different from their more commercial albums. Very rock and different but in a good way!!
White Queen was on their second albums. Very early. The live performance was Christmas Eve 1975. Freddie had a glass with champagne in it when the song first began because he did a Christmas toast. This was their first live TV show that the BBC invited them to do on the heels of their blockbuster smash Bohemian Rhapsody. It’s the only live performance that Freddie plays in depth on the piano. He was a fabulous piano player, but he never thought he was very good. Please do Now I’m Here live at Wembley 1986. It’s a great rock song with awesome guitar and drums.
Rover Waters Which other ones did he perform a solo with or without Brian? All the others were the cords to the song he was singing ie Somebody to Love, We Are the Champions etc. Let me know as I would love to see it.
@@mmaloneym I love the medley of Lap of the gods and Seven Seas of Rhye at Wembley 1986. Its a short piano solo at the beginning of Seven Seas but still amazing!
Name of the album: Queen II (1974), witch to me as a huge Queen fan, is the best one they ever made. Highly progressive. There is a track on this album called; "The March Of The Black Queen", you guys really should listen to. No synths or whats-however, just overdubbing and layering, at some point according to drummer Roger Taylor the 16 track tape was completely blank, lost all of it's oxide layer due to all the layering and overdubbing they did. Unfortunately because of that, the band could never play the complete song live, same happened to Bohemian Rhapsody. But you will have to admit that already in that time, Queen was way ahead of their competitors.
Remember this is from the chirsmas eve live show 1975, not many cameras no messing with the sound! Live show on bbc 2..... Amazing 👍 not meny bands could do this in 75..... Queen did and they were brilliant 👍
Night at the opera came out in 75. This was probably the tour for it. I have all their albums from 1 to Live Killers, bought in the 70's. Queen 2 came out in 74. Their first came out in 73. Sheer heart attack came out in 74, as well.
It's on Queen II. The White Queen is on side one,, March of the Black Queen on side two. The album tells a story,, kind of like the fight between good and evil. It's a amazing album. And yes, similar to early Genesis and Yes. Fun fact, Roger Taylor was offered the drummer spot that was eventually given to Phil Collins. Roger turned it down and stayed with Queen, the right choice.
I would like to see you do “Staying Power” Live at the Bowl at Milton Keynes 81. It is super exciting. The guitars and the drums are on fire and Freddie is totally awesome.
From their early work I like songs Great king rat, My fairy king, Lazing on a sunday afternoon, Nevermore, Seaside randevouz. If you want to hear Brian singing - the song ´39. If you want to hear vicious Freddie I recoment Death on two legs (in this case I prefer studio version). I also really like the song Let me in your heart again, the song was realesed in 2014 (I think). One more thing, I realy appreciate that you listen the whole song and then you tell what you think about it. I hate reactors who pause the song so often (sometimes I think every 15 sec) to tell what they think. In my oppinion thy couldn´t enjoy it.
Early Queen:In the lap of the Gods,Keep yourself alive,Seven seas of rhy Stone Cold Crazy,Tie your mother down,Ogre Battle,The Prophets song and more😁Love your Queen journey😁Thanks guys❤
Glad you both enjoyed it. It is one of my favorite Queen songs. You guys should listen to the Ferry Fellers Master Stroke from the same Queen II album.
Take a listen to You Take My Breath Away - Studio & Live versions are both awesome (and completely different). The vocal and gtr harmonies on the studio version are utterly beautiful. Make sure you listen all the way to the end - there is a an Acapella part at the end that is like angels singing.
Here is a link to Under Pressure. Back story. Queen were in the recording studio and David Bowie stopped by. They were talking about doing something together. John Deacon started playing a riff on his bass. They thought it was great. They went out for pizza and when they returned Joh forgot the riff. But Roger remembered it and the rest is history. Though they recorded it they never preformed it live. Roger basically sings the Bowie part. The riff may sound very familiar to you. Vanilla Ice stole it for Ice, Ice, Baby. Queen let it go and didn't go after him ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OVzvoPP6M50.html
