Queen Sundays! First Time Hearing Queen Tie Your Mother Down Reaction 

This is one of my all-time favorite Queen songs. Everything about it is just perfect and the lyrics always make me smile. Thank you for this reaction. You are pretty close to right on the meaning of the song. The guy is into the daughter and the parents and little brother keep getting in the way of him being able to get busy with her. He has decided this needs to be the night and nothing is going to get in the way. "Get your party gown, get your pigtail down, get your heart beating baby....its gotta be tonight my little school babe." Brian wrote this song and brought it into the studio. Freddie liked it and asked about the lyrics and Brian said all he kept thinking was "Tie Your Mother Down and of course we can't sing that." Freddie said, "Of course we can Darling" and the song was born.

Freddie, Brian, Roger, and John made everything they did look so easy, but they're gifted! Freddie the Great is a legend, but even though they don't know it, so are Brian, Roger and Deacy. John Deacon is so humble. Bless you (for the sneeze) it was cute!

Brian came up with a riff and the line "Tie your mother down" but it was kind of a joke he thought they could never use in a song but Freddie said of course they could! Which, of course he did ;)

Tie Your Mother Down transitions from the Wembley’s concert opener of One Vision. This one-two punch by Queen has the crowd craving for more!💥💥🥊. Queen’s motto is blind, deaf, & dumb them … then you have the crowd right where you want them (something like that) Great reaction, Rad!! 👍👍👍

Love this song and their live performance! 😍 Rad, if you get a chance - watch the 2nd night’s (Saturday) performance. The cameramen had a better idea of how to get the best shots and you can also see the pyrotechnics at the end of this song. Btw- Freddie ALWAYS stands by Roger when there’s pyro involved. Once back in the 70’s the crew both miscalculated and mistimed the pyro - they literally blew Roger out of his seat and onto the stage. Freddie exclaimed “They tried to kill Roger!” Ever since, he always stands right in front of Roger!! (I believe you can see Freddie abruptly turn and look back in the Official video of this song, followed by Brian looking back. Of course, the “accident” was edited out of the video. Freddie is wearing a white jumpsuit or “boiler suit as he called it)

Freddie was absolutely a gift from God. He gave him the extraordinary talent to sing, and he used it to his fullest….and it’s that voice & showmanship with Queen that we all love.

Freddie the Great is exactly that, GREAT! The G.O.A.T. And so are John, Roger and Brian, they are LEGENDS in their own right. The utmost professional musicians. Brian wrote the most crazy-hyper-energetic lyrics and then Freddie made them explode with nuclear energy. Glad you're back.

You must have seen this iconic signature style of Freddie 6:47 in fact there's a statue of King Mercury in this posture in Montreux!!

Many times I wonder how Freddie can breathe and sing when he's going so fast. I especially noticed it during Somebody to Love in Montreal. The guy never stopped!

At 3:07-3:08 did anyone see the brilliant catch from Freddie someone threw something amazing 🤩

The began their show with this song when I saw them in 1977. From that beginning they owned the crowd as they always did.

I love this song, and love this as the second part of opening for the concert. But this IS one where I like the studio version much better. Again, love it live, too. Every time I hear it. Don’t @ me. But the studio version is a little less hectic sounding. This is also one of the VERY few Queen songs where there’s a cover I like almost as much. Joe Elliott of Def Leppard did Freddie proud singing this during the Tribute Concert. He had the perfect rock voice to cover it well.

A great rock'n roll song by Queen. If you want to hear a slightly better and sharper version of it I highly recommend the live version from Rock Montreal (1982). Better sound too.
