Once, long ago, I was driving on a long trip and "We Will Rock You" came on the radio. I did what everyone does, of course. I turned up the volume and sang along. But then, to my shock and dismay, they didn't play "We are the Champions!" but went to a commercial break instead. I felt cheated! This was in the days before cell phones so I couldn't call the station to complain. Apparently, however, the station did receive several complaints. Right after the commercial break the DJ apologized to everyone and then played both songs properly. I'll bet that was a lesson he'll never forget.
@@objectsgocrazy im sure there's other radio stations that do as well. I meant in the way that Jack FM will only ever play both songs. Not just one or the other.
My father has passed on now. One of my best memories as a child was him buying me News Of The World on vinyl and Pop Rocks from a Kmart in Lexington Ky when I was a child. Wow. Miss You Pop. Miss you Queen. Miss you Freddy
I love how when We Will Rock You plays on a classic rock radio station, We Are The Champions plays right after. It's like they have to be played together.
I was a kid my dad use to play these 2 nonstop....crazy im feelin his feelings reminisin...bad ass songs...probably the greatest pair ever...freddies voice soulful like paul rodgers. Love it...
I was 12 when this song came out, and when I first heard "We are the champions" I hated it so much. I'm still not the biggest fan of it, but at least I can tolerate.
" Queen Rocks!!! " I was 12 in the mid - to early - late 70's. When I heard; " We are the champions " ; We will rock you " and " Crasy little thing called love " , Well you know I was hooked then and been so since then... Great Stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
December 2021 and this song still gives me chill's, goosebumps and although Queen was before my time they were and will always be a huge inspiration in my music career and life!!!!🤘🔥❤ Freddie Mercury and the rest of Queen were ahead of their time and will forever be epic and timeless!!!
In 1979, after I was awarded the top history award in my senior year of high school, something I bled, sweat, and paid the price for, I went home, locked the door to my bedroom, and cranked this up as loud as I could get it...thank you, Queen, thank you, Mr Mercury...music matters...you mattered, and always will...I will love this song, and what it meant, and continues to mean...''I consider it a challenge before the whole human race, and I NEVER LOSE''...one of rock music's great lyrics...
That's because though they were recorded together they are not the same song and radio stations have time constraints. However it happens quite often as well that they are played together on the radio.
I remember hearing this for the first time in late 1977, and I thought to myself, "This would be a great song to play at Baseball games and other sporting events. And sure enough, they played this song at all Yankee games the following year, and when The Yankees won the World Series in 1978, they played "We Are The Champions". It's been my favorite by Queen ever since.
I BELIEVE YOU WHOLE - HEARTEDLY MY BROTHER ! THE SAME THING HAPPENS WITH ME ! I LITERALLY THOUGHT OF TALKING & SINGING POSTCARDS A FEW YEARS BEFORE SOMEONELSE THOUGHT OF AND EXECUTED THEM. AT THE TIME , I COULD NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT GREAT IDEA... And Others....
Remember hearing this song after my little league team won first place. As a kid, there was no better feeling. One of my favorite memories from my childhood!
I remember these two songs being played in tandem, widely on radio, circa 2003. So many sports teams had embraced "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions" and used the song (they melded the pair into one song) to exhort fans to cheer for their clubs. My sweetheart had an animatronic figure decked-out in Philadelphia Eagles garb (wearing Donovan McNabb's #5) which sang out "We Are the Champions". This figure is lost to time but I have a crude digital snippet of 30 seconds or so in length recorded on a Palm Treo 650.
Tengo 25 años a pesar k no son mi generación amo a este maestro fredy mercury.. Dios santo k voz.. Increíble apasionado todos sus conciertos QUEEN. Son increíbles todos
I remember the first time I played this on the radio, brand new album, and the songs segued. I was like, oops...well, they sound pretty great together! 'Been playing 'em that way ever since!
every high school football team who won would have this played on the radio that night and they kept doing it through the 80's when I was in high school and I am sure they still do it today, I think that should tell anyone how awesome Queen is.
One of The Greatest Songs Of The 80s Decade And Best Theme Song Ever For The Champions of Any Sports Team Winning a Title For Being The Best.. Thank-you Freddy Mercury For Giving Us Your Best 🤘
This will forever remind me of the Penguins winning back-to-back in 1991-92. They were playing this all over the radio, and we were singing it at school. LET'S GO PENS!!!
After watching the movie recently, I can't believe just how much the bloke playing Freddie Mercury looked, acted & most of all, sang just like him as well... Actually, the whole Band looked just like the real one's & it IS A MOVE THATS WORTH WATCHING OVER & OVER... SOOOOOO LOVE HES VOICE, AMAZING...
Another Classic Queen Song; Raw Talent At It's Best. So well loved The major professional sports leagues in the United States have adopted it as their theme song that alone expresses the power of these songs!
My Senior Drill Instructor played this while we stood on line at attention in the squad bay the night before Family Day at Parris Island. Thank you Senior Drill Instructor SSgt. Alger. Get some 2121
One time, I was listening to the radio and they played We Will Rock You and did not play We Are The Champions. I went down to the station and throttled the DJ.
2003 Illinois High School Football Championship Class 1A went to Galena Pirates. On their return trip from Champaign, IL (5 hours), they sent a request to the local radio station to play this as they are now close to home. We were waiting to join the car caravan, and just happened to have it on the radio as they buses rolled by ! Quite the event. Go Blue !

I'm a bit late, but you could download the audio file for this youtube video, then post it on spotify, maybe? I'm not sure how spotify works, so this probably isn't possible.

At the end of the State wrestling tournament in North Carolina they played this for the Walk of Champions. The top 3 finishers from each weight class were spotlighted. I get chills everytime i hear these songs. I was All State my senior year and i finished 3rd in North Carolina. 🏆
I'm a huge queen fan thanks to my parents, so naturally I have them on my playlist. I was picking my fiancee up from work and this song so happens to be on when he says "This is the worst band ever terrible music" I stopped the car n told him " I think we need a break " anybody that isn't down with queen isn't down with me
I went to a very large high school in Chicago . 1974 to 1978. This song came out in 1977. In 1977 and 1978 the whole lunch room would start chanting "We Will Rock You"! About 500 students. The 100 liked Disco. Ish!
