Luno L - The first two "OK's", "how's that?" "should we use the old intro" and the "1, 2, 3, 4" were John, not Freddie. Their voices are totally different. John also plays the guitar in this song and wrote it. John's voice is more nasal, a different pitch and his accent different.
It's because his voice was manually tuned with software such as Melodyne or Antares plugins and such; this is a 2017 release. It definitely sounds very good when the tuning on Freddie's voice is properly done and it's not horrendously applied like the '74 Rainbow show or the '76 Hyde Park show. The Spread Your Wings alternative take from the same 2017 NOTW 40th anniversary release is also pretty likely tuned, and that sounds great as well. If you're curious, the 2019 re-release of Time Waits for No One is also pretty tuned, and that sounds great as well. You can compare it to the original one (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CCXkIoPPz88.html). Crazy what some tuning can do
@@federicaschena8653 - Absolutely. John has both a different accent and unique voice. John's voice is very nasal. It is also John playing guitar on this one.The first 2 "OKs", the "1, 2, 3, 4", "should we use the old intro" and "how's that?" were John as well.
@@kilgore1863 You know I'm looking back at this comment right now, and I don't know why I was surprised about it. I guess my thought process may have been because the song is from the 70s it shouldn't sound this smooth, but in retrospect, that's a dumb reason to think that. There are obviously thousands of songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s that all sound high quality. My original comment is a bit daft I admit.
I think seaside rendezvous would be too difficult to do live, so many tracks but I might have been possible if Brian did some on the guitar... But would have loved to have seen this song like just as a duet between John and Freddie like Brian and Freddie's to do with love of my life and is this the world we created...
Yeah, lots of overdubbing be strange noises Roger and Freddie were making that would be difficult and strange to do live but maybe if Brian could emulate the sounds on his guitar it could have been possible but would still have sounded a bit scuzzy and raw...
The melodies that Queen makes are different! We Are the Champions - Freddie Mercury I'm in Love With My Car - Roger Taylor Save Me - Brian May You're My Best Friend - John Deacon Wow!!!! Four really fantastic songwriters!!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
if you want to sing along, here are the lyrics: "la lala la, uhu uh hu, lalala, uhu uhu... uououo, balalalala, danana, dadadam lalala, who needs you?!" :-) thank me later! ^^+gg
The underrated Deaky on display here. Great song, great rythem, he said he couldn't write a rock song but he sure wrote some cracking pop songs as a nice counterpoint to the other 3's different unique styles
Whoever gave this a thumbs down doesn't understand or appreciate true geniuses at work. First time hearing this version, and it's like paradise to my ears! Hearing Freddie and John make comments is absolutely everything!!!! I'm in love with this version. Wish there was an entire album of outtakes, bloopers and acoustic versions of Queen's music. Imagine all of the edited out clips of music "sitting" on the proverbial cutting room floor! 😍
John and Freddie wrote quite a few songs together- Freddie liked John's songwriting and the two collaborated on alot of songs. Some just didn't make the albums or concerts . We miss you both! ❤
John and Freddie, amazing version. Thanks for sharing. I loved this song since a I was a child. This version is a diamond. Freddie is telling us the song carrying us on a little white cloud through a sunshine day. Clear he loved the song. Missing John and Freddie in July 2022.
I keep listening to this over and over again... LOVE this version!! Beautiful Spanish guitar! (judging from this version, I think that IS Deaky playing, and not Brian. Sources say both of them played, but sounds like this practice session is just Freddie and Deaky.)
Greetings to John from the USA. Wishing you a very happy 69th Birthday and a healthy and happy year ahead! Thank you, John, so much for all the beautiful songs you wrote, even the ones that never made the charts, because many of those songs are our favorites. Thanks also for your wonderful basslines that made each and every Queen song sound so extraordinary...and a special thanks for all your very entertaining dance moves! You always danced around that stage like you thought no one was watching, but we are all watching you now, and missing you so much! Please stay safe and enjoy spending time with your family. ️🎵💚🎵💙
What a treat! Charming beyond measure. Freddie's voice is perfection, and combined with Deaky's lovely guitar and speaking voice ... I'm just over the moon! Thanks so much for posting this.
I am making my rounds through the Queen catalogue - another beautiful gem “discovered!” ❤️ I am usually not a fan of acoustic versions but this one is gorgeous! Freddie is just gloriously perfect, the voice of an angel. Brian and John on the Spanish guitar (from what i read online) and then they added in maracas and a cowbell. 😳 Once again Queen doesn’t disappoint with their creativity and amazing musicality. I had to go find the final recorded version and it’s amazing as well. I have realized that with Queen you didn’t get one song - you get maybe 3 or 4 versions. There was the studio recording and then the live performances where their genius really shown through. Brian, John and Roger would be astounding on their instruments and then Freddie would accentuate a different note or add some inflection or draw out a phrase and the song was raised to a new level! It’s extraordinary!! ❤️👑❤️
@@hippo_nuggets I think there are actually at least two acoustic guitars here playing similar but not identical parts, panned left and right. Both presumably John, who was really quite good on guitar. I am curious who played the bass and maracas but I assume it was Freddie and John collaborating on the demo before bringing in the other two.
There is no bass. This is Freddie, John and probably Brian on maracas. John was a beast on guitar. People don’t realize that he was probably one of the best rhythm guitarists out there.
