The queen teaches me the importance of: first showing up, looking your best, staying commited, not complaining but counting your blessings and of course, staying cool because eventually, people move on to the next drama. What a lady! May God bless our Queen.

I loved seeing the photos of her parents. It is a special tribute to them as well. I fell in love with the Queen when I saw a glamorous photo of her in “Life” magazine. I was 3-years-old at the time and I am 58 today. The 3-year-old saw glamour; the 58-year-old sees the woman. Long may she reign!

She's been my Queen for all of my life as a member of the Commonwealth. My parents, who risked their lives fighting over-seas in WW2, always made sure that we kids understood our back-ground and heritage. My Mom had a photo of the little Princesses , Margaret and Elizabeth, over my bed growing up. I was fascinated with their live-in play-house. Over the years we've grown to learn that the Royal Family has their faults and weaknesses just like ordinary families. For me somehow this has made them seem much more human and accessible. As a Canadian, I'm comfortable living under a Constitutional Monarchy as the tax base going towards supporting the Royal Family is limited. I was stunned seeing old news-reels of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth 2nd , when you can see Commonwealth Members attending from all over the world. True enough, I have met people from: South Africa, India, Hong Kong , et al, and I am amazed to discover that we grew up listening to the same music, reading the same books, and had the benefit of similar established institutions. As a former 'colonial', we seem to be far better off than people in less 'privileged' parts of the world!

The Queen looks lovely in that green color with those historic diamond brooches on...very understated and comfy corner of a room as well. The World shall surely miss her once she is gone.

I was ten yrs old when we were all called into my School Hall ,and told that the king had died,And remember how sad we were ,to see photos of Princess Elizabeth ,coming home all dressed in black and clearly distressed at the death of her father.With the Coronation coming up My Dad went to an Auction sale and got us a little brown television nobody in our street had a television ,and lots of kids from our rd came to our tiny front room to see the Queens Coronation,it was magical,when I was a child I cut out every picture of the qQueen and pasted them in a scrap book,and here we are seventy years later and our lovely Queen is still going strong Congratulations your. As a birthday treat, as seven year old, I sat up all night, in the middle of winter, with my Nana listening to the coronation over a little valve radio, on the other side of the world in New Zealand. My Nana, an ardent royalist, told my father, her youngest son, that it was history in the making. I think at the time she wanted company in case she nodded off and missed anything. Born in 1870, she lived through the reign of six monarchs, Victoria, Edward VII, George V, Edward VIII, George VI and Elizabeth II, and always said Elizabeth would reign supreme. To her, the Royal family represented the epitome of service to one's country and one's compatriots. I thank my Nana for introducing me to the delights of a midnight feast as we listened to the coronation and instilling respect for a Constitutional monarchy and I thank my sovereign Elizabeth II for her dedication to duty and service to her people. Until her death at the grand old age of 95, the coronation and being one of the first women to vote in 1893 were among the highlights of her recollections of a very interesting lifetime span. There was no need for the Internet, Google and Wikipedia, you just asked Nana. It is so nice to see the Queen, looking spry and able to enjoy the jubilee celebrations.

She is absolutely adorable, what a way to spend a day with such a jewel. Sitting with her just talking in her home. Makes me miss an adorable little elderly lady I used to get to stay with at night just so I could wake her up in the early morning to make her breakfast and then get to do her hair and hair care. I cherished her so much and cried the day I got a sweet sincere hand written letter/card from the one I got to care for. This lady reminds me so much of her and I CAN'T put her name or info in this comment section for her protection and privacy rights. Miss her cuteness most of all💝 That man sitting with her is truly lucky to get to be there with the queen just chit chatting quietly and calmly.
