I've never heard that before but I wouldn't count it out. I will ask my friends, I've been a part of the NY Rockabilly community for the last 25 years so pretty much all of my friends are Rockabillies. While I am not friends with him myself, many of my friends are friends with his brother, Gary, so I am sure someone would ask him.
That would be cool.. I'm pretty sure he lived on 60th lane in Maspeth just about 2 or 3 blocks from my house.. When the stray cats became really famous in the early 80's a few kids in the neighborhood started saying that one of the stray cats was originally from Maspeth.. In fact one day one I was hanging out with a friend of mine and he just pointed out to an older woman walking in the street and he said to me that that woman over there is the mother to the one of the stray cats.. I told him I heard that said before that one of the stray cats lived in here in Maspeth.. My older brother who was very much involved with music confirmed a few years latter that he also heard from local neighborhood musicians that Brain Setzer from the Stray cats had lived in Maspeth at one time and a few of his band followers new him personally.. Though many of the details are sketchy I'm sure there must be some validity to it..
I'll try to ask the owners and managers of CBGBs and try to find out if brian setzer ever owned a house in Maspeth queens ,once I do my research and ask my rockabilly friends I'll leave you a comment on this viedo again soon🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎷🎷🎷🎷🎷
Yes.. I know that much is true.. But I do believe he had some kind of connection with my Queens neighborhood.. He may have lived over here for a short time or at the very least he may have had some family living here that he would visit and maybe he got to know some of the neighborhood kids and they just probably just assumed he was from the neighborhood.. I'm not really sure though..
Yes there were rumors going around that he lived with his girlfrien and his astranged mother on 60 lane in maspath and he was a regular at TJs pub and MTPockets on queens blvd ,he also played at lamore east on queens blvd but he definitely spent most of his life in Maspeth I'm pretty sure ,he also spent a lot of his time playing at CBGBs in lower Manhattan 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎷🎷🎷🎸
Yes that's a great idea. He must have a email address ,there must be a way to contact him or his family, Brian setzer wouldn't mind answering a few questions about where he lived and played music
@@CLASSICS200 Thank you! And that's kind of the point, but if a simple (relatively, Brian is not on the moon, l'm pretty sure), he is not an unreachable Pope or, like Elon Musk or whtvr... if a simple act of initiating contact we're done, there would be no video. No views. No subs. No controversy. I won't pretend to get this. Even though I do.
