QOTSA opening the show with my favorite song from my favorite album. I first saw them on their Loosegroove debut tour at Satyricon February 17, 1999. After this song, I was pulled into the pit and was wiped out several songs later.
Have you seen the Setlist from this tour? This is the first time they played this song during this tour. It is also my favorite. I saw that debut in a small club in Portland in 1999.
@@skipst1 I’ve been watching those setlists like a hawk😂 I love seeing them bust out more deep cuts. Turnin’ on the Screw, Into the Hollow, I Never Came, Do It Again. All so rad!
It was the only song I could get. A pit opened up directly behind me and I got sucked in. It was pretty euphoric because I haven’t been in one in so long. I’m pushing 60 and thought those days were behind me.
Imagine my reaction when I realized that the only song I was recording was my favorite song of theirs. I had checked the setlist of previous shows and they hadn’t played it yet.
Damn that was a good show. Josh came out into the crowd right next to me while singing Straight Jacket Fitting. He let us sing harmonies and dance with him. I could feel his coolness radiating into the crowd. I patted him on the shoulder, and haven't washed my hand since lol.
The last time I saw them was in 2005 with NIN. I was so elated when they played this. It took me back to when I first saw them tour for that album in 99. Still my favorite song of theirs.
It feels like the first time for me, too. It’s been almost twenty years since I last saw them. I saw them for the first time in 1999 when they were touring for the album that this song appeared on.
Hands down, that is my favorite song by them since I first heard it in 1998. It was the first song played when I saw them last night and when I saw them in 99.
I agree. I wish I didn’t wait 20 years to see him again. I tried to see him in Them Crooked Vultures and the tour with Dave Grohl, but it was sold out so quickly.
It was the first song of the night and the first time they played it on this tour. The last time I saw them start off a set with this song, was their first tour in early 99.
@skipst1 hell yeah! And with that view I wouldn't have missed that for the world! Its funny I thought I needed a beer before the third opener, and then they played 'no one knows'.🤣
@@JoseTV I’m getting to a point where I can only afford to see newer bands. I’ve seen the Foo Fighters 4x, but they will be back next year and I won’t pay 1200 to be up front like I did in 2018 for 99. I saw QOTSA in 1999, 2005, then this year.
aww what a treat, I could see them like five times in a row with five different sets. I was at this show, a little bummed they didn't bust out paper machete its an amazing new song
