This is one of Joey's best performance. I mean it isn't 2002 Werchter at all, but Joey is really in control here, Josh and the boys stepped up too. The bass sound new on the old songs, they killing it!
Less low and mid on the newer performances. RTJ supporting were noticeably lower when I saw them last. Still had a great time, but you know, times change.
@@startervisions yep, E standard tuning vs C standard vibe, loosely. I first saw them in Wembley arena a couple years ago, so likely don't know if I've missed anything. It was incredible, even from the back.
I think for this tour he used a sunn model T. But only 2007 european festivals. After that he changed it up again. And he is probably combining it with an extra amp.
@@EOAW25 You can clearly see his trusty VT40 right behind him with the Rack-sized tuner on top. He's used a Model T in the past, and usually runs multiple amps, but that VT40 is the straightest path to that tone.
@@jv2781 I just finished my final overhaul of mine yesterday, and it's glorious. If there's a right way to go deaf, it's a VT-22. Congrats, and Enjoy man! Invest in a back brace!
@Jacky J Jones This is actually a pretty accurate representation of being completely drugfucked in the front row of a qotsa gig. It also helps to blend the sense the band is completely rollin' off their tits chewin' their faces off into the general hype of the gig. It's like a live music video of their peak party era.
Obviously; one made a career out of hitting drums hard, the other made a career and is continuing to by playing drums to perfection. Part of the reason why Grohl fits in so well, he had Joey's passion and Theodore's ability/creativity.
Floyd Taylor I do agree. I always hated how sped up songs (especially those from Era Vulgaris) were. Jon has recently shown a ton of passion though. Watch the Kalopsia performance at Rock en Seine, hard hitting, complex as fuck. Perfection.
39:50 Go With the Flowwwwwwww........yah !!!
I’ve only made it to Misfit Love, but holy hell, my eyes are already bleeding. Shame on the editing “guru” that thought this was a good idea. It’s also unfortunate ‘cause the quality of the sound over the image is 1000x better….
to bad you skipt them comming on stage. Loved that so much. The 'arrogance' & him greeting the public with: here comes the son and i say it's all right!'.
Not arrogance at all, I was there. It had been overcast all day and drizzling. when Bloc party who were on before QOTSA started their set the heavens opened and we had some serious rain, that lasted all the way through change over. As soon as QOTSA stepped on stage the sun came out. It was glorious and Josh being Josh blessed us with some Beatles before we got down to business.
I think Castillo tends to rush stuff, with all respect Theodore is a much more sound drummer and I can see why they picked him up. Also Castillo can't play song for the dead for shit
