Silent Lucidity sung by one of the great voices of all time- Geoff Tate. In this song Geoff doesn't come near to his capability in vocal gymnastics, but it doesn't have to. It's about sincerity- getting in touch with your emotions. Take Hold of the Flame and Eyes of a Stranger are two songs he delivers on with power and clarity. Worth looking into.

For those of us who are older, (I’m nearly 59) how lucky are we that this was all over the airwaves during the time that we were in our mid to late twenties, and that they (Queensryche) stayed relevant for at least a decade? That, and this was but just one song from this heavy metal orchestra known as “Queensryche” who put out literally dozens, and dozens of wonderful pieces for all of us to enjoy for an entire lifetime. Wow. So cool.
The story behind this beautiful song, go something like this. The young man playing the acoustic guitar not sure if this was his personal story or if it was a story he knew firsthand. But a young boy lost his mother at a very young age, too young to remember. But she had appeared in his dreams, and he said he felt her for real and was able to describe his mother and the smell of her to his father. The child not knowing at the time was having a lucid dream and realized it later on in life as a man.
That was my all time favorite back when I was young...knew every word but never really paid attention to the words and sang it loud when I will hear it...the day my father passed away driving to go see him for the last time before he was taken away from his home..the song came out and then at that moment I heard the words and omg I cried and yelled very loud realizing my father was no longer alive. So every time I hear this song I cry like a baby 😔. Miss you dad 😔

🎶 A round trip journey in your head …🎶 I became a fan of this band when their first album was released in the early ‘80s when I was in high school. That album contained just four songs and instantly blew me away. Those four songs were repeated on side 2 because those were the only studio recorded songs they decided to release at that moment. Geoff Tate is a very gifted vocalist for sure, surrounded by very gifted musicians. I’m glad to see your beautiful reaction and instant appreciation for this wonderful song. ❤️
