This older guy interviewing him seems genuinely engaged and appreciative of Quentin as his guest. If there were no time obligations, he'd probably treat this like a Joe Rogan experience. I would.
This clip is actually from The Late Late Show- which Snyder hosted from 1993-1999 (before it became a traditional talk show with audience hosted by Craig Kilborn.) Tomorrow was actually way back: ran from 1972-1982.
Ive seen this guy interviewing a FUCK ton of people over many different decades, i mean bro was the first to interview Charles Manson after his arrest, that interview inspired mindhunters scene with him.
Ikr! Tarantino never takes movies for granted. Filmmaking is not hit and trial for him.You either make a badass movie or you don't. There's no middle ground!!
I love the 70/80 esqe commercial breaks announcements. The authoritive baritone voice of the host, commanding the viewer to not even think of switching a channel.
Watched this after his comments about her mom, first I don't think he never gave her any money he just reitarated no elvis cadillac and house during the interview, 2nd seems like her mom is set for life since she was successful in sales, seems like 2 independent people both successful in their field, but no way he doesn't give his mom any gifts or stuff like that.
I know Connie and she is a stand up lady. She is a sweetheart. She it’s certainly not successful right now. She lives with people. She rents a room from people . He needs to forgive her. His mom is actually struggling. She lives her in my city and she needs help.
That's pretty sad. I definitely understand how Crushing or attempting to crush a child's dreams feels like from the child's perspective bcuz i was that child and i did everything in my power to prove my mom wrong. In many ways i think it motivated me to be better than her and what i saw around me. I can't speak for other's and how they should feel about their experiences and how they affected them ... The damage is different for each individual. One thing i can never see myself doing is sh*ting on a child's dream(sl / Passions. It's pretty interesting to go from this perspective of his Mom and how, imo, she was a great inspiration of how There is no Limit to what you can do and how great you can be. He did saw in the recent video that she was saying what she said in reference to his not paying attention in school. From the outside looking in It can seem harmless ... He emphasized the Sarcasm and Air Quotes, .... I think that stung the most and probably played over and over in his mind over the years. Trauma displays itself differently in everyone. And a young mind is so impressionable
Tough. Choices have consequences. You’re not exempt from that just because you’re a mother. If she contributed nothing, she gets nothing. Quentin is absolutely right.
What're you all talking about? Humiliated him? From what I know, she told him once to not pursue his story writing when he was a boy after there was complaints from the school. Because she didn't encourage that, it doesn't give him the right to turn his back on her. There's no excuse for that. He told her that she would not see any money from his movies because of that. Yet in every interview, he praises her with the way she brought him up. She could put him on blast going public now but she maintains her silence. Genius or not, Quentin should be ashamed of himself. That's not a man.
Low IQ alert.. not one thing weird about Tarantino. I bet your also one of those people that can never understand a word that comes out of ozzys mouth either. Hahaha
tick tock tick tock? anyone hear that!?? lol yoooooo Tarantino with a mustache!??!??? haha you don't see that everyday,,, makes him look like Fredo in Godfather a bit, lol
John Wayne was a far better actor than he ever got credit for. Very natural and real. Same thing with Lee Marvin. Lee was every bit the actor that Brando was, maybe even better.
You have to be high to make such a statement Wayne only plays John Wayne in his movies that’s his only character but Brando embodies the character no he becomes the character in his movies and he simply was a chameleon
@@user-uw3fr7cd9z John Wayne did stretch his talent in Red River and Searchers but I thought they gave him a Oscar for True Grit outta gratitude . Brando was a method actor and Lee Marvin was always a powerful figure , check out the Big Heat on TCM. As he tosses a pot of hot coffee in Gloria Grahame's face . He's ruthless.
What a stupid comment. Nothing wrong with him. He’s just intelligent and Americans never know how to handle intelligent people. I’m American I would know.
The dude casually said he had imaginary friends in response to Tarantino saying he created his own family by rationally attaching to other males who were in a position to be his mentor. The interviewer is cringey af.
I read a resent story about him not helping his mother. As a kid she didn't want him to write screenplays but exceed in other fields . So he vowed never to buy her a house or nothing if he became famous. He stuck to that and only helped her with the IRS but thats it . That really was a mean thing to do after his Mom raised him and gave him birth . I liked the guy though some look at him as a God but after reading that makes him a low down bastard.
I don’t think it’s mean at all. A lot of parents think everything is just one of way. They feel that just because they raise you , that gives them a right to disrespect you and say and do whatever they want . My parents never supported me at all . I always had to prove them wrong on everything I did in life. So many parents want a freaking gold medal these days for doing what they’re supposed to do in the first place lol.
Yeah, I think it's kinda wrong as well. That's one hell of a grudge to hold against your mother for so many years. And it's crazy cuz here he seems to have nothing but good things to say about her but she said one thing about his writing and he holds a grudge forever.
@@speedracer1945 There were many actors who were of his time and seemingly more tolerant though. Maybe not as famous but still good examples of why you dont have to be that way.
I didn’t know anything about his childhood but after watching hateful eight, Jackie brown and django I got a sense he must have grown up without a father and must have watched her mom bring different men home very often, specially black men. I was right.
Care to elaborate why it's... racist? It seems like you have an image in your head of what a lazy person looks like when nobodies ethnicity was brought up anywhere in this video. Maybe don't drink so much before you go on the internet.
