Any way I can buy cantology shims in Russia? I'm working as a bootfitter (ofc in our counrty this craftmanship isn't even close to what happens in US, when I speak about aligmnet my covorkers think about some body changing and podiatry) and I am totally unbalanced on 1 foot.
Sorry, we don't see direct to the general public, no matter where you are. Your local ski boot fitter can email us at info @cantology com and we will sell to them. But the need to get some training first.
Very good video series. But I have some doubts. Why don't cant internally in the boots (leaned footbed, etc.)? What are the problems that can arise from this internal modification?
The ankle works best when it's in its neutral state. Forcing it into a different alignment within the boot invites constriction of range of motion, pain, etc. That said, I've talked to boot fitters who insist they can 'safely' get up to 1 degree of cant 'within the boot'. I bet there are some that think you can get more than that. But most I've talked to don't think it's such a good idea.
