This arrived in a colourful branded box with images of the blender on the outside along with its specifications. Inside everything was packed and secured well with the grinder attachment being inside the large mixing attachment and protected in bubble wrap. The blender did not come with any instructions or they were omitted from my package, not really a big issue as it has very basic functions and apart from trying to twist the main mixer attachment off rather than lift it off as intended I didn’t really need any.
First impressions: this is a really heavy unit for its size which results in it sitting very solidly on a flat surface and keeps any vibration to a bare minimum. The design is simple but nice with the stainless steel and black giving a good contrast with the blue LED backlit dial, the attachments are both glass which I also liked as it stops the inevitable scratching you get with plastic. It is in my opinion a nice heavy, compact and good looking blender.
Once I had worked out the blender attachments lift off :) I gave everything a really good wash to remove any manufacturing taint, and was ready to test it out. The first thing I tried was a banana protein drink I make regularly, and I always mix this with ice and would normally use an electric hand blender to do this. I thought it did a good job of blending but found it did take longer to crush the ice than normal and I still had the odd larger piece in the drink, I don’t think this was due to the power which is excellent but more due to it narrowing at the base and ice not making it down to the blades. I tested out the grinder attachment and this worked really well at grinding down some nuts and I have since ground some coffee beans with great results.
I have used this now multiple times since it arrived by blending vegetables for soup and fruit for smoothes and the power and power adjustments work really well along with the pulse feature. I have found it performs a lot better with thinner mixes, and found with thicker mixes I had to stop it, remove the lid and push down the contents.
Overall this is a nice looking powerful and sturdy blender, the grinder attachment works extremely well but I did find the main blending attachment needed you to keep pushing down the contents to blend everything and in my opinion this is due to the narrow base. There is no issue with the power and it blends thinner mixes very quickly and at no point with anything did I think it struggled. Overall a very powerful blender that looks great and is easy to clean but in my opinion not ideal for thicker blending.
