If you have door open all the time that's why you don't get wet in side if you have door up and all vents closed the bivvy get wet in side if you don't have a over warp on
Incredible review Jason, really honest and informative. Good to hear that the original groundsheet is big enough to pull out to cover the footprint of the overwrap. Keep up the good work!
I have got this same one and the extended front canopy they’re great but the avid benchmark x is a big bedchair there isn’t much room left for tables or other gear guys
Will do a follow up short later as with the overwrap on and front panel off the bivvy it's way bigger and I'm.even.happier with my purchase now. Perfect for winter use 👌
As always a thorough review , the only bit missing is you ordering it on line lol . Looks a good bivvi and as you said excellent value for money. The cinder pitch in the background brought back memories of playing football there for school pe! Well done on the video matey 🎉
I have a Sonik axs and they’re identical, except the axs has a flat back which I prefer as gives you more room inside. With overwrap cost 2/3 what this does. Just a thought for anyone money conscious
Actually although similar there are some major differences which is why I wouldn't get the Sonik. I need the 150cm height, I wanted a zip in groundsheet and I like the 20,000 HH material but yes they are similar 👍🏻
Thanks for the video. I like quest tackle alot and have thier 2 man and the green defier mk2 and for the most part do like it. Only issue ive had is the poles are very soft, especially the front two for the peak which bend so easy when putting the bivvy up but the cam locks on the new ones should sort that, and i had to swap the bolts that attach the poles to the boss out for ones with a shoulder because the thread was cutting away at the poles. I also have the over wrap and generally use mine with the inner door and windows rolled up and the overwrap on, makes the bivvy pretty roomy, enough room for my bed and a chair but its a shame the over wrap has no rod straps. doesnt look like they have added any on the new one.
Great comments, thanks. I've not had any issues with the poles on my green defier but I did wonder why the DPM has the adjustable poles for the peak, so maybe that's why. And yes no rod straps on the overwrap. I'll be adding some next week for sure 👍🏻
Great review thank you. Can I ask what make of bed chair you have and size as I have a avid benchmark XL bed and Im worried for space but be interesting what you use or see a video would be perfect when you're on the bank. Thank you again and happy new year to you too.
Thank you. I'm using a Solar SP Tech bed, can't remember size but later today I will do an update vlog(short) as I gotta say with the overwrap it's even better and I'll show why. You'll also see my bed in the short.
Great vid literally about to order. Do you think you could squeeze two normal sized bed chairs in at a push? This will be rare when someone wants to join. I know gear space will be zero but is it possible to get two in? There’s no difference in spec between green and DPM? The material is the same just the colour?
Brilliant review!! I’ve been looking at these, I’m desperate to buy one, think I will go for the green though I’m not a big dpm fan, wish I had the money to order right now 😂😂
Cheers dude ill do.an update tomorrow as using it for the first time tonight and it's even better with the front off the bivvy, I got loads and loads of room. Love it big time
just a question when i set it up with front off its very tight do you leave the front on at all times and then it sets up properly other than that nice bit kit only used mine twice but rate it
I normally have the front on when I'm setting up but make sure the door is unzipped. What you do find with these is.that the material is tight initially after use it gets easier and easier to set up👍🏻
@jvacarpyadventures7045 I found that it's tight to set up but I've only used it twice but it's nice bit kit got it on the Xmas sale had no condo plenty room quick delivery nice bit kit
Hi this was a great review i was thinking of getting the fox frontier XD but now im not sure lol if you have the extended porch i was love to see a review on that too 👍
I ordered one of these, set it up in the lounge, as it seemed a bit flimsy. When up, it was very small on the inside, as all the sides slope inwards. I sent it back for full refund, I must say excellent customer service from Quest. I bought a Fox Frontier standard with peak - completely different quality, the Fox is in another league, although similar footprint, loads more room, due to flat back and near vertical sides. I know the Fox is more expensive, but far better quality and space. Great review by the way, everyone is different, thanks for taking the time to do it.
Great review. I have the DPM version, but it came with a green bag. I thought it was odd to send it out with it, so I’m jealous of yours! My only negative if the whole thing is that the groundsheet doesn’t zip to the front. Overall it’s such good quality, with lots of thought out parts to it. It’s great.
I'm it now, fantastic Bivvy... but they have brought out a Mk3 version with a few improvements including a flatter back. So maybe worth looking at that one. Seriously good quality bivvys for a great price. 👍🏻
@@jvacarpyadventures7045 cheers mate. The MK2 is only 300 at the moment with the skull cap, seems like a great deal! This would be my first proper bivvy
