This is a form of usage in English grammar which is a way of speaking informally that whether something is in consonance. It also means frankness when used in conversation. This is a good example of power of English language as a tool for effective communication.

This is great channel , isn't it and fruitful lessons, don't it .I Enjoy while I learning, weren't I and I think will score good mark in the test , won't I
Thanks a lot for this lesson! It's really good! Could you please tell me if this sentence is correct in your opinion "We'll meet at 12.00, shall we?" One of the books gives this sentence as an example of tag questions.
@@rijeshk1715 Thank you But i thought it should end with 'will we ?' As somewhere i learned the rule that have is used as a possession in Question tag.
Great effort! The first part needs to be a statement ( or sentence) instead of a question. Don't forget the comma. Example: You are going to teach more lessons, aren't you?
I wrote about it here: www.grammar.cl/Intermediate/Question_Tags.htm Positive imperative - Stop daydreaming, will / won't you? Negative imperative - Don't stop singing, will you?
Great lesson 👏🏻👏🏻 According to your lessons, you love chocolate, don’t you? It’s still too warm outside, isn’t it? I need to improve my English skills, don’t I? Woodward English is the best channel, isn’t it? ( Falling intonation...I’m sure about that 😉😉😊) You will continue sharing new lessons, won’t you?
Do I love chocolate? ....Yes, Guilty! I could use the excuse of saying it is spaced repetition learning (repeating words again over certain intervals in order to help retain them in the memory) ... but the reality is that some days I just LACK originality when I have to think of examples. :) When I look at old worksheets I created at my language school, there were A LOT of examples using parties, going to bars, and drinking wine... oh, and chocolate. I thought it would best to avoid those on RU-vid as these videos are often shown to kids at schools. Your English is very good Paolo and I appreciate all of the interesting comments you make. - Rob W.
Woodward English I am proud of following your channel. In fact, when I meet a person who is interested in English language, my first advice is to subscribe to Woodward English. You are very professional as you explain English grammar rules. Thank you a million for your compliment about my English. It is a great motivation for me to keep studying. All the best! Paolo S.
Hi, i recently did a test that had this : I supposed it's time we called it a day,.........What is the question tag in this ? A friend told me it should be : ISN'T IT? Thank you.
The first part needs to change a little. It should say "I suppose it's time..." Suppose needs to be in the simple present tense. Then it should be: I suppose it's time we called it a day, isn't it?
It was a useful video, wasn't it? She is a good teacher, isn't she? It had a lot of points, hadn't it? Tnx so much for brilliant video Have a nice day💖👌
See the Exceptions section here: www.grammar.cl/Intermediate/Question_Tags.htm We don't say "..., is this?" as a question tag. I would be interested to hear what other teachers think.
