Lincoln Riley is a better OC than HC.... that's why they're only a handful of really good HCs both in college and in the NFL. Most HCs were better as Coordinators
I just wish Colin would stop interrupting him. And now just reached the Harbaugh conversation and Colin is pissing me off! Let Joel talk! I wanna hear the story but Colin won’t let him finish.
@@rdot980 Klatt has a podcast but not his own separate channel. Colin partially owns "The Volume" which is an independent channel not directly affiliated with Fox Sports.
Nothing like Colorado, but Michigan was slowly fading into football oblivion before they landed Harbaugh. If the AD or anyone else at Michigan has a problem with Harbaugh, they need to be immediately replaced with people who can make the coach's life easier, not harder.
Joel Klatt is a college football savant. I remember when he played QB for The Colorado Buffaloes and was darn good. I can tell that he views football from a QBS prospective. Joel and Gus on Fox Saturday afternoons calling the best college football games are gold.
The craziest part about his college playing days is that he was a walk-on after playing minor league baseball. His dad was also his High School football coach; obviously football acumen runs in his family.
@@yayinternets wow. I didn't know all that about Klatt. I knew he played baseball and heard that he was pretty good and was drafted. That's for the info. Fox should put him the booth on NFL Sundays.
As an SC fan good for Deion for what he’s building in Boulder and for making sure his guys didn’t quit on Saturday. They’re just stuck in a very good conference so I don’t guy why people think he should be undefeated right now. But once they get to the big 12 next year I think they can compete immediately especially with the expanded playoffs.
@@Bobbleheads56 That perspective doesn't stick this year. The conference has multiple great-to-elite offenses this year. It isn't just a mess of mediocrity like it has been in years past. The Big12 is far worse.
I’ve been trying to get other family members to get into college football as most of them are strictly NFL fans . Every year I tried and failed. This year everyone came to me because of Coach Prime . They even stayed up till 2 am to watch them be Colorado state . This is really something so unexpected and I’m absolutely loving it . Regardless of how the rest of the season goes his first year coaching at Colorado will be a huge success . I’m a Gator fan btw . 😅
Did y’all think Deion was going to go undefeated? Headline is ridiculous of how fast you guys are trying to turn on prime for some losses. No one expected them to go undefeated even make the playoffs this year. Team will only get better
Facts nobody thought they should be undefeated this is coach prime first year … he’s building and if you think that you’re just slow .. people just gone try and turn on him because of who he is they acting like he lost to terrible teams .. he lost to a top 10 team for his first loss that was just more sized and depth than them .. then loss to another top 8 team by 7 to me that’s good I’ll take that
You do realize there was more bets placed on Colorado to win the national championship than almost any other team right? A lot of you idiots truly believed Colorado would win the national championship
Bro Colin’s hate for Panera Bread is hilarious 🤣 I pause the video and laugh real tears every single time he mentions them. It’s been happening for years and will forever be funny 😭
They are right about Sanders bringing in new fans to college ball. Im one of them. And Klatt is great to get more informed about a league I’m still learning
I mean, I agree with you, but stop. No one who hasn't watched college football before Deion are looking up youtube clips of college football sports talk. lol
@@agoo7581imagine being in 2023 and not understanding what an algorithm does 😂😂😂 all you have to do is watch 1-2 Colorado clips and RU-vid does the rest. What an idiot
@@agoo7581Uhmm…I am. I’m here because of Deion. I now watch with my husband who is a diehard Cornhusker…we’ve been married over 15 years. I now watch games and can hold a pretty good conversation because of shows like this.
Because the hype after the first 3 games was unwarranted. The TCU win was big but they werent the same team they were last season. Nebraska should never be considered a tough opponent but for some reason every year they are. And then they had trouble beating CSU. If their schedule was reversed and they lost their first two then won three in a row, no one would really be saying anything great about them right now. Agreed that anything above .500 would be a success. But there's a big difference between slight success and people putting Deion in the coaching Hall of Fame which is what people were wrongly doing when the Buffs were 3-0.
@@NothingToPointOut24 once Colorado was 3-0, I remember seeing Instagram posts legitimately asking if 2023 Colorado could beat 2019 LSU. People lost their minds. The sport was just flooded with new, loud casual fans.
@@TheBrotherHoodSports I dont care about Deion, Colorado or really college football in general. So it should probably say something where even me hears too much about a certain college football team when I dont even search it out. Its overhype. And there is a big difference in hype and overhype. Deion overhyped this team. And the first time all of the countries eyes were on them against Oregon, they got smacked. Maybe his brash flashy attitude will draw some eyes to Colorado games that otherwise wouldn't have watched, but its also going to make people see how overmatched they are when going against the better teams in the country.
Saban had a much better team. So yea…Sabans really not that great a coach. Just a top notch recruiter. Saban wasn’t beating TCU or competing with USC with THIS line Colorado has. He needs 5 high draft picks on the line to be relevant.
Translation: Lincoln Riley is being a plug-and-play offensive system manager, not a head coach He's so busy being an OC, working his little system, that he's missing the game of the week
This is why I’m not a fan of guys who are the head coach and play caller. If it’s bad or needs to make changes, who’s above the head coach on the field? No one. Head coaches delegate and step in when they need to you. It does work, don’t get me. However i think it can hurt your team if you’re only being an OC or DC instead being the HC
Joel Klatt loves talking about the Pac-12, he's mentioned over and over again they are the deepest conference in football, and is hyping up their strength of schedule over the SEC and Big 10. But do we really know that for sure? Yes, they can have many explosive offenses and many of the top QB's in the country. But can the PAC-12 play defense? We saw how USC lost to Utah late last year and their defense has not improved much. Then Utah gets beat by Penn State in the Rose Bowl. USC will have a major drop off once Caleb Williams goes pro. The PAC-12 impressed early this year, but Washington was exposed by Arizona last week and Oregon nearly lost to a weak Texas Tech team earlier this season, and still remember last year that Georgia beat Oregon 49-3 (Georgia may not be the same). I do however agree with Joel that a 1 loss Pac-12 team should get a playoff spot, but not necessarily #1 team in the country.
And the SEC can’t beat anyone out of their own conference besides bottom feeders like Cal. When they played solid teams, they got crushed. The PAC12 is incredible this year. The top 10 this year is spot on. Georgia, FSU, Texas, ND, 3 Big Ten, and 3 PAC12 teams. Funny enough is he is constantly being accused of showing Big Ten favoritism when he’s generally pretty spot on
@P51DFreak25 well said. Joel is very high on the Mich, OSU and PSU and I agree mostly with his top 10. He just spends the majority of his podcast talking about the PAC-12. I get it, he's super excited with Colorado, I get he was their former QB and it's the biggest story seeing Deon Sanders bring back the program. However, its a little over the top. There are a lot of top 10 teams who have been discussed much less than Colorado. His analysis is top notch but a little more balance would be great. It's also unfortunately possible that if all the PAC-12 teams beat each other up, we might not see how they stack up in the playoffs.
@@pacpacU He talks about most of the top 10. Probably spends the least amount of time on FSU and ND. Colorado is also just the biggest thing in CFB rn and for awhile the biggest thing in sports
Frankly, Warde Manuel should be fired at Michigan. For some reason his relationship just seems sour with Harbaugh despite the fact that Harbaugh has single-handedly made that program great after nearly 2 decades since Lloyd Carr left. If there’s any chance that Harbaugh stays with a different Athletic Director then Warde Manuel HAS to go. I know at Michigan there’s a lot of thought amongst the higher ups that the institution is bigger than College Football and it’s bigger than one team… but that’s no longer the case at any school that plays D1 football aside from maybe Harvard or Duke (although Duke’s team is starting to develop, too.) The football team is the biggest revenue generator at most schools now and you can’t afford to throw away millions of dollars because you couldn’t get along with one of the most successful coaches in your schools history, even a school who has a history that includes a Schembechler and Carr and Yost and many greats.
They’re not making the playoffs obviously and won’t win the pac-12, but compared to what they were projected to be and what they were last year, unless he loses every game going forward this year is a success for Colorado
When I found out Alex Grinch was going to USC with Lincoln Riley, I didn't understand it then and I don't understand it now. The best indication of future behavior is past behavior.
The TigerWoods and Deion comparison is spot on. All of college football wins with the attention he attracts. If he had coached Colorado a few years earlier, he would’ve single-handedly saved the Pac 12.
So happy for Mike Locksley. The guy was run out of town and seen as a failure at New Mexico. Now he is doing well at a big ten school. Probably won't beat tOSU, but still doing well for Maryland
geez cowherd was way manic on this interview. he barely let klatt finish a sentence before he cut him off. what the deal cow man? maybe have someone monitor and limit your daily caffeine intake so you don't look so weird interviewing people.
I’d definitely watch a Harbaugh game if they were to release behind the scenes. Harbaugh was a gem to watch when I used to work as a Casino Auditor lol between audits I only watch football and grew to be so entertained with the sideline. I didn’t care much about the game in all honesty.
Love Klatt, Love Colin But Colin you bring Joel on as he is the expert, stop interrupting the man. Joel gives great lines and probably doesn’t get 2-5 in a show
I love it, keep knocking UGA down a peg. 34-1 in their last 35 games and 2 national championships, but we doubt they have the talent and coaching to figure it out and stop the 4th QTR comebacks
Oh this is beautiful so we're not going to talk about the team and the coaching job or whatever we're just going to talk about the numbers and how great the viewership and bringing other people to the sport to watch it , to explain winning or losing. perfect😂😂😂
