I just want to say thank you, I had my panel early this week. I saw many of your videos, took notes and prepare my examples and my answers. Not for every LP but for the ones most job-specific. I focused on structuring correctly with Stari, and remain calm and positive. I nailed the 3 interviews. They told me I made a great impression, next day early the hiring manager called me, gave me awesome feedback and invited me to jump into his team! So I’m super happy. Thanks a lot for your videos were a life saver.

I got my job offer from Amazon!!!!!! I cannot thank you enough....your content absolutely prepared me to be successful for the interview without a doubt. If you are reading this follow her videos and practice, practice, practice! Thank you again
Just got my offer letter! Super excited to join the team, the interview requires a lot of ‘homework’ (15 pages worth for me), but it gives me confidence knowing that if they are working there, they have went through a proven vetting process. This ensures you work with the best people that mesh with the Amazon culture. I’m really excited to get started!
GG!!! I got the offer!! I want to thank you for your awesome content and the energy you put into helping the community. This work has REAL impact on peoples lives. You rock! I found this particular video helpful along with your “why amazon” tips. Between you and Dan Croitor, candidates have everything they need to be successful.
Congratulations Trevor!!! That's amazing... Well done for all of your hard work. Dan's got some interesting sources considering he's never been an Amazonian. What role did you get?
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 - I agree for sure. Your direct tips and insights from the Interviewer perspective is super valuable. I'll be going in as an L6/Sr. Solutions Arch with AWS :)
@@trevspires fantastic!!! I've had quite a few candidates recently start as Solutions Architects AWS, their updates to me suggest they're loving it. Congratulations again!!
Just came here to say I binged a lot of your videos over the past two months and they have greatly helped me get through my interview process for AWS and succeeding in getting an offer! Thank you so much for this great channel and content, keep it up!
Just wanted to thank you for your videos! I was offered a position at Amazon and your videos truly helped with the prep :) truly grateful and I’m sure your videos will continue to help many others in the future!
I've got my loop coming up in a couple of weeks, and I'm glad to see you're recommending asking openly about challenges. Honestly, there are so many horror stories out there about working at amazon it's terrifying. I assume since amazon is so big that its a 'your mileage may vary' kind of thing.
One of my AIW Academy members who just got an offer asked me something similar today. Here's my thoughts. All companies will have employees with horror stories. But the bigger and more well known the company the more and more visible these horror stories will be.
I've just received the greatest news. I'm approuved!!!! Thanks for all the vídeo and all the knowled that you share with us. Your channel and tips made all the difference to me!
Thank you so much for this video as well as a few others I had watched. I did my Final loop interview, and everyone was shocked by the questions. Interview lasted 5 and a half hours total with all 6 people. It ended in success, as i had got the job offer that night of the final loop.
Great recommendations. So grateful for all of your great content as I prepare for my loop interviews. Also, as a hiring manager at my current company, I must say that I wish more people watched your interviews and used these tips!
Hey GG..Thanks for all the great content you post in here, your videos are super awesome and they helped me so much with preparing for my AWS interview. I got my offer last week !!!! Your videos are incredibly helpful... THANK YOU ❤️
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 the answer Amazon's two way door decision making, resulting in innovation at large scale, is what surprised them after joining Amazon.
Hello GG, Fantastic efforts from your side to educate us on this complex yet efficient process. 🖖Today i had a phone screen for a L6 PM (non tech)... it was supposed to be an hour, but we were done in 30 mins {i do talk fast 😳 }... my interviewer did ask the 3 Behavioural questions, I think it went well...but not to sure if i made it next level.👀👀
Great video. I watched the video this morning and interviewed with the AWS hiring manager and peer this afternoon. I asked the hiring manager about the "traits" for success in the role at the end of the interview, and he gave me three leadership principles and one nonprinciple. I asked my peer why he joined the team and he got a little emotional as to his three years there. To close, I reviewed the three traits and other skill and briefly used examples from our conversation to address each. For example, for Think Big, "we discussed how I turned a 3M opportunity into a 46M PO" and so on for each. It seemed to tie up the one hour conversation well. I guess I will find out in a couple of days.
Going for my interview in a few days, I gotta say the amount of prep used for amazon interviews is insane, and seemingly pointless based on the skill set the current managers have haha. Good vids though
Worth it to watch it and listen to her consciously. Thank u for making an useful video like this. Let ur best effort create good impact in people’s life.
I asked these exact questions during my interview and they were very well received. I believe they helped me come across as well prepared and thoughtful, and lead to interesting answers. Got the gig!
A great video - thank you!! My first that I've seen as I'm currently prepping for an upcoming AWS interview - I will certainly be looking through more of your uploads hoping to gain even more insight/knowledge!! Thank you!
Hey Gigi, thanks for these videos. I just wanted to say that the information you provide here is valuable; however, since you say & mention a lot of fillers & context, it makes it hard to follow your point. As a suggestion, if you cut these fillers and context in between ideas out, it'll make your videos much easier to go through and follow without having to skip through a blurry cloud of thoughts.
Thanks for the feedback but I feel that’s part of my charm. My videos are like meeting me and getting to know a real person not just watching a dry corporate video. I get a lot of great feedback for exactly the things you’re not enjoying. I appreciate it may not be for everyone, and I’m sure there are others out there you can watch that have less personality. Good luck with your process.
Very nice vidio, unfortunately I've just watched the this vidio today. The last few days I have been interviewed and the hiring manager asked me to to ask some question about himself or about the company. But I said that I just want to say thank you becouse you / your company gave me a chance for the interview and I felt very appreciated. I don't know this is the right answer or not, but it was really what i feel at that time. But I really hope thet they will call me again to continue the process, hopefully
Loving your videos, also your podcast appearances, thank you! How do you know who in the loop is the HM and Bar Raiser to address the right questions to the right person?

GG, i have watched about 80 percent of all your videos to prep for my interview few weeks ago, and I have inclined for that interview. It was a complete disaster imo , the interviewer was even trying to calm me down and try to help me out too. however, imo it was a level 3 role so it had some leeway. I think I answered 2 question perfectly and the rest I just answered them on the fly. However, most of the questions on most of your videos are for like level 4 and higher. To me I have prepared for the wrong questions because they were not asked on my level 3 interview. some of my questions was : tell me a time when you gotten feedback from your co-workers or your bosses in job. the next question was tell me a time when you gave feedback to your co-workers and bosses. Well I knew how to answered these because That video i watched which was so great wanted me to see how i will behave so they know how I Will act on the future. So i used the S T A R method and answered them to my advance :D. Anyhow, the best way to answer or prepare these questions is to study the 14 " " 15(hidden) leadership principles and apply that to your answers to demonstrate you are a leader and can lead the team. GG , to me if you can I think it will be best if you can just make separate videos on how will a Level 3 PA interview will go Level 3 Yard Marshal interview will go Level 4-5 Area manager interview will go Level 5-6 Op manger interview will go. because later on the line i think I will need to come across those but I literally can not find any videos targeting them specifically. I do not know if by design or amazon policy but when i was preparing for my level 3 interview , I could not find any interview for my role on youtube. Anyhow, Thanks GG for the wonder informative videos, I really liked the video that tells the hidden leadership principle and the video that teaches about how amazon uses the interview to see WHAT YOU Did in the past instead of what you will do. really helped understand the whole logic of it all. And also that the first question is an icebreaker and I can just talk about anything and it didnt really matter. and also, how the interviewer is typing .. and not to worry about the long pause cause he/she is typing. LOL
Hi there- so I don't cover any specific questions in any of my videos on RU-vid. Both of the questions you reference are Earn Trust questions, these questions you note could be asked of any level. All interviews in Amazon will follow broadly the same structure. Differences will come in 1) any technical competencies needed to be covered in that role 2) the whims of the specific interviewer. I'm working on gathering a collection of 1:2:1 interviews from Amazonians in different roles. There are however thousands of roles in Amazon, so I'm unlikely to get to all of them. Good luck with your result.
Great content GG, on all your videos. Thank you! Can you please help me with the following? 1) How long did you work for Amazon? 2) What continued to surprise you? Why did you leave?
1) 5yrs 2) how intellectually imaginative my colleagues were 3) My Dad was one of the first to die from COVID in the UK. It was shocking and led me to want and take a step back from my life and consider what future I wanted for myself and family.
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 I am terribly sorry about your dad's passing. Thank you for your quick response and thank you for all the great content you share
Thank you GG for the super rich content. I was successful in my loop and I got a call from my recruiter saying that 2 hiring managers are interested in my candidacy - one was from my panel and the other wasn't. Afterwards, I received a schedule for both roles which looks like another round of interviews. I am just wondering why this is the case after the long rounds of loop
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 Hi and thanks for the great tips! How can you tell if you're scheduled for a sell call vs an interview, especially if you've already gone through a loop but other HMs are starting to get involved?
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 I never heard back after my interview. I got ghosted, sent an email to the recruiter and coordinater, and never heard back.
some people are not great at interviews even though they are talented, have great professional skills, and experienced. Sometimes they fair poorly, but that does not mean they do not have what it takes to be successful for the role, so the the best way to find out is to gauge the candidate's aptitude, and desire to work and prove they can live up to the expectations and even exceed them. Given a chance for a month or 2 they can prove what they can achieve and accomplish. So hire them on probation for 2 months and if they don't prove what they claim they are please let them go. Fair enough ...for both interviewer and interviewee???
I wouldn’t do that as a leader- the likely failure rate is high and the resource drain on the existing team of trying to onboard and train someone to have them exit 2 months later would be unsustainable. Although the traditional model of interviews does risk missing good candidates, that risk is acceptable to companies when weighed against the high cost of failure for other models such as this. From your perspective I’d recommend practice, practice, practice. Good interview technique is a skill that can be taught and practiced.
I have my virtual onsite for a BIE L5 role in 2 weeks. Just found this channel today, really liking the content and the tips. Can i ask "What would be the expectations once someone joins this role, specially within the first couple of months?"
SO... I had an interview for a leadership role in 2020 and the interview went well and I was inclined but I did not get the role... the manager that did my interview told my manager that the way I asked my question at the end of the interview implied that the area managers did not do their job. My question was "What is being done to try an encourage people, who are scared of covid, to come to work." His response was it is our job as AMs to make amazon a place people want to come to work... I just responded with that must be hard right now. This was May 2020 so right at the beginning of covid and amazon was offer unlimited time off.
Thanks GG your videos really helped; unfortunately after having great phone screen for senior TPM and virtual loop interview scheduled for next week. It was cancelled today with reason to be rescheduled at later time as position closed and they will look for other job opportunities. Puzzled if this is something changed based on resume review by loop team or is it result of aws is not actively hiring now..any ideas? I had good phone screen and i kind of felt this is done deal if I succeed to impress bar raiser.😞
Hi GG! First of all, thanks so much for the videos and information; purchased the Channel Support Notes and have my L6 tech loop tomorrow! Quick question in regards to team member questions: I noticed you commented that asking each team member the HM's favorite LP to compare results, however, what about things like what drew them to the team or surprised them about the team after joining? Should those be common questions asked to gather that data? Thanks again!
Hi GG, Recently Came across this excellent channel of yours , Last week I had my first phone screening , it went well and I’m expecting a loop in Jan first week but the problem is I’ve used my main examples in first screen itself , can I repeat those ? Since Loop will be having lot more questions , This is for L4 role
I have been terminated Sunday the 23rd of June. I was fired because I pulled the battery cable off the battery. But I was told by a maintenance guy that I could remove it if the Code G4, or Loss of Connection to the SWM showed up on my Order Picker screen. I got fired for doing this, but he didn't. I just want to work for Amazon. I loved my job and I promise never ever to do anything like this again. PLEASE HELP ME!!!
Just landed on your videos and I wish I had found them earlier when I applied for an internship position last year for AWS while I was studying, sadly I didnt make the cut at that time, I’m reapplying and got my first set of interviews in a couple of weeks, do you have any tips or advice for me as a prospective intern?
I help by producing hours of free actionable content that people have used and gotten jobs. Thousands of people haven’t given me a penny/dime/peso/yen/cent etc and gotten a job based only on this RU-vid channel. I’m not “hiding” anything. I just don’t hook people in with vague high level information then slap them around the face with a sales pitch in order to get actionable information. If you want someone who’ll give you half the information than slam you with a sales pitch for the rest, you’re on the wrong channel.
Hello GG, your videos are really good. I interviewed for an L2 role in April and got email with feedback that I cleared the interview but the position got filled at the time and now I have applied for L1 position and I have an informational interview scheduled on this week with new hiring manager. What can I ask in this interview?
Hi GG, quick question. Do they tell you if you are going into the loop? As in, for example, you have done one or two interviews and they schedule a third, are they supposed to tell you if the next interview is already part of the loop? Thank you! Your content is super helpful
I'd expect your recruiter to explain what is happening in your process. Loop is a series of interviews in close succession so it would be very strange to just schedule one. But that said it would also be strange to have a 3rd early round before loop. You should ask your recruiter for clarification.
3:27 I assume the most important purson-per-p-person (sorry it's contagious; I was finger tied 🤞🏽😂) in the hiring process is the hiring recruiter, right? I haven't yet watched your other videos. So sorry if you already answered it in them.
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 I guess I was also assuming if one didn't have a bar raiser. I heard that not everyone has 1. That's why I assumed hiring recruiter (as a proxy) or could they at times act as one in the same?
@@KenSherman Amazon Interview Bar Raiser- WHO DOESN'T GET ONE! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MVzgbFlL08E.html Recruiters have ZERO say in who gets hired. They are inherently bias because their goals are based on their hire rate.
If the bar raiser isn't directly related to your work/role, what would be good, impactful questions to ask them? Would the questions listed under the "non team members" section suffice? Anyone here that can provide examples of what they asked their bar raisers? :)
I got my loop coming up for senior product manager...is it ok to use examples from non-product management roles? I am going to have strong examples that way for all leadership principles, but if I just had to stick with product management I might not be as strong and will have to reshape a lot of the examples which I know will be very tough.
You still have a chance. It's just my advice for maximising your chances. It's not going to be a knock out issue if you have plenty of other good things going for you.
Thank you GG, I have a question. How to clear the very first call that is from recruiter? This is really a firt step and sometimes recruiters are the key to open the door.
That stage is all about establishing if you have the right skills for the role. There’s no magic formula. Just make your skills and accomplishments clear with data.

Help! I am scheduled for an Amazon loop interview in a few days. This is the second time I have gone through the loop. The first time, I was offered the role. I tried negotiating my salary, they wouldn't budge, I still accepted the role. However, when I gave my resignation to my current employer they made it impossible for me to leave for that role so I then withdrew my acceptance well in advance of my expected start date. The hiring manager from the last time is one of the interviewers this time around. Should I be feeling like the deck is stacked against me now? I'm feeling a bit deflated now since I got my interview itinerary this morning.
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 Because she was the hiring manager the last time and I almost feel like I burned her after accepting the role and then withdrawing a few days later. I really did want the job, but my current employer made it impossible for me to leave for that role. The role was a step back for me professionally (L5) but would have been a nice pay increase over what I was making. My current employer threw even more money at me to hopefully retain me so I stayed. The role I am now interviewing for is an L6, a step up in terms of carer progression, and will pay significantly more so it's a better fit than the previous role. She is also the current hiring manager's counterpart and I'm actually dreading the awkwardness of meeting with her again. I know it's going to be awkward.
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 I personally feel the question to be important so that I can improve in future, but I don't know whether or not should I ask. Getting an answer or not is a matter of chance.
I honestly didn't think much on the "smart" questions to ask. I just asked what interested me specifically, mostly about the role, my responsibilities, and expectations. Why should I waste their time answering questions I'm not even interested in, with the sole purpose to impress?
I am meeting the hiring manager again, and many things we spoke about in my second screener I have had top of mind, can I bring this up? "you mentioned xyz" OR do they want nothing brought up from the screens?
Had my candid chat where he asked if I was ready for LPs, suggested a channel, and said he'd send the link. I mentioned knowing a great one with GG, and he exclaimed, "OMG, that's her!" I said actually I believe her guidance helped me khock out the writing assignment and two screeners! @@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503

9:03 - 9:15 Guess there is a such thing as being TOO blunt. 😁 But I'm inclined to think that would have been cheating to ask. 😉 10:34 - 10:48 I can relate to this part of the *Dive Deep* concept. I just like to be prepared or don't like the feeling of not knowing what comes next. I think preparation is a strong key to have for many things and (sort of my) sense of comfort. I tend to stay aware of taking (pre)caution of not diving in too deep🤿 where I'd drown; only just necessarily deep enough where I can “see”🥽 or *Learn and Be Curious* (P.S. I like your segue 11:31 - 11:45). 15:48 - 16:48 If the team's leadership principles are not in sync, I would be sensing some *Disagree and Commits* into how they work or function together; not to mention paying attention to those that may display a *Backbone* . 18:31 I am not familiar with the time vely unless it's a slang geared more towards introverts?
Sorry to step in but in my loop the BR didn’t told me but as I saw in her LinkedIn profile she was from another Amazon department so I could identify she was the BR
You may or may not be able to work out who the BR is. But honestly, to you, it shouldn't matter. The interview experience and expectations that have of you are the same. And if you have a great interview with them but not with the others, then they're not going to sign off hiring you.

Sounds like the recruiter accidentally sent you the wrong email. I wouldn’t worry about it. If there’s a contact address on the email you can email that back.
Your content is brilliant and so very helpful! I’m going through the loop right now and trying not to over-analyze how I did with the first interview.
