A delicious Coronation Quiche Lorraine, perfect for making this weekend! The perfect thing to cook for the big lunch initiative, which aims to bring communities together for the coronation weekend via delicious food 🎉
As a french guy, I can tell you there are no cheese and onions in the original recipe. We also prefer what we call lardons over chopped bacon strips. But fuck the conventions everyone put some onions and cheese inside and on the top because it's delicious, great great quiche Sam, looks divine
non non en fait les lardon c'est de la poitrine coupé aussi donc c'est à peine plus epais mais dans cette video c'est plus proche du top que de mettre des lardon du commerce
@@sycofya1677 Gordon is the one that made beef Wellington famous , everyone that does wellington ,it was based on his recipe , and ppl made minor changes to his recipe. He was the one that started basting steak with butter rosemary garlic back in 2010 and everyone started copying him , now people thinks this is the best way to cook steak . He laid the foundation of cooking and Sam's has his cook book as well , sam was self taught . Where is the best way to learn to cook from chefs and their recipe and practice their recipe .
@@sycofya1677 he has 2 video , of wellington . One wasn't that good compared to the new one . While Gordon has been doing it for yrs. Wellington is Gordon's signature dish
You're perfectly right. (Funny aside, the best quiche I've ever had was in Strasbourg.... it also had the cheese and onion). Lardons are better than bacon for this dish though...
We did an iteration of this when I was a chef and cooked in the wood fired brick pizza oven 😋 served with a very bright acidic Greek salad 🥗 but quiche was garnished with shaved parm, bacon, and parsley. Sunday brunch item very classic. 🎉
@@robbielea1107i didn't remember it while going in london, the vast majority of "family cook" tasted like shit (wouldn't serve it to my family, just a little better than instant noddle) but yes some english chef, who learned the french art are really good with it (and even getting on the world top chef)
@@vadim8068 I felt the exact same way when going to different countries when I went to Pakistan I thought the food was horrible same with Colombia. I ate locally and the food was disgusting so it matters on what place you go to.
It's a beautiful quiche, just not a quiche Lorraine. We don't put oignons, cheese or lard in a quiche Lorraine. But then again, it is a beautiful quiche. I'd happily demolish it tbh 🤣
As someone with a girlfriend from France, she cooks this often and I surprised her one night and cooked it for her, however the recipe I looked on google had green onions & cheese. Long story short she only eats it that way now. She grew up on quiche Lorraine the traditional way but a lot of people prefer the green onions & cheese. I’m biased as I love green onions with almost any hot meal & cheese in low amounts is great imo. Although I agree it’s not authentic quiche Lorraine, that doesn’t mean it’s not incredible in its own right!
Could you let us a dose of your knowledge and share the recipe? I would be very grateful because your dish looks much more in my taste than recipes in the internet. 😊
Bro looks incredible. Glad you didn't make it with big chunks of RAW lardons which alot of french bakeries do. And you actually cooked the bacon through. Top class
As a French person , don’t listen to French people complain they don’t know how hard and expensive French product are overseas your quiche looks fantastic ☺️ bravo !
I don't know how to put it into words, but I just LOVE SO MUCH how you care so much about this 🥲💜💚 your videos are so informative - I keep hoping that if Mattell or Daniel Kaluuya or anyone makes a movie about Barney they'll have you on the project Also, why did 'The Backyard Gang' series stop? Did you do a different video about it or did I not pick up on it here? Could they have kept it going along with the PBS show?
