I had to stop at the point starting the ties to say, I’m giddy with how the bonnet looks after making the ruffle. It’s so sweet. Thank you Amanda for this wonderful tutorial.
I made this in an evening (I'm a beginner) and it was so easy! I love how you show us so clearly what stitch to go into. I've now also made your booties.
I'm a first time crocheted and just made the bonnet. Can't believe it was made by me. Your instructions were so clear and precise. Looking g forward to doing the bootees now
I just finished this little bonnet...I have to say that I have made quite a few baby hats and this is by far the sweetest and cutest I have ever made. Thank you so much for sharing this. I can't wait for the baby shower. I made the blanket to go along with it too. ❤
I’m just done with crouching the bonnet. I wanted the raffles To stand up like a crown, so after I did the second tie, I didn’t cut the yarn and I single crochet all around the raffles. It came out so sweet thank you again for the very clear instruction..
I love this little bonnet. So simple yet it looks amazing. I was wondering if you have a pattern for a larger size. Like 3-6 months. Perhaps a larger hook or number 4 yarn.
I did this as a practice run and I did it 🙂 I'm going to go purchase the correct yarn and it give a try to give away for Christmas. Thank you for this tutorial
Wonderful! Congratulations on your first project and I wish you lots of luck for you and your baby! 🥰 Thanks for your comment and have a great weekend 💝
Thank you so much for this easy to follow tutorial , my human mum has just made one for a friend who has just had a little girl. It looks so pretty and will make a perfect gift once she makes the shoes as well ; ) Teddy
You're very welcome! Congratulations to your friend... I'm sure that she will love the little bonnet (and the shoes too when you get around to making them) 🥰
This is my first time making this project, but what I'm doing is adding 2 extra inches to the top and more rows down the side for a bigger baby. I'm making a 6-9m old hat, so I added 2-3 extra inches to the top and a few extra rolls down the side. Wish me luck, I hope it works.
I think it will work much better , but don't forget to add more stitches when you are adding it into the magic circle. and use the correct size of yarn (😅 I'm just a beginner but u hope it will work )
Can i just ask you, because i am new at this, but after row 5, what do you excatly meen by 2-8 ? I didn’t understand that part ? How to chrochet further after row 5 :)
You're very welcome! The other items can be found in this playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLFkGpOSO7LuZMukg49hekpt_1dkSsWIR2&si=JII2HPqB2Kfzf9XJ Thanks for following along with me and enjoy making the rest of this set! 😘💝
For this size you could try using a H (5mm) crochet hook and see how it goes. If you can follow patterns, here is the free written pattern: maisieandruth.com/crochet-baby-hat-pattern-the-bluebell-baby-bonnet/ Good luck! 💕
I'm making one for 6 months. I made my top not 3inches but 5 inches, and I'm adding more rows for my lining down the head a bit since I'm making a 6 month old hat. That's my adjustments, but this is my first time making this hat so I'm hoping it works 🤞 I would just measure the 6m old's head and make your own adjustments.
When I make hats for little ones I make a pompom for the end of the strings. Kids become impatient untying their hats and the pompom stops the strings becoming a knot.
Thanks, Peggy! 😘 I get so many requests for this so I will need to have a look at designing something! Have a great weekend, hope you're managing to stay warm in this bitter weather just now! 💝
