''In this video, it's 7:30 PM on a Sunday night, and my kids have school tomorrow. They requested keychains for their teachers, and I just found out about it five minutes ago. With only 30 minutes to spare, let's see how we can make these keychains.
Since I'm not great at designing from scratch, I'll utilize my subscription to Creative Fabrica, a website where I can download vector files and design elements. I quickly search for the graphics my kids want: a pink dolphin, a cactus, and a design for the crossing guard. With the graphics in hand, I open Illustrator and begin creating the design files.
For the dolphin keychain, I remove the background, ungroup the elements, and select the one I want. I adjust its size to around 2.25 inches wide and prepare the cactus design using a pre-made shape. I align it and create a red border around it. With the designs mocked up, I move on to the other keychains, but I won't show the entire process for each one.
After a quick mock-up of all three designs, I proceed to cut them out of eighth-inch clear cast acrylic using a laser cutter. Once cut, I prepare the designs for printing. I flip the graphics and save them as PDF files, ensuring that I capture all the pages for printing. In the printer software.
I clean the acrylic surfaces with isopropyl alcohol, position the keychains on the printer bed, and start the print. Once printed, I peel the designs and assemble the keychains by attaching the key rings.
