Nice Job, The only problem is the location of that Fuel Filter. Rotary engines are known for Clutches letting go, due to the high RPM. I Tech Vehicles at many road race events and that would not pass to be allowed to go out on the Track. It is not just on Rotary Vehicles, it is for any car. Having any Fuel parts (filters, regulators etc) in the radius of the Flywheel and clutch is a no go for tech at most Tracks. Just a FYI. Cheers.
Appreciate the feedback, it is something we have considered but we used the factory location this time. We are going to consider this a learning experience and see if it works, gather data along the way and see if we need to change anything down the road. We will be sure to keep you updated along the way.
I love the progress so far. just wish this information came out a month ago when i was going through my fuel set up on my FC 😄. I do have to ask is do you still have that file you made the fuel filter mounting plate. I would love to do this mine as well.
Might be a dumb question but how did you clock your fittings? Lets say you have a 90° fitting and its facing the wrong way. How do you rotate it to face the right way all while still remaining tight? I hope I made sense
You'll have to clock it before fully tightening it down. If it's already tightened, then you'll have to loosen it first. Make sure you're holding the hose end in place as you tighten so that it doesn't misalign afterwards
So the fittings will swivel before they are fully tightened. You just need to hold your fitting in the right direction as you tighten it. This is another reason why the vise jaws are great, they hold the fitting tight and free up one of your hands to hold the fitting as you assemble.
