Just adding on, there's a Fusion Core Recharger in the Atomic Shop that can recharge fusion cores that are not completely used. Collect the cores and recharge them, and they're good for use. If you're using a weapon that uses fusion cores, make it a habit to reload before the core runs out so you can recharge it later. The Recharger can simultaneously charge 4 fusion cores, and it actually charges fairly quickly. For power armor, it might be a good idea to take the legendary perk "Electric Absorption" which makes energy-based attacks against you have a chance to recharge your fusion core that's in use.
For my PA build I had the energy absorb perk and would take all of my empty cores into a missile silo. (All energy weapons) I could charge about 10 every 5 min.
Unhh... try to remember what it is like being below level 100 and scrounging for screws and fiber just to maintain existing weapons and armor after any event. Crafting resource heavy items is like a minimum wage worker buying a new car just to get the battery. Sure you can do it, but you end up behind the truck stop doing things to pay for it....
@@mtemple57 do you not mark components? I have maybe 100 hours in this game but all my characters around level 20 have hundreds of that stuff. You just loot all the stuff that has the magnifying glass and then you never have to worry about components
Great short video explaining how to get them but beware guys you have two types of fusion cores as shown in the video the ones he bought from the vendor are ultracite fusion cores used in the ultracite Gatling laser and they cannot be used in your power armour! So just be careful when buying off players
Just do the Reactor Workshops. There's no fear from high levels. In fact if a high level dude sees you struggling with fusion cores, he'll probably drop you some. Hell, he might even hook you up with the best PA for your level and toss in a jetpack just cuz he can and has ways too much scrap than he knows what to do with. Also, fusion cores are considered ammo because of gatling laser.
The more easier and faster way is simply grab a Gatling laser gun that uses fusion cores and take to expedition or daily ops. Right before it end whip out the Gatling laser and you’ll get the fusion cores for a reward.
My favorite way to get a stock pile of fusion cores requires you to have fallout first or a friend with a first sub, is you go on a private server take all the power plants you can and just set up the fusion core extractors, then just go to your favorite loot spots while you wait, with this method you avoid potential pvp, all the loot you want from the map is likely there and it only takes about 2 -3 hours to get enough cores to keep your power armour powered for up to 2weeks and thats without the perk card that extends the life of the fusion cores
Blood Eagle spots usually has a dude in half raider PA that either has a gatling lazer with a core or you get it from his PA its usally 25%-100% full farmed 3 cores back to back in like 30 minutes not the most efficient but it does work
I usually head over to a powerplant and set up a shop, even if i dont use it the new players can take them, its no stress to me and it helps wveryone else looking to get some, i hope more people start doing this as over the years its fallen off and less people do it now. But yea, if you have a fusion generator, just go set up an extractor, it costs jext to nothing and everyone benefits, sometimes ill even do acid extractors too, only annoying part is auto turret defence, sometimes they dont do the job, ti0 for that it put them up high in places the gouls or scorched cant reach.
This dude said "poisoden" 😂 Great tips man, just coming back after two years and been meaning to stock up on cores for my PA Heavy Gunner build, i have like 17 paired with electric absorption but its peace of mind to stockpile.
my go to way are expeditions, i usually do them anyway for fast scrip and at the end i just equip a gatling laser before I leave. You get 4 cores that are 75% full (works for ultracite too). if you have the fusion core recharger from the atom shop you can even charge them up within minutes. but the 75% core are usually enough for me
First option for me is a no go without guns and or armor to go fight i tried the power thing not a one thing had even one core in it ive tied for days server hopping for power armor the moment i would take a piec off a spawned power aromor set if i tried to server hop any server after the one were i took off the pieces the armor dont seem to spawn idk what else to do im level 5
Get yourself a few cores, put on a legendary perk (forgot it’s name, sorry) for recharging them while being hit with energy dmg (which is suprisingly common for postapocalyptic wastland for some reason), let me tell you, as long as i’m playing PA Heavy Gunner and since i put on this perk card maxed i don’t think i needed to change my core in my PA even once, so it’s been running for quite some time now 👍🏻 and if you’re planning on using gatling laser or smth like that (not ultracite) then make double sure you have that perk card, cause it will keep your core running and u’ll still be albę to use gatling with other cores with No worries of being stuck with unpowered PA
Hey guys at the time of this I’m level 42 and I was wondering how to make a build because I’m new to these perk card things and these builds confuse me
Well level 42 is a bit low to be specializing a load out but you can definitely try! Try to figure out what kind of weapons you use the most and specialize your perks in those. Rifles, pistols, heavies, melee. Then once your a bit higher you could search up a build for a specific weapon of class that is godly! But just try to pick a class and stick to it
