Wow! I am making one for my wife with my son, we have a sewing machine but I had no idea how to do this. You made it so simple, thank you! I looked up "DIY BEENIE" and your pretty face popped up so naturally I said, lets watch her! Your video was super simple and straight forward, thank you. She is getting a home made beenie from me and the boy fir Christmas and a scarf. Keep rocking.

I just made 3 of them within 3 hours since I was using regular fabric glue and not the heated one. Also being super cautious in making sure the glue dried. Buuuut it was so worth the wait!

Thank you so much for the idea. I took my moms sweater and just made a beanie out of it... It's a surprise for her when she turn back from work. Wasn't sure which sweater to take from her closet, so I just took some with Gucci 100% cashmere stuff on the label. hope she doesn't care much about that one. .. Anyway the beanie turned great although I used paper glue instead of that fabric one.. Hope she 's gonna like it .. can't wait

The paper glue is not going to hold if you wash the beanie you made. If it starts coming apart I recommend that you sew it back together instead of using more paper glue or get some fabric glue.

+J Niemann It doesn't matter anymore... It turned out it was one of mums favorite sweater. She bought it in Italy just a month ago for 500 dollars.. she was so pissed off when she saw what I did, although I had the best intentions. She cut my pocket money to half until April 2016 so I could pay off that stupid sweater.:(

Just fantastic little lady! I have unraveled the yarn of a sweater to knit a hat, but never cut one to glue/sew to make a hat. Wonderful idea! Thanks for sharing your cool ideas.

omg! Love it. I'm obsessed with beanies. my biggest pet peeve about buying beanies is they're never as slouchy or long as I want them! This way I control the slouchy factor! so excited to try it! thanks so much!

I just made one. I sewed it because I don't have a glue gun. It took three hours, but I am very proud of the outcome. They are good enough to use as gifts and easy enough to make. Love this :)

+Angela Ponder there isn't much of a difference at all. Just that instead of using glue, I used thread. I don't have a sewing machine so it took me a couple of hours but it was definitely worth it!!

I made one of these and I turned the sleeves into socks instead :3 if you cut Steiger across the top, cut if any fabric at the end that has the stuff you want for a beanie, flip it inside out, and glue the small hole, flip it back right side out, then you get socks :3

Do some shopping at the "thrift" stores for sweaters...♥️ Bargains galore in thrift stores. Even if you make an error; sweater would be couple bucks. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I used this technique for a hat I am using for a cosplay. Although I slipped the part where you measurement the fabric because I used an old small kid's shirt from a thrift store so I would not waste so much fabric. The shirt was so small it was just the right size for my head. Maybe using a kid's shirt could do well for this to.

Cute. 'Side you want showing' is the right side. Can sew or serge, and it is really nice to know about the glue for fabric. Nice add for using the arms for leg warmers. Good job.

I would totally do this if I still have a sweater to cut up. I used to get into so much trouble as a kid for cutting up things. :p LOL I would add some of my own touches too. I cruise the thrift shops for lace that is different and cool. I saw some lace trimmed leg warmers the other day but I'd rather make my own. Thanks SO much! God bless you!!
