Dank u Wel. I have a this Beko fridge in the video. Love it. I must have been one of those fools who threw away the cleaning plug. I live in Netherlands and in dutch looked for where is the water going to??? could not find info..am not patient. then today tried in English and you have my fridge and an easy explanation. Now I will remember to wipe away any condensation I see and do better at not letting food bits fall into the hole. I cleaned the whole fridge freezer yesterday and could not figure out where the water went to. no water pan under or back. Thank you sweetheart. Took some stress away. x
You may find like me, that this tool is still blocking the hole, from when you first purchased the fridge and only needs removed! Thanks for a great video.
Thanks so much mate! I thought I was needing a new fridge! Watched your video and five minutes later the jobs sorted. Thanks to RU-vid and helpful people like you!
Thanks...very useful video.....i didn't even notice the hole or the plastic thing in it of my new fridge freezer....i thought it was because i had it on too high or something....mine kept getting water at the bottom.....now i've removed the plastic plughole (kept it safe) it should be ok...and i will check it regularly for blockages!! x
Have'nt got plastic thing to unblock it with, but have cotton buds, will try it out tomorrow. my freezer working fine, just the fridge part at the top. Thanks for the tip.
What tools will I need? I hear you say just 4 screws and i think you add "and bolts". Do i just need to remove the 4 screws? I dont have any tools that fit the bolt, so i dont wanna do what I can just to have to reinstall the screws to find another tool. Thank you
After watching your video, I realized that my fridge really comes with a green plastic thing like what you said. Should I leave it in the hole as it is (will it block the drain?), or do I need to take it away and clean the hole inside the fridge with it from time to time? Actually, do we need to clean the hole with something from time to time? Please advise.
I think my wife and I both fixed our freezerless whirlpool refrigerator leak. Used a very long tie rod and it seemed to unplug the issue. It didn't seem like it was a big opening. It had dirtyish water on top of it. The tie rod acted like a mini plunger of sorts. I guess we'll see how it did.
Amazing....being new in the UK, but handy in Canada, I never knew about this at all. Simple and brilliantly explained, thank you for saving me a ton of money.....
Are you from Northern Ireland? I’m from cookstown here! You sound like your from Belfast? This helped fixed our fridge! I’ll be my parents favourite child now 😂
Lee Payne that's exactly what I was going to ask. There's nothing to say you should remove it. Mine's been in for 3 years!! Only now am I finding puddles of water under the drawers.
KathleenMc73 Hahaha I'm here with the same question, I guess it's thin enough for the water to get past probably better to leave in the hole then you won't lose it, at least we know what it's for now.
I have a kenmore fridge with ice and water dispenser on the door , my issue is that the trigger switch that dispenses the water stopped working . I still get water to the ice maker so its not a water supply issue is there a switch or something that dispenses the water and is it an easy fix?
Will a plugged drain cause intermittent quitting of the refrigerator (cold freezer, but warm fridge). Yesterday, the fridge wasn't working, but the freezer was. Also, the vent was covered over with frost, and a sheet of ice on bottom of freezer. Today everything works good, but still a layer of ice on freezer bottom. Thanks
I can't believe it was that simple. I was putting rice, salt and all sorts in there to absorb some of the moisture and nothing worked. In the end I shoved a pen down the hole and it fixed it.
Ibe just bought a brand new beko.fridge freezer frost free ,in the fridge im noticing water on the back internal panel above the leak tray is that normal the temp is set to medium number 2 out of 5 settings 5 the highest
Walked into my kitchen once stepped on water like a lot big puddle on the floor opened my fridge and the bottom of the fridge was wet like a lot. I cleaned it all up next morning was fine. It has never done that before
I have got three questions, Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated. What could be other reasons of condensation collection inside the fridge except following? 1. Weak gasket fitment or loose door contact 2. Drain blockage Question-2 is : How can we remove the moisture/Condensation from inside the fridge. Is there a device that gets activated and removes the moisture and then goes on hibernation and repeats the cycle.? Is there any such device.? How important is the location of fridge inside a room or a house?
I had the same problem with mine, a good friend worked on them, he came by the house to look at it and simply put a little bleach down the line, Algae was building up blocking the line and the bleach cleared it up in just a few minutes.
There is more to this than just a little diddle at the back of the fridge. I bought a little kit on Amazon - only £5 - it had a stiff cable with a bottle brush sized for the hole, a tube long enough to reach the evaporator tank, and a 150 ml syringe, plus the little bung. This enabled me to clean all the way down to the evaporator tank, send soapy water via the stringe and tube down to the tank and suck it back up again. That dirty water was the colour of coffee, with bits in it = disgusting. Several syringefulls later and the water started to get much clearer.
Done everything you said one week later filled up again and will not stop, the little hole is totally cleaned, is there anything else it can do? Driving me mad! Water pulls in the bottom of the fridge everyday. 😫
Ararat Garabidian Some fridges (my 2012 Frigidaire) have the drain hole on the back wall under the light/temp control assembly of the refrigerator section (under the freezer) so you will have to remove that to access it. I checked my drain pan and it was dry, collecting dust bunnies, so I knew the tube was the issue. Plus there was water under my vegetable bins! Eventually -- after almost two years of the water under the bins -- I started discovering water all over the floor. That got my attention and motivated me to fix the problem.
+Slack Jicholson just happened to me - clear out as much ice as possible - i even thawed out the top of tube with each finger tip until i couldnt go any further into the tube - then i boiled water in microwave and used a turkey baster to fill the tube and in no time it was clear.
I've taken out all the stuff inside my Fridg looking for this Drain hole it don't have one at all. It does have a fan to help control humidity inside of it but the fan seems to have stopped running I think could this be the problem and what would that type of fan be called? This is in the normal cool part of the fridg not the Freezer and its a self defrost fridg. Kenmore model number #363.79262991 Sears and Roebuck before Sears did whatever to Roebuck??? Now its Just Sears.
I seen a different you- tube video on the subject that's clued me into thinking its more like my fridg then what your showing, I think its a drain that shots out the back by the top and rides down to a pan by the compressor to evaporate. But thanks anyway.
