Welcome back! We're Cody and Katie of Highboy LA, and we upcycle vintage furniture and home decor. We sell our items in Los Angeles and also share it with the world on social media, and now on RU-vid. Today we're showing you some simple staining tips. Staining your furniture is a great quick fix, especially if there are minor blemishes or scratches. It's extremely easy, anyone can do it! It's also quite inexpensive. Hope you can apply these tips to your next project!
TIPS:
1. PROTECTION: Wear gloves, a mask, and/or clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
2. APPLICATION: We prefer using a rag, but you can also use a bristle or foam brush.
3. MOTION: Always stain WITH the grain of the wood (never perpendicular).
4. PRESSURE: Start light to achieve desired color. Build pressure/color as desired.
