Ariens sells the tool tray as an accessory. The gravely is about 600 dollars more expensive so I'd expect something would be stronger or better. The hydrostatic trans must be the thing that creates the cost difference.
The Gravely is considered the Pro/Commercial version of the Ariens. The differences that I’m aware of are the removable tray, metal pulley covers that are easily removed, rubber edge gaurd on deck, different tires, and a serviceable axle. I was able to get mine down in price a little. Just had to start to walk away. If they want to make a sale, they will come down some.
What I also like about the ZT-X compared to the Ariens Ikon is the ZT-X has a serviceable transmission, edge guard and metal pully covers which the Ikon does not have.
I love the way this thing looks from the front and back. But not the side. Mainly the gas tank side. Something about seeing the gas tank is just weird to me. I like the way fenders make mowers look. But I still think this is the one I’m going to get. So hard to choose 🤦🏼♂️
@@GhostRider_JT the Ariens Ikon is almost identical. I just don’t like the color. I think I’m just going to get the Gravley and deal with that gas tank lol
I got the 2023 Gravely ZT x 42 with bagger (not power bagger). It's AWEFUL!! Do NOT recommend this mower! The mower blows grass, leaves, debris all out of ALL sides of the mower deck, including in front which goes RIGHT into your face and eyes! It's absolutely awful. I was advised to slow the mower engine/speed and that will fix it and it did NOTHING! The bagger is the 1st time Gravely did their own and it's AWFUL. The bags are WAY too behind the mower so if you're driving along side of a structure or fence, you can't just turn away from the structure normally b/c the bags are so far behind the mower, turning normally, the bags crash up against the structure. Literally the only good thing about the Gravely ZT 42 is the Kawasaki engine. The deck lowering is lame and I often can't see the numbers when adjusting while mowing. The worst thing though is how it spews debris out from all sides and the front so you're literally driving into the debris it's kicking out in front. Just awful. I'm selling this mower despite having it for ONE season!!!
Interesting, I was looking into the 42inch ZXT (2023) model w. bagger. Primarily to help with leaf pick up during the Fall Season. Curious to know what conditions and how tall your grass is. I’ve researched many mowers in this class and compared to others, it’s one of the best in its class (even w. a bagger)…
@@ANTMAN-413 honestly, it’s been terrible. It's not the condition of my lawn. I actually saw an other video review of the 23 ZT X and the guy was saying in his reivew that it throws debris out all sides of the deck. This was the case with mine, My prior older ZT x 42 worked great and would leave nice green strips going through thick leaves. This 2023 does not do that, at all, it just spews leaves all over the place. I wouldn’t have sold my older one but the frame was weak and broke and had to have it welded and I truly thought the 2023 ZT X would be great but, nope
