A few years ago while doing repairs to an old PB200D at my ski club. (Weardale, UK) I found the chassis had a giant crack down the middle of it. Turns out the machine had been In a bit of a sticky situation around 12 years prior when it crossed a bridge over a stream in a gully. The bridge had collapsed leaving the groomer suspended by the blade and the tilller and the previous owners had to weld up some cracks in the chassis caused the the sudden lack of support. I’m amazed that the weak point wasn’t the stinger, or where it connects to the chassis, after all, it’s not designed to carry a load like this! No one passed on this information until the problem re emerged over a decade later. Pays to give these machines detailed examinations and attention.
