This is just like my Rover 3500s - red with black vinyl roof. This was the most exciting car I have ever owned. Was so sad to part with it, but I was going to work overseas at the time. This video brings back so many memories. Was very expensive to run back in the '70s - must be grim now. I have often wondered what one of these would be like with a modern fuel injected version of that V8.

Nice looking old car 👍🏼👍🏼 The wood dash and dials are really cool. Engine sounds great 👍🏼

Classy interior and a very good perspective from the best camera angle possible. The radio has very sympathetic aesthetic detailing that follows the centre console lines suitably well. Quiet and well made. Far better build than any Jaguar of the same period.

Thanks for watching all! I thought I'd let the imagery tell the story rather than me natter over it. I'm the second owner. Totally original car, including original clutch! Still keeps up with the traffic and sounds great...

Hello, lovely 3500S. I have an identical car here in Sydney, same Monza Red etc. but with buckskin cloth interior. One of the few 1975 models to make it to Oz, she's in outstanding rust free condition, my sixth P6B (have owned them in UK and Australia). Love the delicate clip, music etc. well done. Very capable cars even on todays roads.

I clicked the comment button when I meant to go to a new paragraph. I had a 3500 from new when I was in my early 20's, with the strip speedo and the then compulsory auto gear box. I drove it for quite a few years and did a lot of country trips in it. An excellent car to drive to Canberra for a long weekend over the goat tracks that then passed for the Hume and Federal highways. It was such a good and reliable car that my mother bought an SD1 3500. A terrible mistake, bits kept falling off, poor electrics, you name it, nowhere near the quality of mine let alone the Lancia Flavia sedan she'd had for many years. She traded in the Rover in just over a year on a Benz W123. Got very little for it as I recall.

Fabulous cars, in the US they are enthusiastic about their heritage cars,. Even the younger generations really seem to appreciate older cars and will lovingly restore and drive them. Iwonder why we in the UK don't have as much enthusiasm? Shame really.

The gear change and clutch look good on this car. My car has a very heavy clutch and an SDI 5 speed being notchy 1st to 2nd.

Nice but noisy layshaft bearings. That would annoy the hell out of me.

In the USA I have seen two of these. I am AMAZED at what they did with the front suspension; VERY unusual and complicated at the time! Did they do that to make room for this engine?

Cars nowadays I find relaxing with six gears you feel your getting optimum economy, you feel lost in cars with 4 and 5 gears nowadays, of course automatic gearboxs can accelerate faster than you can in a manual now.

I always feel these cars deserve a wooden dashboard with white dials.

She looks in very good repair. Can I ask what the flickering light on the dash was ? Alternator charging perhaps ?

Thanks for watching... It's an intermittent fault with the handbrake light.

Frankly, it's a lot of noise to barely reach 40mph.

A basically good car, but spoilt by the cheapening already brought in by direction of William Lyons (the same comment applies to Mark Nelson's cloth interior). Good, quiet performance, comfortable ride. All it lacks is more room inside, enough for 2 adults and a couple of small children only, and adequate luggage space.
