A suggestion- If you know how to draw structures then you can easily figure out the geometry. Its a piece of cake if you know the basic structure( without lone pairs). And then you can modify the structures with lone pairs.😊
@fuckingdumbo you can. If you imagine for 3bp it's a trigonal planar structure with 120° bond angle (if that's the bit you remember) then for 2bp 1lp if you remove one (imagine it in your head) it's now a bent structure and since lp decreases it by 2.5 the bond angle is now 117.5
But Being a JEE aspirant in india, we have quite tough question papers and we have limited time. So learning all these is the only possible quickest method. We cannot make structures every time.... As soon as the number of hybrid orbital comes, within milliseconds we have to answer the shape and structure. ........

Thank you for the video! I think an exception to tetrahedral being nonpolar is that if the outer atoms are different elements, such as CH2F2. This is a polar molecule contrary to the logic that all tetrahedral compounds with no lone pairs are nonpolar.
The rules for polarity does not always apply for example CH2Cl2, if you use the chart you will think it’s nonpolar when in fact it’s polar. Be careful.
Valid! My way is not for everyone, but it did save me so I figured it may help others too. I'm sure you have your way of remembering that helps you ace exams likewise :)
