Great work JLF! I think my favorite quick witted CF is in Laurie Holden’s interview. She tells him he hasn’t lost his accent because “the Rs are the same.” Without missing a beat, CF says “yep my Arse is exactly the same as it’s always been.” Just sooo fast and sooo funny. It’s a real talent. Edit- oh and when he translates Adrianne Palicki’s hieroglyphs... and the “Annette” bit with Stephen Wright... geez, so many...
Good thing Craig quit the show when he did. Just imagine how the snowflakes would melt if he were on today.. Lord those idiots know how to ruin good fun.
Funny that this show aired a little over 3 years ago and these social terrorist weren't even as relevant as they are now, in a little over 3 short years
The irony is that he was featured in the cult classic, Red Dwarf, in an episode where he actually played one of the main characters confidence. It was earlier in his career.
The cards he rips at the beginning of each show aren’t empty though. They had writers, he just didn’t care about them or their work and I think that’s hilarious.
@@rossogden9920, Ah yes, yet you see a well defined mould can be broken. Just one of a rare casting can break a mould. Then there's that which is so infrequent, forged of itself and too perfect to be defined, let alone ever be reproduced, a master would never try for it would offend his own art ..... Everyone's a bit ghey for that kind of *everyone's man* the o.p. has this one 😉👌
You need to see if you can watch the clips of Robin Williams with Craig! The quick wit with both of them is hilarious! Chlamydia, your Dad's here...........
Craig talks to all of his guests like an old friend, and I think that's a big reason why his more "flirty" jokes don't come off as creepy. It's all in the demeanor.
@@Veggamattic Its still fast because of its timing not because of his experience. A man is built upon the sum of his experience. He might have seen someone use that line in the past. That's how this works. We emulate, and design, and give new meaning to things in our connections with others.
@@Veggamattic Uhm, I've plenty of evidence. Did you not see her bite her lip? You can convince yourself there's not enough to go by, but you'd get more mileage in admitting you've something to learn from this.
@@daveg4236 Lisdexia Sux, Doesn't it? Just messing, I got the gist. Also, Just found out I've been misspelling that word for years. Not Dislexia. Gist. I can hear the jokes coming... I'll stop now.
Yeah, she was. Obviously, I grew up watching Star Wars, but years later, she was in a B-movie with Patrick Dempsey called Loverboy, and I was moved by her self-deprecating humor, quick wit and charisma. In an interview she was in around the same time, I discovered that's just how she is. Cool as fuck.
Carrie Fisher had one of the brightest minds in Hollywood, and no muzzle on her tongue. I've seen a number of interviews and presentations by her, her wit was first rate , especially if she had a target present she had a history with.
Carrie had the quick wit of her mother and came up with some of the best quips, like the ones she made regarding the "Star Wars" franchise (the one about George Lucas and the metal Bikini bra she wore in "Return of the Jedi almost had me rolling on the floor). Loved her and Debbie and have a hole in my heart since December, 2016. Stay safe, everyone.
There are a good handful who have accomplished this feat, but none as well as Kate Mara - and she did twice. Once with brilliant comedy and the other with cumulative flirt.
I've been enjoying The Graham Norton Show along conan lately. He's not as quick witted as Craig, but pretty close. His interviews are always entertaining and true, unlike mr Fallon.
@@ericbergevin4948 True. Also the way in which Norton researches his guest and makes them comfortable which then brings some of the most hilarious stories ever. Conan, Craig and Norton. Nobody even comes close to these guys.
"What's in that?" (nods to cup) - "What's in this? Confidence." laughs "Have you always been this quick?" - "Some things I'm a little slower with..." "...such as?" This was a real James Bond conversation, just needed a "Why-don't-you-try-to-find-out" type of response instead of the obvious "physical activities". Craig Ferguson was probably the best late night host; I loved watching his show almost every night. He stopped far to soon.

A blowjob is also known as "giving head". So he's saying that her head (the act of) is fantastic. It took CF a few seconds to get the wording worked out in his mind, but he nailed it. His comedic timing is so good.
I didn't really like Conan until i saw him outside the set.. Conan in the wild is amazing.. Conan on set is a little stiff in comparison, in my opinion
@@helenaxoxoxo1404 He's never cared about that crap. The guests are comfortable with it all and that is all that matters. Just a good time on a late night show
As far as I'm concerned, the absolute best talk show ever. I'd go to work the next day so exhausted because I had to see it as it aired. That it's run was so short is CRIMINAL.
Jeff Goldblum is actually an accomplished jazz musician. I don't know if people take him seriously in that area because of his status as an A-list actor, but if he stopped acting today, he'd be able to live off of music easily. He has albums and tours to an extent, and from the bits I've heard he is magnificent as a pianist.
@@nitro_001newman2, as barely amusing as completely off the mark matey. Be that self incriminatingly truthful, and you'll likely have a moment as real as Keanu Reeves talking about what he never had before.... You'll always miss the opening, if you only focus on "openings" Believe me, I quite enjoy cheap jokes. Watch some more Craig, before you cough up another one o them sjw hat's 😉🤘
@@lequipefourteen822 You are right, Okay Carson was the King. More and more I realize that watching the old clips and whole shows on MeTV! Talk Shows like most other entertainment are in the shitter these days! But I will say this, Ferguson was the last great one!
Ferguson got saddled with a little too much World Wide Pants random “humor”, intentionally shitty segment graphics, a talking robot skeleton etc. it would been interesting to see a show built entirely around his comedic sensibilities
@@johansmallberries9874 Really? Geoff the skelteon robot was a Genius idea and the Funniest Sidekick ever, Secretary the Horse was funny too! They made the graphic intentionally trashy! Everything was a strategy... To differentiate from the other typical Late Night shows!
Craig's so damn quick-witted smooth and confident... His interactions and conversations with guests were second to none in his show, and he could handle really direct flirting almost effortlessly. Love these compilations, JayLenoFly!
True, and his ratings were higher than any of the other talk show slugs in the same time slot. However, by 2014 SJWs were on the war path and his ratings began to drop. Great run that he had. How many talk show hosts go at least ten years? Not many. Once he and Dave left, I was done with late night. Now it's a bunch of corporate pandering hacks with fake laughs and no brains or wit. It's REALLY fucking boring.
Yeah........about that. Witty, cool? that penis bit was not funny at all. It's just more of the same tasteless Hollywood garbage we have seen in talk-shows for years.
Craig was the master of play and everyone wanted to be a part of the fun. That fun has gone from late night. Haven't watched it in years. Bring on the next Craig.
Why do you say that? Because it's an over rated thing people say on You Tube? In the ratings game, Craig's show was one of the Highest Rated Talk Shows of all time. It won numerous awards, or was nominated for many awards.
@@ViewThis. Because relatively, Craig is much less known by name than other, quite boring and bland, hosts. Everyone, even people that don't watch late shows, know names such as James Corden, both Jimmies, Connan... At least from my experience, whenever a topic of late shows comes up, Jimmy or Connan instantly gets referenced, and no one even mentions Craig once.
@@Retrostar619 True it wasn't promoted by the network, but as I said "Craig's show was one of the Highest Rated Talk Shows of all time. It won numerous awards, or was nominated for many awards." So saying it was under rated is really stupid, especially since it wasn't promoted yet had such high ratings.
I thought so until I saw this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lvPxRyIWWX8.html Check it out and you might change your mind. Enjoy!
I suffer from bouts of depression, anxiety and panic attacks. I always know I've hit rock bottom when I keep coming back to Craig Ferguson. At my worst, he is the only person who can still make me laugh. And since he too has been a depressed alcoholic once, my dependency on his work is even stronger.
I think the sequence at 4:05 is the one that makes me laugh the most and perhaps the greatest exchange in late nigh TV history. How quick he was, while being incredibly clean at the same time. Blows my mind every single time.
I’ve been to a few tapings of Craig’s show and it was amazing. Super chaotic in the best way and he’s equally as quick and funny and genuine off camera.
I've never seen keanu reeves on any talk show. Didn't know he was on Craig's show, but that makes sense because Craig is great with people and Kenau being so private.
Especially funny since he talks (and writes) often about how he got his start in stand-up comedy by being drunk all the time. Big booze problem early on (almost committed suicide one hangover morning), but he managed to quit and hasn't touched a drop in decades.
I'm a chronic illness patient, and sleep is a very distant memory. Craig Ferguson saved this wee lass' life, and I miss him tremendously. I'm really glad he's fought off his alcoholism, very thankful he was named Guardian of Scotland
He did an interview with Robin Williams a few years ago. The only person I have ever seen that could keep up with Robin and they joked and worked off each other. Great interview
Oh you think it was rough for the Academy when Rocky hosted the Oscars? Imagine what Craog Fergusin would do that sham of an institution if he got to host. It would be glorious
He is so naturally funny, an incredible sense of humor, I didn’t really watch him when he was on, now, I wish I had. Thank you Jayleno Fly, for posting his clips, they’re great to watch
Jayleno Fly. I want to thank you for all you have done with this channel. I've worked nights most of my life so I never got to watch this show. After watching here you've shown me a man that couldn't have taken a more different path in life than I did, but I've come to respect and revere Craig very much. A man with rapier wit and is very intelligent. Thanks again.
The funniest ROBIN WILLIAMS interview is with this man! Just so quick and both fed the other. No one else ever came close to getting the most out of RW like CF!!
