Keanu's voice and delivery sounded so forced. Like he's doing an impersonation, rather than an embodiment of a character.

I called the score correctly within the first minute of the review and that's the best feat I've accomplished this week.

"Don't think about it" is only ok if the nonsensical gag is worth it.

Tbh I thought the "joke song" at the beginning with theremin and bagpipes was a much more faithful and epic song, than the ending one which was, as you mentioned, a completely unoriginal boring pop rock song akin to Imagine Dragons which was vert disappointing.

I was raised by my grandparents and I grew up watching the originals, and in my elementary history class cited bill and ted as a source and the teacher gave me a A+ and wrote "excellent". Definitely a great memory but I find it cool that even though I didn't grow up with her generation you can still feel nostalgic for a piece of history people can experience at different times and I think that's what makes movies and certain tv shows special as a art form.

I'm surprised you didn't mention that the movie didn't even have a proper ending. The big climax happens, and then BOOM CREDITS.

"ziggy piggy!" was chanted throughout my school playground in '91 after this film... I even muster an awkward smirk out of my friends' faces at the age of 35...

It's always a joy to hear Adam's voice and thoughts.

This movie is definetely not for Adum. It kinda makes fun of logical time traveling and obviously adum is not going to letit slide. By the way, Adum has tons of Lion King ads from Disney plus. You cant fool the mouse. HE is coming Adum....

Clearly Adam didn't understand one of the most important points of the movie that dates back to the first two: the clock is always running in San Dimas.

I really enjoyed the movie, it was just so nauseatingly positive about life, and completely lacked any heavy drama. Yeah those things aren't something that work all that well usually, but this year, 2020, has been a heavy year, especially with some recent family drama, and that "love everyone" hippy vibes really helped to improve my mood.

One nitpick that particularly bugged me was the scene between Jimi Hendrix and Mozart. They got Jimi's style of guitar playing totally wrong. Hendrix was from the 1960s, which favored a more soulful, bluesy style of guitar playing with lots of pentatonics, yet they showed him "shredding" the guitar, which is a more complex neoclassical style of playing popularized in the late 70s and early 80s by figures like Eddie Van Halen and Yngwie Malmsteen. Basically, they showed him playing a style developed at least a decade after his death. He may have influenced that style, but he did not play it.

Yeah, this movie definitely is carried by nostalgia, but that's okay. I grew up watching the Bill and Ted movies so to me this was sort of a nice little end cap to their story. Could have been better sure, but i feel like some of that is because i dont think any studio wanted to put a lot of money into it. And Brigette Lundy-Paine as "Billie" 100 percent stole the movie.

Ted looks like Snape from Harry Potter and all I can imagine is they got swapped and Ted killed Dumbledore.

Not even going to mention Cudi's cameo? Felt like a bad Family Gay gag: "Holy crap Lois, I can't believe it's Kid Cudi!"

I tell ya more and more, I can gauge about what his scores will be depending on his wordage and overall demeanor.. 4/10 was exactly what I guessed.

Above all, I respect that they did a sequel and not a remake. Sequels and spiritual successors that come out 30 years later don't always work, but at least they're trying something creative, and occasionally they produce a real gem.

Watched this movie the other day with my family, and I really liked it. That is all :)

Bill & Ted really doesn't work when both actors are clearly in their 50s. They'd probably work before as animated caricatures instead of going live-action again. I feel the same way about Jay & Silent Bob.

I watched the first two for the first time the day before they came out as well. The energy was really awkward throughout the whole movie. The "time travel" aspect was handled way more sloppily and felt more like they were using it so they could get every main character together at the end for the "we did it" hug. I rolled my eyes harder than I have in a while at the end of that movie.

It is weird how each movie got one rating less for Adum. Same happened for me but it went from 9/10 to 7/10.

the thing you gotta focus on is that the movies were made with love, probably this franchise and The Big Lebowski are the first movies i can think of where people actually had so much fun filming and put in a lot of work. I think you're looking at it like you were expecting something bigger than it actually is, and you really do this a lot.

I feel like alternate dimensions was the original idea that most of the film was based on but because of the time travel plot with the daughters they decided to make it all about time travel to cut down on the confusion. The first movie is a time travel movie, the second is a heaven and hell movie so it makes sense for the third to be a different sci-fi concept. Definitely felt like they had to throw together an ending too. I enjoyed the film enough to make it worth a watch and worth thinking about how it could have been better without resenting anyone involved with how it ended up.

I liked the first 2 bill and ted movies. The 3rd one I can't imagine I will dislike.

The movie explicitly states that it is parallel universes they are traveling to. The princess's specifically say that at the end. Also at the end all of reality is breaking down and converging, which they show, and that's how everyone played together. It's stupid, but the movie explains it

Never watched Bill and Ted, but hearing you explain how the main characters went back through time and made everyone in the past play a song in order to save the world sounds so stupid that I actually laughed just hearing you explain the idea with the footage playing.

I haven't seen this one yet but if they bring Napoleon back then it's a 10/10 for me

The movie definitely has its problems. I liked it though. Part of that may be that I grew up watching the original two movies all the time. But I did think Alex Winter put in more effort than Keanu Reeves.

I thought both of the daughters were great (not just one) every other critique is fair though

I thought the part where they explained that time and space were folding in on themselves and that when the bed ridden Ted explained that there are infinite futures and infinite pasts wrapped up why the future versions of themselves that they visited were so different. What got my noggin joggin was the idea the hell exists outside of space and time (spoilers) because the daughters were lasered in present day and bill and Ted were lasered in the future at the senior center, were the musicians and daughters digging ditches in hell for 20-30 years and completely fine about it or is hell its own separate dimension.

Wow you really captured how I felt about the film. I really wanted to like it too but the nostalgia for the previous films couldn't carry it for me. Thanks for accurately summing it up for me.

No idea who the actress who played Billie was, but damn she really went full Keanu and I loved every second of it.

Interesting to hear your impression as someone who'd never seen the originals before yesterday. I think some of my enjoyment was just seeing these characters again even if it wasn't as good as the originals which I will always see as better than they probably are objectively.

I feel like this bill and ted movie is a threat to all of us of a new Dude Where's My Car sequel.

I think they're able to play music at the "same time" across different points in time because as the first movie states, the flow of time back in the "present" still goes on as normal

I saw the old ones before watching this one too. Had no idea what it was but my parents did so we decided to watch all of them back to back. This movie was alright

I came to the conclusion that the time traveling aspect of Bill and Teds adventure was kind of an inversion of what happened in the previous two movies. Like mentioned in the video in the previous movies their future selves would solve the problems for the past selves, but here in Face the Music we have the past selves traveling to the future to ask future selves how they saved the universe. Of course their future selves know what is happening and how they saved the universe so they're acting as how they saw themselves act when they were their past selves so the time loop is secured. Then we have the flipside of time traveling aspect, with the previous 2 movies Bill and Ted would go back in time to solve their problems, but in Face the Music their kids do this instead. Both going back and forwards in time end up not really solving the problem and the problem ends up being solved when the past and future meet during the moment that was prophesied and their kids with fresh new ideas and a different perspective figure out what to do and so the Old and New end up helping each other save the universe. It's still really disappointing the music they did at the end was so generic you could pick any top 100 pop song and it wouldn't affect how the scene feels.
