What do u do when the calculator only gives 2 answers like how do u know what to put in the 3rd bracket eg an equation with coefficients 1, -2,-15,36? Or is it not possible on calc?
One of the brackets is a square bracket that gives a repeated root. This is not obvious from the calculator directly, but you could look at the last number to give you a hint. The 36 must have come from -3 x -3 x 4 rather than 4 x 4 x -3 so the square bracket is (x-3). The final factorisations is (x - 3)²(x + 4)

You have to be careful. You can use the SOLVE feature but this will only give you one solution so you need to do some algebra and simplifying to find any other solutions.

I think it is most likely that they would be given one of the factors or such. I don't think they would need to do one a complicated as this at GCSE Level. At A-level they have a calculator available. Not sure about other qualifications in other countries. Maybe?
Very interesting. It's a very long time since my 'O' levels (just before the introduction of GCSEs) and 'A' levels, and can't really remember what sorts of cubics we needed to factor. I think I even struggled factoring quadratics a bit. Although I could eventually come up with the factors, I found it faster to use the quadratic formula, much like you are doing with the cubic solver on the calculator here, except that calculators didn't have built-in solvers back then.
Hello i know this question is not about the video, but i dont find anything. i have a FX-300ES Plus, and i dont know how i can getn the result with comas and dots separation. EX. 1000000 + 1 = 1000001 (actual display result) What i want is 1.000.001,00 I read the manual and show me how to change dot per commas and say the dot will be now used on thousand but dont show, just the flat numner 1000 not 1.000 I already configure the FIX decimal to 2 so every time i get xxxx,00
I am not sure that you can display it as such. If you have FIX it to two decimals changes and changed the decimal point to a comma, I think that is it. I have not seen it displayed on a Casio with points or dots as digit separators. If anyone know differently comment below.
Good question, I don’t think there is a way as you cannot input the solutions and then find the factors and then expand . Remember this is not an algebraic calculator.
