QuickQ: Starting new Shows and Patching

You could use 'groups' for this, Groups can contain just 1 fixture, so if needed to have more than 20 fixtures on the LH faders you can use 20 single groups in group mode to gain a further 20.

Yes - this is done via the 'head number'. Head numbers 1-20 are on the LH faders. You can update the head no's in the patch window.

This is using MagicVis (included Free with the software).

You have to set the DMX address and mode on the fixtures manually. Unless your fixtures support RDM are you are using RDM autopatch on the QuickQ.

@@ChamSysLtd no I’m not using RDM. I actually patch first and then change the dmx address on the fixtures

You can duplicate dmx addresses on fixtures 1 and 12; 2 and 11; 3 and 10; 4 and 9; 5 and 8; 6 and 7

@@stevienichol1008 - On first install the heads library needs to unpack, with the program left open this can take 10 mins or so (depending on PC speed). If still not working please reach out to our support team. We are here to help - support@chamsys.co.uk

@@ChamSysLtd I'm on a brand new MacPro with SSD and 96 Mb of memory, should fly through that. Really slow and whole interface looks very basic. Wondering if I've got correct software. I just get the spinning green ring around the 'Plus' button.

@@ChamSysLtd It also refers to 'Fixture' files and 'Head' files. Every other company just calls them Fixtures. Why is there two? The dialogue box that comes up looks like something out of a kids game, not easy to navigate.
