Quilt by Nellie Juliet Finch-Blair late 30's 

Indeed, if only the quilt could talk. Nellie is Margaret Blair-Thompson's mother. Born in Central Iowa 1896, Married to Elias Blair and had four children Howard, Margaret, Vernon, and Hugh, died in Big Fork, Minn. 1948. Nellie's parents were Amos Finch and Elizabeth Peak, Nellie was one of 13 children. Amos's parents were William Bennet Finch and Elizabeth Stroh-Finch from Pa. came out to Iowa 1852 via covered wagon and some of the Native Americans were not real happy to see them,, along with so many others. There is a short story from a family tree book written by Charles W Finch about the trip west by William and Elizabeth I can email you if you want some fun reading. Farryl Josephson is of course Nellie's grand daughter. Then I forgot to mention the maker of the third quilt in the back there her name is Ladisla Pinheiro; She is Portuguese so the "I" in her first name is pronounced like "ee" and the "n" needs a wavy line over it to help with pronunciation. And she is 89 yo. still going strong.
