That’s impressive you condensed the process to 60 seconds. Looks great and I’m seeing that style of Star block literally everywhere right now!

It took some doing to scrunch it all down!! 😆 The Strippy Star ruler is a favorite of mine ... I have a (more normal paced) video in it that I did back in 2020. 🥰

Starching the fabric before cutting triangles is such a huge help. Especially after pre-washing cotton fabrics. Do you also starch the bias cut binding fabric? (I've been using bedsheets from the 60s and 70s for longer strips and bold flower prints.) Thank you for your video. 🍄🍄

I don't usually starch my binding... but it isn't a terrible idea! 🥰

Hi there! I do have lots of videos where I slow things down, and go through the process step by step. This quilt was made using the strippy star ruler, I have an instructional video on using that ruler here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jts7EKw5edo.html These fast videos aren't designed to be instructional. They are designed to be fun, and inspirational. RU-vid wants creators to make these short videos, so to grow on this platform, that's what I do. But I won't stop making full-length videos that show step-by-step. I will keep doing that as well. I have never filmed every project I make for video - to make a full-length video takes lots of extra time to make sure the cameras catch the process at all the different angles, and includes sitting under hot studio lights the entire time. Plus hours of video editing afterwards to combine 3 camera angles into one video. I hope that helps explain why I have these fast videos! 🥰

Personally, I believe a quilt is fully finished when the label is applied(hand sewn on the back, or placed 2 sides in a bottom corner of a quilt) then the binding is completed. Also, the label can be part of the back of the quilt before it is quilted. Label: can just your name & year it's completed. Label: can have more info ... like the name of the pattern/block, name of who pieced the top, quilter's name, city & state in which it was completed; designer of the quilt; if a gift or in honor/memory of someone, the name, relation to you & why. It can be written by hand, with an archival permanent ink. The information can be embroidered on. The info can be Cross stitched on a X-stitch fabric, bordered by a fabric & attached to the back, or front. It can be written by machine stitching the letters. It can be placed inside of an "extra"/or a planned block for the front or the back. If it's entered into a contest, to be judged, follow their rules for the label location. Or, explore other ways of including your information on labels...can look up different techniques on RU-vid. Enjoy! I make either a large enough drawstring bag or a pillowcase for the rolled quilt; especially when it's a gift or is donated.

Hi Carolina! I notice that you used the Sashiko machine at the end of this super quick video! Very nice!!
@CarolinaMoore
@CarolinaMoore 2 года назад
I did! I quilted it with the Sashiko and finished the binding with the Sashiko. It is my go-to for quick quilting, because I can do simple, straight-line quilting, but it looks just *so good* with that sashiko stitching. 🥰

RU-vid Shorts (the vertical videos) are always going to be fast to try to fit as much as possible in the 60 second timeframe. I suggest you watch my regular-format videos instead. I promise those are much slower. 🥰

These RU-vid shorts have to fit within 60 seconds... and this was just for fun, not a tutorial... there is no way I could teach a full quilt in just a minute!

You do realize that people watching actually want to SEE the finished product. Its so ridiculous to go to all the trouble of making and editing a video when you pull the plug just before the ending. I hate these kind of videos!
@CarolinaMoore
@CarolinaMoore 11 месяцев назад
I'm so confused? The end of this video shows rhe finished quilt hanging on my back fence. There was no "pulling the plug"? Of course I showed you the finished product!

@CarolinaMoore

I have a very normal-paced video on doing bindings. Please go watch that one. For RU-vid Shorts (these vertical videos), they have to be 60 seconds or less. I cannot do a RU-vid Short that is more than 60 seconds. So, either it is fast, or I can't share all the steps. 🤷‍♀️
