So this is the last one, gang!! I want to thank you all for watching and commenting and subscribing---it has been a joy reading your comments! I did want to add an apology to Julie Reuben, whose IG is incorrect in the video. The caption should have been @b_plus_q and has been corrected in the description box. Thank you for your kindness regarding this error.
Cathy, these QuiltCon videos are phenomenal! You filmed and produced so many videos. So many, that I haven't had a chance to view them all. So many and so thorough, that I am feeling I was actually in attendance. I still can't believe that you did this for us. Your usual.excellence shines. Thank you so much.
OMG, Iridescence... I had to stop the video in a close-up for several minutes and just stare in awe at the stitching. Wow. Thanks so much for doing this series. I've seen other YT videos where they cruise around a noisy crowd and swing the camera unsteadily from one quilt to another, sometimes lingering on a quilt that might not be my cup of tea, then wooshing by something I would be interested in seeing more than just a mere glimpse of. You and Paul have clearly taken the time to not only stop at each quilt and read the descriptions, giving every artist credit and providing all the information available, but showing wide shots, close-ups and other angles to help the viewer see every quilt clearly as well as edit every clip so well and compile them into all these different categories... I don't know how many viewers realize how much work goes into shooting and editing decent videos, but I do and I truly appreciate all the effort you put into every vid you post. Kudos to you both! ❤❤
Love Modern Traditionalism! I have really loved using traditional blocks/styles and doing something different with them. This category seems like it was the beginning or the path to modern quilt designs.
I do, too, Sister! And it feels more accessible to me, than some of the more abstract, artistic designs; like something all of us regular joes can do! ;)
Cathy, I always love to watch your videos when I get a chance to. Seeing all your Quilt Con videos has been a great treat. I have shared them with my quilting friends and we all agree. You have done the best coverage of a quilt show we have seen. I especially love that you have broken down the categories into separate videos. Brova to you and your work. ❤
You are very smart to do each category each day. I like that you share the quilters story....it gives us better insight to appreciate the creative process. My favorite category so far.
I loved all of these! ❤ thanks again to you and Paul for all of the work on these wonderful videos. I felt like I was there with you enjoying the quilts this year!
Another great video, Cathy. I'm amazed at how many modern /traditional quilts use straight line or cross hatched quilting, yet it's so effective in enhancing the overall effect.
I binge watched most of the series and I have to say that it was pretty spectacular. The comprehensive approach you took really showcased the artist as well as the quilts. Thank you very much for your hard work and your hubby’s unsung editing to put this together. My hubby makes educational videos and programming for his company, so I know how much time and effort it takes to do that. Just think, it all started with a scrap quilt challenge and a suggestion by someone to enter it into Quiltcon and grew into a wonderful series. Now it’s time for a vacation!!!
Thank you so much, Christine! And yes, most people have no idea how much work goes into these videos (well all of them, actually, but especially this type!) I wish I could take a week's vacation to have a break from my QuiltCon vacation! LOL!
No wonder you were exhausted when you got back from Quilt Con! I keep thinking this is the last video from there, and lo and behold, you post, yet, another one! Thank you! These have been excellent!
Another phenomenal reporting. Thank you so very much! I can’t imagine what it’s like being in front of and surrounded by all the talent that’s hanging at Quiltcon!!
You're welcome, Dawn! It is exciting and inspiring and humbling! I'm so glad you've enjoyed these videos---and thank you for the shout out in YOUR video!
I hope it helped drive some viewership. My audience is small yet. I’m gonna have to go to Quiltcon next year if just to watch you in action! Professionalism at its best!
Thank you so much for this series! I was there (sorry I missed you) and enjoyed the review. I have directed several friends to these videos. It is soooo much better than the pictures I took. And congratulations again for your quilt being accepted in the show. What an honor!
You have made an outstanding collection of well done videos covering Quilt Con. They should pay you to do this. What a tribute to the makers! Done with grace and charm. An education in modern quilting.
I loved each of these quilts. All took a unique approach to design and pushed the original design idea to new and fresh looking quilts. Every one of them rises to the level of a work of art. Thank you for the tour.
Thank you! I have viewed all your quilt con videos and so appreciate your approach: your wonderful narration , the close up view of the quilting and the slow panning of the quilts. I just about get motion sickness from videos filmed while the person walks around and quickly pans to the next quilt. I love your sense of humor, too. Well done you two! Thanks again, from Maine . ❤
What a great series you have put together. You and your hubby really went above and beyond. Now you both need to take some time away from it all to reset and refresh yourselves. Thanks for bringing us all along with you!!! Quiltcon is definitely on my bucket list!! @@TheCatBirdQuilts
Loved! Loved the whole Quilt Con series you did! Bravo! You were definitely working during the show. Wowza. I truly appreciate all that you were able to share with us. Thank you! Thank you!!! Please tell Paul how much we appreciate him too! Excellent job. Big hugs! 💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dear Cathy, thank you for sharing the quilts … really phenomenal and Paul does a fabulous job filming and editing. They have been a real joy to see even though modern quilt making isn’t my thing. I’m a more traditional maker of quilts and wall hangings. Cheers, Lili 😊❤
Love your videos! I love listening to you talk! Thank you for doing these videos! I would’ve loved to been at quilt con, but since I was unable to go, I am so happy I got to see a lot of it. Thanks to you and your husband!
My apologies! Julie Reuben's IG is @b_plus_q I have corrected it in the description box---unfortunately cannot fix it in the actual video once it has been published.
Right?! I wish we had more time to spend on them all! I think that is one of Jenny Hayes (@pappersaxten on IG) quilts--(yes I just checked!) It's her Above the Cairns Quilt and it was a Judge's Choice quilt at Festival of Quilts in 2023! 🤩
