OMG - I could listen and watch you all day - not only is your voice very compassionate about your work. but it is so easy to listen to - your work is phenomenal - you speak on a level that is so easy to understand - it's like you take me into your mind when you are describing what you are doing and thinking - I love your work - best thing is, even when I don't totally agree with your choice, I love listening to your reasoning. I just wanna move next door to you and be the mouse in the corner of your studio and listen and learn and enjoy - I know I am rattling but thank you so much for todays journey - it was just delightful !!!
I'm a new subscriber. Wow! Your choice of quilt pattern and thread really achieved what I would have hoped for. I'm a piecer, not a quilter, quilting makes all the difference in the world to the pieced quilt. Thank you.
+imagatorvetmom Welcome to my channel! Thank you so very much! I'm hoping to get 'Cat's Cradle' on the long arm soon and can't wait to share it! Thanks for watching!!
fabulous tutorial, I am on my first quilt for my daughter's first baby, it will be a quilt for the pram or to lie on on the floor. I would like to see you do the Christmas design quilt.
+Erica Malaiperuman Thank you for watching! I'd love to see what you make for your daughter's first baby!! I will be working on some Christmas items soon!
I like both, but my 1st choice is Christmas. My favorite color is red, guess that's why I like Christmas. Also I love the birth story. Never another one like it to mean so much. Having my tremmers, so better go. USA
I'm a fan from Brazil. I love your videos! I'm a beginner and you help me a lot. Tks a lot! Is the backing fabric you used still being sold? I love that pattern. I've been looking for it but I can't find. Could you tell me its fabric line/manufacturer?Thank you
would you talk more about the quilting pattern book sent to you by the manufacturer of your long arm? do they publish the patterns for public use or only for owners of their machines?
Very informative video. Thank you for it. If the new quilt will be a wall hanging I would choose the Christmas jelly roll. If it's a bed quilt I would choose the flowers. What weight thread do you use in your quilting machine for general quilting?
edhunley Hi Edhunley! The quilt did end up being a bed quilt and I did use the flowered material! I like your taste! I just launched my website last week, www.missmarkersquilts.com, if you go to my website and click shopping, my favorite notions, you'll find my absolute favorite thread, Aurifil 50 wt it's very thin and at the same time exceptionally strong. I tend to use only 3 different colors, white, gray and off white. I had at one time used a cotton/poly blend and I am such a heavy presser that I actually MELTED the thread. The bad news was I never realized the thread had melted until after it was quilted. That was many years ago and thankfully I've learned a lot since then! Thank you for watching and for commenting! Margaret
Question; Do you use the same thread on the back of the quilt that you use on the front? Or do you match the back thread to the colors of the backing fabric?
I vote for the flowers pattern. The quilting design you chose for the batik quilt was so pretty. I love swirly designs. Did you use a pantograph to make that or was it free hand?
Thanks so much, I really liked the design too and the thread color made it a great match for the quilt! It was a panda graph design, I have a Gammill Statler that is computerized so I can either do free hand or computerized work. Thanks for watching! I really like the flowers too!
Christmas and on the custom quilt, can you tell me the name of the design and designer you used in the plain block and It wasn't possible to see the pieced blocks at all. Did you use the same pattern on them?
I am a novice quilter. I am making a bedspread for my son with a sea theme. The quilt pattern I have selected is the windmill pattern. My concern is if I stitch in the ditch the angles will conflict with the design of the fabric used in the patch work. (sea shells, water/waves, fish etc) I was thinking that I could select a quilting pattern that looks more like waves. What do you think?
Jane Reese Jane, can you email me a photo of the fabric and the pattern? I would love to see what it looks like! I LOVE looking at fabric and patterns! I did a quilt a while back that was a beach theme but it was for a little girl. I quilted it with sea themed items. Are you going to be free motion quilting the quilt or do you have a computerized machine? I look forward to see it! (you can email me at Margaret@MissMarkersQuilts.com. Thanks so much for watching!!
+Kaye Repp I use primarily two different threads when quilting, the first is King Tut Quilting thread which is a 40 weight 3 ply 100% cotton thread and Signature which is also a 40 weight 3 ply 100% cotton thread. Yes I use the same thread in the bobbin as I do in the top. If you have any other questions Kaye, don't hesitate to ask!!
It is an Anne Bright Design. I'm not certain exactly what formats it comes in but I do know that it works on Statlers. If you Google Anne Bright you should be able to locate her page!
Barb Decker Hi Barb! My video on organizing my quilt patterns is still a work in progress :)! I started filming and realized that I really needed to tweak my organization due to my expanding library of patterns. I hope to be finalizing it soon. Thanks so much for watching!!
Barb Decker Hang in there :) I think I've got the answer or at least it seems to be working working for me with a few minor adjustments! As soon as I know it's going to work for me I'll get it posted! Have a great day!!
